It's a charming cozy restaurant with elevated food and really warm staff. Probably one of the top 2 restaurants in our 12 day trip to italy.

Located a bit away from the main foot traffic of san gimignano, this place feels like a secret spot tucked away in this castle town like a hidden alcove or tunnel side entrance that was converted into a restaurant.

I had the risotto and it was fragrant, light and creamy. Some of the other risottos in Italy I had was too crunchy and didn't appeal to my tastes, but this was perfect.

Their local tuscan wine was excellent even though I'm not a fan of white wine normally I have to admit that it went very well with the food.

Overall the decor was great, the food tasty and the service the best we had in Italy. Definitely you would be remiss if you went to San Gimignano and didn't stop for food here.

It is an honor to eat in Perucá, it really is an incomparable culinary experience, it is the best…. when you eat here your demands standard will undoubtedly be higher as it is, a perfect experience, which involves nice family ambience and top quality products, combined with the ancient Tuscan culinary art, in a word perfect! Highly recommend !

Amazing food, a true culinary experience!

My family went here for my mother’s birthday and we had a great time.

The meal started with a complementary mushroom soup, fresh bread, followed by our entrees which were all incredible.

(Sorry I did not take better photos)

Beautiful little restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food. We chose three dishes; the ravioli with pear and pecorino, the risotto with ham, zucchini and truffel, and the lamb with potato and celery beet. Everything was absolutely perfect. 10/10 I would recommend anyone visiting San Gimignano to have dinner here.

One of the best restaurants we had in Italy.
We had the fagottini (ravioli like) which was delicious. And the tiramisu was very good too!
We were offered a dish of pappa al pomodoro. The olive oil and bread selection were also very tasty.
The service was impeccable.

This restaurant and the people running it are the definition of Italian hospitality for me. Feels like a family. First of all I want to praise the sommelier; she recommended 4 glasses of local white wine to me with the various dishes and they were all spot on, interesting and generously pored. The food is well presented and more importantly very tasty. I was surprised by the large portion of risotto which to my eternal shame I couldn’t finish. Normally in Italy the portion is smaller to keep space for a main course. Unfortunately the octopus was finished otherwise I would have (also) had this in addition to my two starters (baccala and tonno in chianti). Loved the fact that when I left as one of the last guests the manager dat down with the sommelier to have their meal. Perfect evening, highly recommended and will return one day with the family.

This place was recommended to us by a local as a great place to get traditional Tuscan food. The risotto was the best I've ever had, and the boar was amazing as well. Most importantly, the staff were very careful with my wife's gluten allergy and brought fresh-made gluten free bread to the table. Highly recommended. Thank you Perucá!

The location is very nice, I was surprised by the menu covers and the place inside 😁
The food was tasty (small portions but good), the tiramisu was pretty unusual - and small as portion…
The overall experience is OK and worth it!

Skip the main streets of San Gimignano and come to this cozy restaurant where you will be rewarded with amazing Tuscan food all cooked from scratch in their award-winning kitchen. We had some great, traditional Tuscan dishes and then some amazing, mind blowing dishes that I’m still thinking about one month later!

You won’t regret coming here! Also it’s a tad cooler on hot days because it is a few steps down from street level with a cellar vibe.

Great food and marvelous location 😍
The owner and waiters are fantastic but the food and the wine......TOP!!!
This little restaurant is located in a old medieval town that in Italy are called borghi; inside the restaurant the atmosphere is cozy, relaxed and everybody is friendly. Food is typically from Tuscany, simple, good portions, fair price and delicious 👏🏼🤤😋
Let the waiters advise you about what to choose and you will not be disappointed!

Delicious food with lovely presentation and a very nice staff. We were very happy with the food here. Try the bruschetta and steak wrapped in pancetta. And of course they have Vernaccia which you must try if you haven't had it before. If you have had it before then you of course have to order it again!

Nice restaurant in San Gimignano with traditional Tuscan food. Fagottini stuffed with pecorino and pears, served with a pecorino sauce, pine nuts, pure San Gimignano saffron with medium-aged pecorino flakes on top was delicious and definitely the highlight of the my visit to Peruca restaurant.
Risotto with Cinta Senese ham, courgette flowers and seasonal truffle flakes was great too while the traditional wild boar marinated in red wine was a little bit disappointing because it was dry but that didn't ruin the overall experience that was great!
Highly recommended 👏

Tucked away on a side street in San Gimignano is an amazing gem offering delicious takes on traditional Tuscan favorites. Everything from the ambience, including vaulted brick ceilings and jazzy takes on pop hits, to the extensive wine list was perfection. The only complaint I can come up with is with so many delicious sounding options more people are needed to try it all. I guess we will just have to go back again.

The service was really good.

They serve typical Tuscan dishes, with good presentation and amazing recipes.

I would come back without any doubt.

This little tucked away gem was definitely one of the top highlights of our visit to San Gimignano. Our boys were exhausted from our travels through Italy by the time we made it to their doorstep. I swear the staff has the patience of saints! Even with all of the grumbling they didn’t bat an eye. We took turns eating while the other would take our fussy boy outside for air but still really enjoyed our meal. My husband ordered wild boar and it was one of the most tender, mouth watering things I have ever eaten. The interior has low lighting and the original stone walls give it a very romantic and authentic feel (without the angry toddler).

10/10, this place blew us over with its friendly service, great selection of local wines and delicious food. We had the The Spring Ricotta Cake and Burratina for starters and The farmer’s Fagottini with Pecorino and The Eggplant Parmigiana for mains, each were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant.

When we arrived it was empty and we were a bit concerned, but what a wonderful lunch we had! It's located in a secondary street, away from the noise of us tourists 😜 and with air conditioning. I strongly recommend il Dorsetto as a main (secondo), the meat is so soft you barely need a knife! As a dessert, if you are a truffle lover and someone who loves a taste challenge, definitely have the bavarese with truffle, chocolate and black salt - very creative and again, it's a challenge but worth the try!

Wonderful experience from the beginning to the end. Starting for the place itself, cosy, intimate and beautiful as you were in a medieval castle. Continuing with the impeccable service. A gentile waiter served us in Spanish, making us a way easier to order and communicate with him. Lastly, the food was extraordinary. Simply delicious and perfectly cooked and served. You end up full, and even though you can probably eat more because the quantity of food of each option might be more, you don't need more at all. Price, fair. It's worth what you pay. My wife and me walked out totally satisfied with our experience in Perucà. Highly recommended.
