Right outside of Florence, with a beautiful view - this place is A MUST for their terrace from spring through fall! We were here at the beginning of March, we sat in the sun and had the loveliest meal. Highly recommended are the prosciutto and carciofoni antipasto and the tagliata di manzo with rosmarino. We will definitely be back for the delicious-looking, generosity-sized portions of pasta and the pleasant service.

You want that perfect atmosphere in Tuscany with great Italian food l - this is your restaurant: directly located on a hill you can enjoy the great scenic view (insider tipp: ask for the outdoor table (No. 7) in the very left corner - panorama view not only over the nearby old chapel but you can even overlook Florence and the famous Cathedral. Super friendly staff and the food is just amazing!!! Food tipp: pecorino cheese plate as a starter, then the pici pasta followed by a vegetarian „nostalgia mellanzine“ a filled aubergine - amazing! For me definitely the best restaurant I went to in Tuscany! I went there two times (one evening it was cloudy, one had the perfect sunset) and I‘ll come back for sure!

Oh my I was not prepared for it to be this good. We had the florentine steak and a recommended red wine with it. Oh my heavenly. Went back one more time because it was that good!! View was also amazing and staff was friendly and spoke English

We went this evening, Monday. It was a quiet evening. Ordered the Pecorino Cheese Platter with Honeys, it was incredible. The owner, who is absolutely phenomenal, (I'll get more to that) explain each cheese and honey as well as pair us a nice wine with our main course, Bistecca Fiorentina. The cheeses were incredible, creamy, flavorful and aromatic in the best ways. Then came the Steak Fiorentina, the owner came out with the steak pre-cooked to show it off and to show just how tender the meat was. This was far and away the best Steak we have ever tasted, just amazing beyond words. Then, after our meal he wanted to show us the view of Florence at night from the patio, but first he gave us homemade Limoncello shots. After seeing the view from the patio, he then attempted to get us a taxi, but taxis did not want to come out there at that time. After multiple attempts to get a cab for us he then said, "come this way". We followed and he took us to his car, where he then offered to take us back to our hotel. Just unbelievable kindness.
This restaurant is an absolute GEM of Tuscany, owned by one of the nicest men I have had the pleasure meeting. Cannot say enough kind words. A truly one of a kind experience. Grazi Mille!!!

We wanted to find a genuine Tuscan restaurant outside of the tourist traps of Florence... and we hit the jackpot! We arrived around 9pm and were welcomed by a lovely man named Robert. He turned out to be the chef and owner of the establishment. We ordered Florentine style steak and a bottle of house wine. The restaurant was charming and wholesome. Robert himself brought the steak and cut it at the table. Cooked to perfection. Even the sides (potatoes, zucchini blossoms, artichokes) were incredible. I can say that it was one of, if not the best meal I have ever had. When it was all done and we were completely full, Robert prepared us a spread of desserts which were equally amazing. Dark chocolate fondant cake with caramelized orange peels and phenomenal cheese cake with blackberry jam. Absolutely heavenly. The meal was very reasonably priced as well for what we received. Do yourself a favor and skip the tourist trap Americanized restaurants in downtown Florence... take a 20 minute drive and enjoy the genuine Tuscany style cooking that Trattoria La Gargotta provides. You will not be disappointed.

Had a lovely meal here! We ordered the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina, roasted potatoes and Chianti Classico. The steak was cook over a fire and was done so - Perfectly. The roasted potatoes were soft on the inside but crunchy and well-cooked on the outside. The Chianti was one of the best I had in Tuscany. It was almost like a dream. We met lovely people, had amazing food and will go back again as soon as we can.

Excellent service, excellent food. Such a great view of Florance. Small but great selection of food. Not a tourist trap. A nice selection of gluten free food and desserts.

Lovely restaurant to enjoy a view over Florence and the Tuscan hills and enjoy a meal. The beef carpaccio was great, as was both mine and my wife's pasta. It's a bit of a drive up the hill so you will need a car, but definitely worth it for the views and food!

We arrived early without a reservation about 7 pm, and sat at the edge of the terrace watching the sunset over the Hills and the Arno (the Duomo visible even from the far corner table). A church steeple completed the atmosphere. Antipasti delicious prosciutto and artichoke, secundi of chicken cacciatore and beef stew— both lovely sauces. Big wine list, reasonable prices. Chianti riserva our choice. The young server was very helpful and amiable. Highly recommended for a restaurant in Bagno di Ripoli area. Food inspired by decades of local tradition, in our view tastier than local hotels or other trattorias.

Deliciously authentic Italian dishes, served with attention, in a breathtaking outdoor setting. A must!

One of the best restaurants we have been to in the whole of Tuscany region and it’s mainly because of Agim. He is a fantastic host and someone that we can definitely keep coming back to eat with. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. The hospitality was great, and the food was made with so much love, you can taste.

We go here with our family, they are all italiana, the day before we return to the states. They have a covered outdoor terrace that overlooks Firenze. It's a nice view but more importantly the food. We have always had good food and yesterday was no exception. The Bistecca alla Fiorentina was grilled perfectly with a nice char on the outside... I would give it a 8 on 10. We had a huge Filet which in general is much smaller. The meat on the strip side was a little tough do to the steak not having a lot of marbling.. The primi pasta dishes were excellent as were the side dishes. The cheesecake is excellent... Creamy and light... I would ask for the topping on the side.... We will be back on our last supper next year as always...

Excellent. Authentic Italian. Great atmosphere and delicious food.

I just wish we could give them more than 5 stars. This was one of the most incredible meals I have ever eaten. The chef came out to visit our table four times while we enjoyed each stage of our meal. The steaks were done to perfection and the deserts were out of this world.
