Funivia del Faito - Stazione a monte

Excellent views across the bay of Naples to Vesuvius in the distance. Cable car (funivia) very easy to access right next to the station at Castella Mare di Stabia.

At the top you can partake in pony trekking, para gliding and other activities or relax at one of the restaurants/ bars.

Cable cars are about every 20 minutes and hold about 30 people, return trip is €8.

The top has an "alpine" feel to it and is considerably cooler than the town below, a great place to escape the heat.

It's worth it to go up as you would see the amazing view of the city, the coast and Mt. Vesuvius. You can hike and see Capri and Anacapri on rhe other side of the mountain. It's so relaxing! There are bars on the top of the mountain where you can eat and buy souvenir.

Great ride up to the mountain. Lovely and cool on top. Right next to the train station so really easy from sorrento.

Tourists currently pay 9,50€ for going up and down. One way takes about 7 minutes and up there in the evening it can get fresh so be prepared.

Amazing views and an incredible activity. You can see the whole Bay of Naples, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Capri and more from the summit. The ride leaves roughly every 30 minutes. Buy tickets. From within the train station, then walk right along the platform.

A great way to capture stunning views of Castellamare and Sorrento. At the top there is a woodland walk that brings you across to the most amazing views of Sorrento and the Amalfi coastline. There are also cafes with great food and friendly service. I had the most amazing Cafe Nutella and delicious brucetta.

fantastic tourist attraction, especially because of beautiful views and the nought of people here (what surprised me - Pompei is so close); perfect place for mountain hiking or bicycling (the cable car carries bikes as well); on the top you can find a lot of restaurants, cafes and other tourist facilities; one warning- the temperature is a little bit lower at the highness, so I recommend to take some warm clothes

This is a must have if you travel to Castellammare di Stabia. The view is beautiful from the top of the mountain, and also from the cabin too

Oh my god this was so scary I wanted to sit down and at the same time I wanted to see everything. For €8 it's worth it. They actually let you out at the top and walk around where the old resort used to be but there's nothing left. As of October 19, 2021, there is a restaurant up there, but I don't know if it only runs on the weekends. Otherwise it's a nice place to start or trail hike along the mountain ridge.

If you are in Naples do not miss this magic place. You can get there by car (about 1 hour from Naples) or by train - train station Castellammare di Stabia is very close to Funicular station. You can check the funicular schedule on the website eavsrl.it (every 20 minutes). If you go up you will see the most beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvi. Turn right after the exit from the funicular.

Very nice view. Friendly staff.. We was in April and its a good time cause there werent many tourists.. Fresh air in the mountain. Nice place. I very liked it.. 😍

Well worth taking the funicular for the amazing views of Vesuvius. A short walk from the top gave us equally stunning views of the Sorrento peninsula and the island of Capri

Cheap cable car up to Monte Faito. Takes about 8 minutes. Worth every minute and cent.

Incredible view, perfect location for hiking into the forest.
