Bed and Breakfast Il Calicanto

this B&B was the add on to our lovely 3 nights stay at Vico Equense. The house is 5 minutes walking from the city center and you can reach it only by walking through a countryside area, we loved this! The house has several rooms, all properly furnished and clean. Indeed one has sliding frosted doors, has it was stated by another guest, but the two used by my family were normal wood doors with stunning panoramas. Since no car can get there, the area is really free noise. Last but not least the breakfast was the cherry on top!

Tengo excelentes recuerdos de nuestra estancia allí hace 5 años. Perfecto para visitar la costa amalfitana, Capri, Pompeya,... Los propietarios encantadores, vinieron a buscarnos, nos dijeron donde aparcar, nos llevaron el equipaje en una Vespa. Las vistas preciosas y el desayuno en la terraza una maravilla con la buganvilla como marco y unas vistas espectaculares.

Our room was large but dark and there was a musty smell in the room. We were concerned about privacy as the doors to the room are sliding frosted glass doors. You can see movement inside the room, this is extremely uncomfortable especially at night when the light is on inside the room. The room is on the ground floor so every guest staying at the guesthouse needs to walk past the room. As a previous guest stated, the breakfast is lacking although the gentleman who served the breakfast was lovely. The location is a steep climb up a hill so you need to be in adequate physical condition, especially in the afternoon heat. Our stay here was our only regret in beautiful Vico Enquense.

Very dishonest people managing the property. The rooms were also dirty. FYI it's a 10 minute strenuous walk up a hill (no cars allowed) to get to the place. So if you have luggage it's far from ideal.
