Capriccio Siciliano Wine Bar & Taverna

Last night we had the sheer luck of finding the best restaurant in Sicily! We stumbled upon Giuseppe and Mimma’s restaurant through a Google search, and we’re so happy we did. Not only is the food, absolutely outstanding, but the service and the beauty of the owners is something to behold! You will not be sorry. Seriously, the best dinner we’ve eaten in Italy!

This little gem is a great restaurant, the owner his, wife and during the busy season thier son run it . All of the food is homemade to perfection . We had a lovely evening here in March and found the food to be excellent and the hospitality equally as good. We hope on their next visit to Ortigia they will give us a call and we can enjoy a meal together. Oh yes did I mention the lasagna is amazing!

Best lasagne I ever had. You can feel they have been made with love. And the owners are so nice and friendly people.

Little Sicilian restaurant off a main road. Inviting owners, husband and wife. Food was delicious. We started with the Caponata, outstanding, and Hot Pecorino Cheese, equally good. For dinner we had one of each of the Cannelloni, meat and spinach with ricotta. Nice size portions and reminded me of my Nonna’s cooking. A bottle of Sicilian wine and Cassata Siciliana for dessert rounded out the evening. Owner Giuseppe sat with us and talked after the meal and shared with us a taste of some local Marsala dessert wine. A very pleasant experience.

Great family taverna! My wife absolutely loved the lasagna and eggplant dishes. I enjoyed them as well, although there was quite a generous amount of garlic, so I would suggest being cautious if you're sensitive to it. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the location in downtown Cefalu. Overall, it was a positive experience.

What a wonderful experience eating here was. After Catania, Mt Etna we arrived in Cefula hungry and this hit the spot. Orange salad, cannellini and lasagna. Delightful hosts made a great evening.

The best lasagne I’ve ever had! The recipe is a traditional Sicilian grandmother’s recipe. They use three kinds of meat and three kinds of cheeses. There were so many rich flavours. The ambiance was nice, the restaurant had a nice view, and the staff was very kind. The chef even came out to ask how everyone was enjoying their food.

If you’re ever in Cefalù, this is a must try. Giuseppe claims he’s Nonna’s recipe is the best lasagne you’ll ever try - I can safely say he isn’t wrong! Also get the eggplant, another 10/10. Service is second to none as well!

Had the best meal of our Sicily trip here. The food was so delicious and authentic, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was wonderful - both the owners are lovely. We are both vegan and the staff were very helpful in letting us know which dishes could be made vegan, and we really enjoyed the food. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Cefalù.

Loved the food😍😍😍i first thought it might be too touristy, but when we had the melanzane and lasagne, it was just sooooo tasty😍i never write a review but this restaurants needed a review. If you want good and tasty food come here 😍the restaurant is owned by a husband a wife.

Glad we found this place for lunch! The owners are lovely people and we had the pleasure to have a great conversation with them. Note: There is a hint of spice on the lasagna which I enjoyed! See you again.

This is as local as you can get. Giuseppe and his wife run the place. It's really cozy, simple and pure italian.

I was wondering where is the kitchen and who cooks. Well, it's all behind the bar and Giuseppe is the cook. And he cooks great, very tasty and on the spot. Prices are medium and worth the quality, portions are generous, we were 2 and left there full.

On the menu are just some of the things that he has as ingredients for the day so all dishes are just fresh (eg: if sea was agitated or rainy, no fish dishes that day).

Highly recommended for local flavour and wine pairing.

Authentic restaurant. We ate the two recommended dishes lasagna and cannelloni and both were delicious. The caponata was also superb.

After all the deep fried street food in Palermo it was a great joy for our stomachs to eat these home made delicious dishes.
We were recommended the Caprese salad and the lasagna which were incredibly tasty! I considered asking for another plate of lasagna but instead went with the nice desert.
The choice of Sicilian wine is very good, and the recommendations were accurate.
The chef came out and asked us about the food, the service in general was very good and attentive.
We'd love to eat here again!

They claim to have the best lasagne... Well, I didn't try all the lasagne in Cefalu but if there is a better one I'd be shocked. It was fantastic. With a lovely glass of wine and the most welcoming of hosts. And lovely homely surroundings. Also the aubergine and cheese dish was a winner and the penne arrabiata was also fantastic. Was too full to try the tiramisu unfortunately. This is not fine dining... This is great regular bistro food that is very much recommended. I would definitely go back if we had more evenings in Cefalu.

Amazing lasagne that taste homemade and has a bit of spice to it. Paired it with Mediterranean salad which balanced out the meal. Owner/chef was super nice and offered us some pistachio cream and almond wine 🍷. Will definitely dine in again when we're back in Cefalu!

Fantastic Sicilian food with lots of flavour. Highly recommend this authentic family owned restaurant with excellent service. The Chef/Owner came to chat with us about how the food was prepared! We will be back!
