Il Miraggio in Val d'Orcia Relais & Spa

Incredibly beautiful hotel and setting overlooking olive trees and vineyards. Our room, Dante Suite, was spectacular decorated in a very memorable Italian motif. The breakfast and dinners were excellent but the staff was absolutely phenomenal. Angelo, the GM, is always around greeting and welcoming guests and making sure guests have a wonderful experience. He sets the tone for all the other staff members who are absolutely the friendliest team we met throughout Italy. I would rate this hotel a 10!

An outstanding hotel with fantastic staff. Excellent location for exploring this region of Tuscany. 10min walk into San Quirico which is a lovely place to eat and drink. Special thanks to Gian Luca for all his information. Restaurant food was really good and the breakfast was excellent.I would highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful boutique hotel which is gorgeous inside and out. Amazing views from the long terrace with many seating options (from their bar or BYO). During August we were treated to the sun setting every night over nearby Montalcino which was one of the most memorable and magical moments of my life (so far). The town of San Quirico D’Orcia (short walk from hotel) is awesome, smaller and less crowded with tourists than the other old towns. Plenty of different dining options there.
Hotel service was great and staff very nice, and always looking out for you. We ate one night at their restaurant which is in the cave cellar under the building. The meal was very very good (note it’s expensive) and was better than meals we had elsewhere at Michelin rated restaurants. If the weather is warm enough, breakfast on the terrace is also an amazing start to the day. Overall this is an amazing boutique hotel in the heart of Tuscany’s Val D’Orcia region, away from the crowds but still central to Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano.
Only a few gripes which are minor:
- hot water for shower is often luke warm
- the farmer nearby decided to burn all his olive cuttings so for a few days there was a lot of smoke around (partly this is the random price of being in the countryside).

I made a huge mistake by only booking this place for one night - if I knew miraggio is this good, I would have stayed for a week! The service here is also extraordinary, Angelo and his team really went above and beyond to make sure the guests are all taken well of. Not to mention the building itself is beautifully decorated, and the scenery is heavenly. I would highly recommend Miraggio to anyone who’s love to enjoy Tuscany view.

From the moment we got there the staff was excellent. Our room was the Vasari room. We were celebrating our honeymoon so they had flowers shaped in a heart on the bed. The food is excellent. The staff helpful in getting us a winery tour. It was a most pleasant 2 night stop for us. I would have stayed longer if we could have.

Luxurious, beautifully adorned property with wonderful, genuine service. Had a wonderful massage in their spa. They booked us a wonderful wine tour nearby. Restaurant is excellent as well.

Our room was large and very comfortable.

My partner and I we stayed there one night and it was an amazing experience for us to look at the great scenery and enjoy the great services provided by the hotel! The rooms are really nice and design in a classy and royale feel. We stayed in the Beatrice room and it is pretty small but should be good enough for two person!

Unbelievable. We were blown away with our short stay at Il Miraggio! The staff were the most welcoming and friendly, the location and rooms were gorgeous, and the restaurant (located in the wine cellar) was the best meal we had in all of Italy. We kept saying “I don’t believe they don’t charge more”! This is a true hidden gem in beautiful Val d’Orcia and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

I brought my wife to the restaurant at Il Miraggio to celebrate her birthday and the experience far surpassed anything I had anticipated.
For me, this hit the trifecta: great ambiance, great service and great food!
The eveing started spectacularly and ended even better!
Ambiance.
Both the restaurant and the hotel are set in a gorgeous, superbly appointed, old Tuscan farmhouse, looking out over an exquisite Tuscan valley, just outside the walls of the small and ancient town of San Quirico d'Orcia. The attention to detail literally of every inch of the property is immediately obvious.
The restaurant itself was in a cave that must have been many hundreds of years old. The lighting was spectacular and romantic.
Service.
You will not find better service anywhere.
We were greeted by numerous people from the hotel and each wished my wife a wonderful birthday.
After some prosecco at the beautiful and cozy bar as well as the outside seating area overlooking the valley, we walked down a short stairway into the restaurant for dinner and were seated at a splendid table.
Both Gianluca and Antonello catered to our every need in a very professional and non-intrusive manner, but were always there to serve us more wine and water when needed.
Food.
We had numerous dishes; from a salmon appetizer to a pasta with a zucchini pesto sauce, along with a sea bass and a meat entree. All were exquisite, imaginative and plated beautifully. These dishes were absolutely many steps above a typical Tuscan meal.
Timing was impeccable, flavors perfect and the meat cooked perfectly to my wife's wishes.
The lovely Italian owner of Il Miraggio, Rosina, stopped by to wish my wife a very happy birthday and to make sure everything was perfect.
To sum up, this was an absolutely perfect dinner for my wife's birthday. She was made to feel special by everyone and the food and great service was nothing less than spectacular.

Pure Bliss! Amazing hotel perched on a hill that will take you back in time. Staff is extremely helpful and attentive. Restaurant is in a cozy cave and has an amazing chef (we ordered the 5 course meal and every dish was Michelin-level surprise). This hotel is a hidden gem and perfect place to spend the night if you're looking to stay in Tuscany!

We stayed for one night on our way from Rome to Florence and it was amazing. The rooms are luxurious, the view is absolutely gorgeous over the Tuscan plains, the food is delicious and the staff is delightful. Amazing hotel! We also tried the spa which is also excellent! Would greatly recommend

This is the best place I’ve ever been too. What a wonderful creation by Felice and Rosina. This is not a “Miraggio” this is for real. Each morning when I woke up the dreaming continues. The room was outstanding. So much eye for detail. An absolute masterpiece! But when you leave the room the dreaming continues. All the lovely seats around the pool or rocking chairs near the roadside. The beautiful lounge. The restaurant - with high quality food and wine - where you can have diner in the wine cave. Every inch of Il Miraggio is a joy to look at. A what a team Felice and Rosina have. Il Miraggio is in our hearts forever and I loved to come back here.

The hotel is very well located just a few minutes of the medieval village of San Quirico

During our visit we were delighted with a fantastic lunch cooked by the Napolitan chef that is in charge, one of the best Risotto all’ amatriciana we ever taste 😋

The pool, spa, bar and all in general are amazing a truly 5 stars resort

Wow! Words cant describe what a wonderful time my husband and I had here. Its truly paradise! From the fantastic meals at their restaurant to the friendly and attentive staff everything was perfecto! It is was not a mirage,not an illusion- it was real! We had experienced a time travel back to belle époque! And everything was genuine: furniture, pictures ,sensuous smells and...the staff with a excellent leader Felice! -a very friendly ,attentive ,helpful, high class host who personally takes care of his guests from sunrise till sunset.... The staff is excellent as well,speaking all main European languages, very polite and helpful.The food and wine were amazing as well. You could see and feel Love in every detail!
