La Buona Forchetta

Fantastic authentic Sicilian food. Amazed at the one waitress skills (occasional back up from the owner) really knew her trade and reminded me of the French cafes and restaurants in rural South west France. Each evening always full. Portion sizes are enough to share. "Free jug of lemonchello" at the end. The set menu is not only good value but very good quality and choice "chef's choice", for those who like their food it is well worth a visit. Now my favourite restaurant in Castellamara del Golfo

We were two girls ordering the menu. Full after starters with awesome food, tried to keep up but took a lot of food home. Awesome service asking us if we wanted our leftovers to go. Heaps of food for a very good price. We love the atmosphere, food and people around. Just sad we could finish our food and disappoint our waiter. Will come back

Please visit here for cheap but amazing food and good cheap wine!! We went 3 rimes during a 1 week holiday and loved it everytime! Everything on the menu tastes amazing with special shoutout to the Rustica pasta dish (cream, mushrooms, sausage, bacon with local pasta... what's not to love!) And the meat stew (which is actually melt in the mouth meat in sauce over epic fresh pasta). Also the mixed starter was a huge winner, a little of everything! And there's a cheese & meats one too - we regularly jus got both. The trio of mixed meats for like €7/8 is actually a platter of about 5 things (fennel sausages, breaded pork, lamb skewer, some beef steak and some pork loin) - huge portion! And the breaded pork is heavenly. On the last night we also got the sharing meat platter and a giant beefsteak (most expensive thing on the menu) cooked to perfection and huge, about 800g!Wine is a mere €6 for a litre of house white and it's cold and tasty. Seating outside in a little side street so it can be noisy but 100% worth it!!

Best restaurant I ate in Sicily. I Will always remember and recommend. If you like Sicilian flavours you will be delighted with this place. They serve very fresh pasta, meat and vegetables. Big portions and accessible prices. The staff were very friendly and welcomed all guests with bruscheta and ended with a good limoncielo and fresh local fruits.

Amazing authentic sicilian food for unbelievably low price and lovely staff. Try their legendary bolognese and meats. Went there 3 times during a 7 day trip and will be back again for sure. Do not miss this hidden gem! <3

Steak was cooked to my liking and very tasty. Staff were very helpful and friendly, definitely recommend. And bill was pretty reasonable, will be back 👍

The fresh pasta is great, the meat boards look very generous & the cuts of cooked meat look superb & the Italians here tell me in Italian that those are very good as well. An additional plus is that you won't find food or drink in a restaurant outside or inside for prices like this & service like this in Castellammare Del Golfo, this place is exceptional. I tried to add photos but won't work unfortunately.

Amazing cheap pasta ! We had the Bolognese and rustica both delicious. The meat was a bit expensive but worth it. Good service good atmosphere. Recommended! Grazie!

Best restaurant I found in western Sicily.
Great traditional Sicilian food at a local price and not a tourist trap.

Out of 5 evenings spent in Castellamare, 4 of those were in La Buona Forchetta.

It’s not a fancy place by any means, it might not have a breathtaking sea view or unbelievable interior... But the food is great and the thoughtful touches of the staff leave you with the best impression.

The prices are so low, that we can actually compare them with our local ones (and I live in Eastern Europe, lol). I mean, imagine tasty beef for 7 euros. Where in Europe you’ve seen such prices?

Couldn’t recommend it enough. One of the reasons we were sad of leaving Castellamare - is that we won’t be able do dine in La Buona anymore.

An excellent genuine sicilian resto, recommended by a local. Nothing fancy but very tasty food, wines and friendly atmosphere. On top, extremely cheap comparred to the ones in the main touristic areas. And the first in Sicily i entered that does not include "coperto" in the bill! Bravo!

Honest and authentic Sicilian food.
We went there twice and loved it a lot. The cheapest place se could find around with the best service. They are very busy so I suggest to show up early than 9pm. Monica is amazing and often the guests are local people.

We have had 2 fabulous meals here this week so far, and shall be returning before the end of our holiday. Such good value and the owner and staff are so pleasant and welcoming. Go early if you want a table as it is very popular

The food is really tasty and there is more than plenty of it. It is in a really enjoyable way quite a local experience with everything nicely taking its time, possibility to sit outside close to parked cars, super busy waitress and surrounded by Italians with their children dancing around. It’s worth mentioning that in the end the price of our dinner was so affordable that I felt like we were stealing the food. Definitely worth the walk from the main strip!

The food here is simply amazing. The service was a little bit problematic, but the quality of dishes made up for it. It is a common problem here as not many people speak English fluently. Luckily, we were able to communicate without major misunderstandings. Just be sure you have a lot of spare time if you are about to order MENU' as the amount of food you will receive is ENORMOUS, especially for the price you are paying. 11/10

Authentic italian restaurant. It takes a while to get a table and order, but when the food arrives... oh boy, that’s a treat! Big servings, great, authentic food. If you were not born in Italy, take the menu for two - it’s plenty of food, you will be full. The tomato sauce is the best one I ever had! The Italians tend to be loud, take it as an experience. :)

Very good simple, rustic and authentic Sicilian restaurant.
We had the Antipasti della casa and Caprese (they don’t use Mozzarella but a local cheese) as starter and both were good. Pasta alla Norma was delicious - the best we had during our Sicily tour. Prices are reasonable and overall a very good value for money.
Highly recommended!
