Wow!!! This beautifully ornate war memorial is a must see in Messina! If your lucky enough to have Marcello walk you through ( war veteran who volunteers there) and explain all the details and the meanings and symbolism it will give you chills. Gorgeous views and architecture. Worth it to go in! Enjoy!

This dome is the burial place of many soldiers. We were guided there by a nice gentleman who is a veteran. Despite his poor English, he told us a lot about the history of Messina. I recommend also walk around the building for amazing panoramic views.

A peaceful, simple and evocative memorial to those Italian soldiers who lost their lives in the allied attack on Messina. Go to reflect on the impact of war not just to look at the view of the town and harbour.

The Shrine of Christ the King is located on Viale Principe Umberto. The building was opened in 1937. The Shrine of Christ the King has an octagonal shape with a high dome where eight bronze statues have been added and at the top of the access staircase is the statue of Christ the King by T. Calabrò.

One of the important places to visit in Messina. The view from up there is awesome. The church itself is a great architectural delight. It's historical and cultural. Walking all the way up there was an experience. Stay some time there and relax. Have coffee ☕. Don't forget to take pictures. The view in moonlit night is extraordinary
