The peacefulness of this "borgo", along with its warm people, tranquil atmosphere, and exceptional cuisine, made for a much-needed and well-spent holiday break, all under the wonderful care of Sara Petralia, her mum Giuseppina, her dad Domenico and Irene. They did an excellent job in helping us enjoy the scenic countryside, breathtaking views of Mount Etna, the distant sea views, and a rich variety of delicious traditional Sicilian food. Highly recommended.

A lovely room, beautiful surroundings, delicious food with fresh breakfast pastries made by Sara's mum. Their care was shown by attention to detail in everything and their desire to make your stay the best that they could. Lovely pool and terrace with views over the coastline. The friendly reception staff speak excellent English. Sara is star!

My wife and I visited Antico Borgo Petralia this past July and were very impressed by the friendly and attentive staff and the overall amenities. In some ways, it was like staying at a movie set! We used the hotel as a springboard to three Etna wineries: Benanti, Biondi and Terra Costantino, but when we weren't wine tasting, we enjoyed the pool area and the beautiful views of Mount Etna (especially at sunset!) If you stay, you have to have dinner there at least one night. This was a very memorable stay for us and we plan to stay there again. Thank you!

Amazing family run agriturismo, couldn’t recommend this place highly enough! Mrs Petralia bakes fresh cakes every breakfast, and Sara and Irene are extremely accommodating at any time of day!

This is such a great place to spend your holiday in Sicily! The whole team made us feel very welcome and was always helping us out throughout the stay. The rooms are very clean and beautiful, the view is breathtaking whether you look towards the sea or the mountain and the pool is just a very neat addition to everything else. Last and definitely not least, the food is to die for! We kept trying all the homemade cakes in the morning and had dinner there everytime we could.

Sara and her family run this hotel amazingly well and it was such a delight to stay here on our last 2 nights in Sicily. The hospitality from this family is truly amazing. Sara speaks fantastic English and gave us a guided tour of everything. Her mother cooks at dinner and I strongly suggest you take up the opportunity to eat here as it feels like a truly unique authentic Sicilian meal. Could not recommend this stay more highly. We don’t want to even leave the hotel because of the beautiful peaceful grounds and how well we are being treated. Thanks for the amazing stay!

What a great place to stay! The Petralia family and their staff welcomed us warmly for a four day stay. Their ‘Antico Borgo Petralia’ is a green and quiet oasis on the flanks of the Etna vulcano. The rooms are comfortable and well proportioned. The mattresses were excellent. We were offered the option of eating at the borgo during weekdays. The menu was simple but excellent, as were the homemade cakes and the fruits from the garden.
Besides the Etna, Taormina and Catania are among the places nearby. But there are also many small villages you can visit!
In all, a lovely place you want to return to!

Enchanting and characteristic location for the hamlet all in lava stone and wood. Possibility to cool off with the use of the well-kept swimming pool. Breakfast is abundant and with quality products and own production, with genuine cakes and full of the passion of the mother of the family who manages the structure. Special mention should be made to Sara, a sensitive and exquisite person who takes care of guests with discretion and professionalism and makes you always feel at ease. Highly recommended.

This was the best place we stayed in our whole two week visit. Sara took excellent care of us and was so helpful in pointing us in the right direction with touring the area! She also won us over very quickly with her Mother’s delicious cake. The pool is lovely overlooking the mountains and the sea, breakfast was awesome, and the rooms had that classic craftsmanship beautiful wood furniture and detailing. Would recommend Antico Borgo to any couple looking for a relaxed experience and an awesome home base to explore Etna, Taormina and the neighboring villages.

I will not hesitate coming here again. The view from everywhere is breathtaking, the pool is lovely, the facility is sparkling clean, the food is exactly what you may have in mind when thinking of home made local cuisine, and the location is just spot on to experience this side of Sicily. But beyond everything, the hospitality, the personal care of the staff to any need of its guests, made our stay as comfortable and as charming as it gets. 10/10

It's everything you want from a Sicilian hotel. The location is stunning, with open views in all directions, one of Etna's summits above and the Mediterranean below and in the distance. It is family owned and run, the food is great, and can be eaten outside, and the accommodation comfortable and sensibly priced. When we went, early in the season, the pool was a little chilly but heating is planned. Highly recommended.

A wonderful location with the most hospitable, charming family. Sara was the perfect host. The views out to sea and of Mount Etna were fantastic. The cakes, all homemade, were absolutely delicious - in particular the pistachio cake and the ricotta and cinnamon tart! Highly recommend.

My best friend and I found this place online and were impressed by the wonderful reviews. For the last 3 nights of our holiday, we enjoyed this gorgeous property and setting, and the lovely family run atmosphere of Antico Borgo. Sara and her family could not be more helpful! Nothing was too much trouble. Our breakfasts and dinners were enjoyed outside ~ under the stars and within view of Mount Etna. We were treated so well, and there was so much to see and do, with wonderful recommendations from Sara. We were treated to birthday cake and prosecco , for the celebration of a guest, one evening. There was music and video while we dined, and an amazing story shared of the love and work that has gone into the restoration of this property, by Sara's father and family. The attention to every detail and the cleanliness is excellent. This was the perfect way to end our vacation ~ relaxing and welcomed by a lovely family.

We booked here to stay for 4 days in early May 2019. For us, it was perfect! From the moment we arrived we felt welcome, and that we had made the right choice for the last nights of our stay in Sicily. The location, on the lower slopes of Etna, with wonderful views over the wide bay of Catania below, and to the summit of Etna above, was perfect for a country retreat. The hotel is in a series of buildings, rebuilt since 2005 to a very high standard. Basically, it's a beautiful place! Because of its history, the rooms are all individual, ours had a big balcony, where we sat late into the evening, enjoying the views and the tranquillity. It's a good base to tour the area from, and the 2 closest small towns are good to walk around. You can drive up Etna easily, or go down to the sea. The great treasures of Randazzo and Taormina are about 40 minutes by car.
It a very much a family owned and run concern. Sara is the perfect hostess, delightful and always helpful. Breakfasts are great, and for guests there is home cooked dinner, which you sign up for in the morning, if you want it. Mama and sister Catarina are both great cooks.
I can't recommend it highly enough. It's great value too.

This was the last 2 nights accommodation in Italy and I could not have wished for any better. The accommodation, the service and the food was simply excellent. They add something very special to your stay. As an example the welcome drinks and snacks when you arrive. It is family run with all participating - Mama's food is not to be missed. Sara's service is beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend this establishment!

I've been here three hours and already it is the best hotel I've ever stayed in! The staff is awesome! They brought us cake and beers on the terrace once we got settled. They were overly accommodating with my 90 year old grandmother. They even helped us track down our relatives in the area. The food was fresh and local at dinner and you can't beat the view! I recommend this to anyone visiting this area of Sicily!
