Tuscany Slow Travel - Viaggi Senza Fretta

We have been very fortunate to visit the lovely countryside of Tuscany four times. Each time we have had the opportunity to have Lucia Norrito of Tuscany Slow Travel to serve as our guide for unique experiences in Tuscany. Her personal, geographical, historical and social knowledge of Etruscan heritage as well as her passion for Tuscany provides for interesting and exciting adventures. Since we have rented a villa that accommodates 16 people, we have to be selective about various interests. Lucia, with her professionalism and cheerful warm personality, has ALWAYS picked activities that are never “touristy” and fulfill our needs and desires. She is very engaging with everyone and never lacks for conversation or just plain fun. We cannot imagine traveling to Tuscany without Lucia !

I took on the task of planning a summer family trip for 16 people to Italy this year. As expected, it was overwhelming as I had to consider the diversity of ages in our group, as well as interests, etc. I was also concerned that due to traveling during peak season we would end up hassling crowds, but thanks to Lucia’s creative ideas & suggestions, it was a non-issue. Lucia helped me plan an amazing trip, one that we will ALL cherish for a lifetime! She helped coordinate a wide range of activities that were fun & educational for everyone, and the next time we travel Tuscany, I will definitely be using Lucia again. Lucia was awesome! She made the best suggestions for our group of 15 traveling through Tuscany. From the bike trip to the winery tour and cooking class all were perfect and enjoyed by all! I cannot recommend Lucia and Tuscany Slow Travel enough! We used her services for our trip to Tuscany last summer for a party of 13 people ranging from the mid-70s to four children age 10. She helped plan a birthday dinner at an amazing local vineyard where we had a tour and a private tasting, a bike tour and lunch at a local castle in Radicofani, an all day trip to Florence including a transportation, a private tour and lunch, and numerous other outings and meals for our large and diverse group. Lucia spoke to me several times via Facetime before our trip to answer questions, gather information about our party, and help plan our itinerary. When we arrived she offered to meet us for lunch in her local town at a lovely restaurant, and we had the chance to connect and finalize all the details for our week long stay in Tuscany. She was so kind, patient and informative - answering all our many questions and offering advice about the best towns to go to, restaurants, and even small details like the best place to park. We could not have done this trip without a local professional like Lucia and cannot recommend her services highly enough. Tuscany is an incredible place to visit but it is also very large and overwhelming - you need the services of someone on the ground to help with planning and other details to make for a perfect trip!

Such a great experience working with Lucia during our trip to Val d'Orcia and Florence in June of 2023. She made the planning process a breeze and the day of activities were really well organized. I have been privileged to enjoy Lucia's expertise both in 2018 and in 2022. The daily excursions she arranges are always interesting and well guided, with Lucia herself adding much information to the experience. And Lucia always seems to be enjoying the excursions as if they were happening for the very first time. Lucia organized the most outstanding trip and assortment of experiences for our group. From ebikes to a truffle hunt and private olive oil tasting with 8-course lunch—to an interactive spritz and apertivo class and private picnic lunch and wine tasting on an exclusive estate—every moment was bliss. We were able to experience the Tuscan countryside and all that makes it so special through the eyes, pallets, and hearts of locals that Lucia knows as friends. Lucia was a wonderful guide for our group of 14. She is so knowledgeable and educated on the area she lives in. We had experiences that I feel most people don’t get to have as a tourist. We met amazing locals along the way and had intimate interactions due to Luchia’s planning. On top of all of that Lucia is a sweetheart.
