Pane e Vino

We stayed in Todi for two days on our way driving back up Italy. It's a great hill town in Umbria, and it's easy to see why it's been voted one of Italy's most livable places. While we were there, we found Pane e Vino, and liked it so much we ate there both nights.
The food is inventive and well-cooked, using ingredients which are traditional in a mountain area like this, but each dish felt fresh and considered.
The staff were helpful, and made excellent (and reasonably priced) recommendations for local wine, and the owner made us feel very welcome. He's a real character, and rattled through the menu in a mixture of Italian and English. I'd happily drive all the way back from the UK to Todi, just to have dinner there again.

Be open to suggestions and be very hungry! Our group of 7 enjoyed Pane e Vino a lot, such kind service, great food, seasonality, local specialties, one of the best restaurants we tried in Todi. The lune are perfect, highly recommended. Would love to come again!

It’s the first place after exiting the funicular from the parking lot. But that isn’t why it’s usually packed. It’s a local’s hangout and they rush in early. It specializes in seasonal dishes with agretti, wild asparagus or artichokes. Slow roasted. Try to sit on the ground floor if possible. You can sit outside but beware the smokers.

Always reliable. Usually one or two "slow food" dishes. Friendly proprietor.

What a wonderful lunch! Everyone was so kind to our family and we felt very welcome. Every course we had was fantastic. My favorite had to be the Pasta with truffles. The olive oil was so good we asked to buy a bottle to take away!

Fantastic friendly atmosphere, cosy and quaint. Food was just superb and very reasonably priced. For a family of four with main course, dessert, drinks and coffee came to 114 euros. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend and will be returning again.

Warm and welcoming. Very knowledgeable owner and his wife is the chef. The guinea fowl with chicken liver sauce special was our favorite. Definitely will return.

Great place. Extremely nice owner and staff. They don't speak much English and I speak less Italian. But it all worked out. Food was good and wine list was very reasonable.

Cozy place, warm environment, attentive waiters - recommended for a warm meal tucked away the town outside :)

Traditional food. A great selection of wines.
Start your meal with a plate of boar, goose, deer salami. Follow with one of the fantastic soups.

We had a late lunch with 1 year old. Staff were very helpful for gluten allergy. Family run. Menu in English.

Very good food and local wine. Had the pork knuckle which was very good. Great service.
