Amazing restaurant with a great location and great food. The view to the vineyards in Piedmont is spectacular, and the service is also excellent. The best value for your money. The wine there is also great.

What a great experience dining at the La Ciau Del Totnavento. Everything about this restaurant from the stunning view, service and great dishes makes it worthwhile it's Michelin star and without a doubt one of the best restaurants we have dined in Langhe region.

The setting of the restaurant overseeing the hills itself is a sight, service by the staff was special, from wine recommendations to ensuring we had a lovely meal it was perfect.

All the dishes we tried were delicate yet had great flavours and paid homage to the local ingredients, fine dining standards but yet staying true to the texture and flavours of the dishes. Overall a great dining experience.

We had a your of the private canteen and what a special treat that was, housing more than 50K bottles, it's a sight to behold. The passion and discipline to create a collection like this is just immeasurable. Made the whole dining experience even more special.

Langhe has some amazing restaurants from small Trattoria, to Osteria and some special restaurants and this one makes it up the list.

Just the best! Excellent food, great wine, and the most friendly staff you can imagine. We ate the surprise menu with accommodating wines for lunch - no room for dinner later, just some small pieces on their terrace.
Staying right there in the hotel rooms, we can highly recommend. Much better not to drive after all the nice wine.

I am giving La Ciau a sentimental five star review. I have eaten here half a dozen times over the years and every time has been a memorable experience. The location is amazing. The wine list is fantastic. Where else can you have a five hour lunch overlooking the Swiss alps! I will confess that the menu was not quite as perfect as the last time I visited. They have re-interpreted some of their best dishes in a way I wish they had not - but it was still a great lunch.

We enjoyed an excellent meal with impeccable service. The knowledgable and professional staff was right on. The food was very imaginative and well presented. The wine list is one the best. The cellar is beyond words.

Maurilio Garola and his young team have earned best ratings - both for excellent food and an absolutely stunning wine selection but also for a very relaxed athmosphere with a breathtaking view. A must-visit, if you travel to Piemont.

Just spectacular!
Amazing service, food, vibe, wine cellar, design an just about everything.
The selection of d’Yquem and DP is just crazy, also the selection of Monfortino. There are a lot of examples from a lot of places on Earth (on the wine list), in my opinion the only downside to the wine list is that it’s too much Centred on big format bottles.
The food is top notch! Great quality of ingredients, and top of the line cooking.
Will come back for sure.

Who doesn’t love this restaurant? Have you even been to Langhe if you haven’t ate here? 10/10 must try. Best wine cellar I’ve seen. Great staff. Beautiful scenery.

Amazing food
We got ham, lobster risotto, selection of piemont cheeses and of course ice cream with rum.
The only pity that stuff dint know the names of the cheeses because we really wanted to know to buy after 🤗

Literally astonishing location, curated and with an incredible view of the hills. Food was marvellous, really an exceptional taste. They also served us a welcome starter and some delicious pastries with coffee. Service was very professional but without any personal touch, would have like something more to complete my experience. Wine was fantastic as well. Overall, price is fair considering everything you're getting. Certainly not a cheap lunch but worth the experience.

Absolutely fantastic experience, the food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Our hotel had notified them that we are vegetarians, they were ready for us and prepared yummy dishes.
The wine cellar is marvelous, must see.

Absolutely stunning view. Amazing food quality and a must visit place. The food, service and atmosphere are fantastic. The menu is extremely versatile and the place hosts a wonderful wine selection. Worth a detour if you are in the Alba area. The place is pet friendly and it's recommended to book in advance.

We had a wonderful experience! The place is magnificent. The staff is professional, friendly and efficient. The food is off the charts amazing. Everything we order was cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive. This place has the 2nd largest Italian wine cellar in Italy, so getting to see the wine cellar was the cherry on top! I strongly recommend taking the time to visit this place. You will not regret it! Make sure you make reservations ahead of time so you don’t miss out!

We kind of stumbled upon La Ciau on our recent vacation. The agriturismo mentioned the restaurant & we happened to walk by exploring the village of Treiso. They were able to accommodate us for dinner and it was amazing! We’ve dined in some very high end restaurants and this was on par! The visit to the wine cellar is a must, it’s the largest collection in Italy, in a tiny little village in Piedmont, fantastic!

Worth an international trip!!
The location is breathtaking, with views extending for over a 100 miles, with the manicured vineyards on the rolling hills the Langhe and the snow capped crests of the Alps as a background.
Then comes the food, wine and service to match.
The food is traditional Italian haute cuisine at its best, with both fish and meat menus of standard portions, not teeny weeny nouvelle cuisine type nor oversized, intertwined by a generous selection of bite size delicacies from the chefs glorious repertoire. This is a culinary experience not to be missed.
As for the wine list, the owners of the restaurant have built the first or second largest collection of high end wines in Europe, focused on the Italian greats and Piedmont and Tuscany, and French premiers crus. For those with a passion for wine, this is the place to overindulge yourself with unique bottles and vintages, but there excellent bottles of all prices starting from around €30.00

For wine we had an Italian gem from another region, the wine that has been getting the most awards points from Italian guides, San Leonardo from Trentino Alto Adige, one of my favourites and definitely the best value for money on the market. A more balanced and elegant wine than the more tannic wines from Barolo.

The service was impeccable, personal and there is a great sense of teamwork in a familiar kind of atmosphere. Professional but not stuffy.

Overall the experience is absolutely first class, very refined and the price is right for this kind of quality. As compared to international cities pricing, it is an unbelievable bargain. Sure, you still have to get there, but worth the trip.

This place is an excellent example of a Michelin-stared chef at work. There are three tasting menues available: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. We ordered two and had a great experience. From the food to the view to the wine selection everything is world-class and top-notch. The fact that the restaurant sits in the middle of endless wineries certainly does not hurt ;-)

4.5
Very good food, one of the most pricy wine card tho. Compared same gaja vintages and they had a markup up of 25-50% - compared to other places such as guido from relais San Maurizio (which is already extremely expensive).
Otherwise very happy :)
