Ristorante alla Balestra

We visited from San Francisco, CA, and absolutely loved the cappitella dish we had here. It had prosciutto and ricotta inside homemade pillows of pasta, wish a generous amount of truffle shaved on top. With an awesome sauce too! Friendly staff. We’ll never forget this dish!

Try for the garden at lunch. Plenty of shade. We shared polenta with mushrooms and pork sausage. We rated it top level. But then the roast pork with onions in wine reduction sauce came out and I thought my heart was going to stop. Local wine and a side of spinach finished off the best meal in Umbria in a week. Two hours in the sweet smell of spring and all for 40 Euro.

We had a takeaway pizza here which we ate on the balcony of our hotel which was delicious. We then went for lunch the next day which was good. The staff are lovely.

We came to eat a pizza but unfortunately the place was fully booked on a saturdaynight. This is always a good sign! Nonetheless the owner let us stay to eat a pizza and leave, very nice gesture. This is the best pizzeria in Gubbio. Recommended and reserve a table in advance to avoid dissapointment.

Behind an unassuming facade lies a big restaurant with a garden view, and some of the best gnocchi and filled pasta we had in Umbria. Several vegetarian options. An unexpected surprise!

Going to a restaurant with kids? You always end up with a pizza in order to start and finish together with them. But this restaurant found something clever, a primi and secondi for kids. So that we all together could have a nice and very tasty dinner. Perfect! Only negative is the high temperature in the garden.

A loveley place for lunch or dinner , in the summer time the terrace is open and you can enjoy your food surrounded by locals in a medieval atmosphere . Food is wonderful .

Posizionato su una delle via principali di Gubbio, si presenta come locale molto curato e con cucina a vista (senza che gli odori invadono la sala). Personale cordiale, menù ricco con possibilità di scelta di vari antipasti ,primi, secondi, contorni e dolci. Ci sono proposte anche di menù turistici. Ho scelto il Friccó, incuriosito da questo piatto della tradizione locale e sono rimasto sorpreso della bontà e genuinità dello stesso. Prezzi nella media e titolare molto gentile e disponibile. Abbiamo pranzato il 31 dicembre con un gruppo di amici in questo ristorante. Tutte le portate buonissime e di giusta dimensione. Siamo partiti con un antipasto di salumi tipici eugubini e bruschette, come primo delle tagliatelle al sugo d'oca, secondo maialino con funghi porcini, insalata, patate al forno e per dolce una crema chantilly con sfoglia e caramello. Il tutto annaffiato da ottimo vino della casa. Il servizio ai tavoli è stato impeccabile. Ragazzi giovani ma molto bravi e professionali. Nel nostro gruppo c'erano varie intolleranze ma le hanno sapute gestire alla perfezione. L'ambiente è molto spazioso e gradevole. Anche il rapporto qualità prezzo è stato ottimo. Un grazie particolare ad Elena per il servizio in sala ed al proprietario Signor Leandro. Senz'altro un ristorante da consigliare per chi va a Gubbio. E se dovessi ricapitare LA BALESTRA sarà senz'altro il mio punto fisso per un buon pranzo o una buona cena!!!

Posto bellissimo ,tranquillo , ambiente accogliente con giardino interno . Abbiamo preso due menù degustazione, uno classico ed uno al tartufo. Le portate erano sapientemente cucinate, tagliatelle al ragù, tagliatelle al tartufo, bruschette, frittata a tartufo, piatti molto buoni e dolci fantastici. Il personale molto gentile e quattro chiacchiere col titolare non mancano mai, è stato un piacere!

Sorprendente ed inaspettata scoperta.
Inoltrati per convenzione dalla struttura che ci ospitava, ci siamo ritrovati in un ambiente accogliente e vivo come piace a noi. Provato entrambi i menù degustazione, pensando fossero solo delle "degustazioni", invece erano dei bei menù pieni e soddisfacenti. (ero pronto ad aggiungerci un pizza finale che non è servita)
La sera successiva ci siamo tornati senza nemmeno cercare altre location. Anche le pizze ci sono piaciute molto.
Quattro chiacchiere col titolare non mancano mai, è stato un piacere!
Dovessi ricapitare in zona andrei li subito.
