Cefalu - Hotel Kalura

I felt nervous before I arrived, reading the recent reviews but they were all incorrect. The room might be slightly dated but it is very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic, and the beach is very lovely. The staff was all fantastic, very helpful, and we never waited for anything.

Beuatiful location with own beach, great cuisine, and clean rooms. I did not enjoy the ground floor room I had.
The best part of the experience was however the staff. Always ready to help out, with a great attitude towards life and service.
This is a place to return to.

We have just returned from an amazing stay at this hotel! We stayed three nights in the superior sea view rooms. We paid a bit extra based on other reviews, and we were not disappointed, it was worth it!

Check in went well and the lady who greeted us was so lovely and accommodating. In fact, all of the staff we met were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The lifeguards/barmen down at the private beach as well as the evening service in the bar were particularly friendly.

The pool is good, however the selling point of this hotel is the private beach. Something I really enjoyed was that there were plenty of beds available and there was no need to rush down in the mornings. As others have said, it is rocky and down a good few steps, but one you know that, it’s okay. The prices in the bar are reasonable and we had some of the bar food for lunch which was affordable, considering the location.

The only feedback I would give is it would be helpful for the hotel to inform guests that taxis do not operate after 12:00 when they are ordering taxis in the evening for guests. Others have said 1:00 but we found ourselves stranded at 12:00 one night and had to walk back. It’s a 30 min walk and was fine for us, but it was deserted and if you had mobility issues there could be a problem.

Overall a fantastic stay and I can’t recommend Hotel Kalura enough and well done to the staff who made our days so enjoyable.

The staff were welcoming and always on hand. The bar and restaurant staff were superb and the general vibe at the hotel was just bliss. It’s kid friendly with lots to do.

The view from the restaurant is second to none, I would definitely recommend putting this on your list when you visit Sicily.

We stayed in September 2023 for 5 nights,we were after the classic Mediterranean vacation and got exactly that. The views and seafront location was as good as it gets, we stayed in a superior room with a balcony that was exactly as described. It was directly above the bar and restaurant level but noise was not an issue at all. Guests were respectful and rooms were well insulated.
We loved the ocean front platform and ocean swimming, we also used the pool in the afternoon as it got the sun for longer.
We ate at the restaurant numerous times and were impressed by range and affordability of the menu. The breakfasts were bountiful and delicious.
Cefalu was an easy 25-30min walk along the coast.
The staff were attentive without being annoying. I would strongly recommend the hotel.

Magical. 24/7 sea views and wave sounds. Plenty of terraces, seating areas and nooks to chill, hang out, read, sunbathe or take a drink. Absolutely wonderful friendly, warm, from-the-heart and multilingual staff. Not to mention access to a private beach which is awesome for swimming, snorkelling, SUPing etc. and looks impressive with a characteristic rock formation in the sea. Tasty Italian food, drinks and a varied breakfast buffet. Yoga mats and equipment available, also a great setting for a retreat. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The hotel is a fantastic location, about half hour walk outside the main city of Cefalù. There are a number of local restaurants within walking distance which were great.

The breakfast is delicious and enjoyed on the stunning balcony overlooking the sunrise over the Mediterranean.

Lunch/dinner was very tasty if a little pricey but the bar served bar food as a cheaper option. The front of house staff are very accommodating and friendly.

The rooms are basic but comfortable and the cleaning staff are fantastic (came back to a spotless room each afternoon/evening).

The USP of Hotel Kalura has to be the private beach which was absolutely beautiful. When the sun passed over the mountains in the late afternoon, the outdoor pool was well used and completely covered in sun.

If I was to book again, I would definitely rebook with a sea view as we did find ourselves a jealous of the rooms with a sea view.

Nice place! The pool area was very calm and their own beach areas is probably one of the best. Reasonable prices in the pool/beach bar (7€ spritz, 6€ craft beer).

It is a 25 minutes to the center of Cefalu, but it’s a nice one along the sea!

They offer single rooms, that makes it affordable for solo travelers.

After you check out, you could still stay and they offer you a courtesy room

The breakfast could be improved a bit, with more salty options.

Amazing balcony views. Lovely big swimming pool. The small bay in front of the hotel was so nice to swim in, water was clear blue. Would recommend anyone to stay here if your looking for a relaxing chilled holiday with superb views.

Absolutely phenomenal! Staying here made my whole trip to Sicily! From the amazing views I woke up to to the outstanding breakfast on the terrace, everything during my stay was impeccable! Staff went out of their way to correct a mistake they made which I really appreciated- without a doubt will return. It’s a bit of a walk from the city center which is the main drawback as part of the path is unpaved

We stayed here for 2 nights in November in a room right on the water - fantastic views, super quiet area...and you can't beat the location. It's steps from a relaxing beach, and the staff was super nice. Mind you it was a bit of a different experience as we didn't eat at the hotel (due to COVID), but the experience was relaxing nonetheless. Would recommend :)

Absolutely stellar location on the hill overlooking the sea with a private beach. Restaurant is tasty, not overpriced, and the dining terrace is a large area overlooking the sea. The staff was attentive, responsive, and friendly. I walked to town which took about 30 minutes, then hiked “the Rock” which took about another hour, then wandered town eating arancine and gelato, then back to the hotel. There is free car parking at the hotel and an ample parking lot. They have a lot of activities at the hotel like swimming pool, private beach, tennis, and lots of games. You can rent a scooter there. It was clean and like a little paradise with well-maintained greenery. Enjoyed thoroughly.

Great chill out hotel, right next to the sea and within walking distance of the old town. Enormous pool, gym, tennis and table tennis, plus paddle boards, kayaks and snorkel & masks available. Staff friendly and helpful.

Beautiful communal balcony with bean bags overlooking the sea. Private beach with free sun loungers, great breakfast, free parking, beautiful views in both sea facing rooms and on the opposite side of the hotel castle facing views.

Great hotel, big terrace, perfect for breakfast.
Large pool a short walk from the main entrance.
Long wait for coffee at breakfast in the morning, need two barristas really, but breakfast good quality served by friendly staff. Dinner was pretty good, service a little sporadic, but staff pleasant, good value wine.
The seascape views are amazing.
