OMG! What an amazing place to visit while in Florence. My advice is to get the firenze card and visit as many places as you can. We didn't have to wait to get the tickets. The palace is amazing, it is spectacular, impossible to describe. Visit the tower as well, the view from the top is incredible!

Impressive building of Florence with so much history inside of its walls. It is located centrally, very easy to be found. Tickets can be bought online or onsite. You need at least 2 hours for visit to see the main hall and the other rooms with all the art pieces which are hosted there.

This place has lots to see and do in and around the area, it’s a very extraordinary place and I really enjoyed my time here. I would definitely recommend checking it out, the Palazzo is very nice and so are the museums here. Theres lots of lovely artwork, sculptures, statues, tapestries and other fine works to see. It’s definitely worth the visit.

Great place. However sometimes tower access is limited due to number of visitors. If it is your case you can still get a ticket to museum that is also gorgeous. Museum by itself is fine and the view from its windows are cool. Overall nice experience.

We did not pre book tickets, and were fortunate there was no queue to get in. You may be familiar with some of it from the Dan Brown film Inferno (starring Tom Hanks). It's an impressive building, had a QR download code (free) as an audio guide. Largely influenced by the Medici family as was much of Florence, well worth a visit while you are there.

Great tower that has a lot of history. The views from the top are amazing and the hall is huge lined with works of master painters. The rooms are great on your way to the top!

Pallazzo Vecchio made an incredible impression on me! The interiors are very richly decorated, room 500 is literally breathtaking.
This is definitely a must-see place in Florence! I recommend buying a ticket online a few days in advance, the cost is about €18, with the possibility of entering the Arnolfo Tower from which there is a beautiful view of Florence, it's really worth it!

Really great! Even after seeing a ton of great ceiling and church art, this was over the top. Not so much about the church as about an insatiable ego. It's all about Cosimo and the family. Fascinating.

Best view of the cathedral and dome in town! We wanted to check out best views and tried the Duomo as well as the Piazza Michelangelo. The Bell Tower at the vecchio was by far the best view of the main cathedral in dome. It's set up perfectly and there are multiple views on the way up. It's much less busy than the actual duomo and is also attached to a beautiful museum.

The Palazzo itself is incredible! We got lost so look for signs! The museum is mostly painted rooms and some incredible inlay woodwork pieces. In the piazza outside there is a water filler and it has two options. One for sparkling water (con gas) and the other is naturale.
Didn't love the museum as much as some of the others but if you want good views, check out the tower! Tickets sell out so be sure so get them in advance if possible. We got there early enough that we got some of the last tickets if the day in off-peak (closes early on certain days).

An important palace with a ton of history. Today it serves as both city hall of Florence and a museum where you can find part of the Medici art collection.

Ceilings and walls are covered with beautiful paintings. It’s a real treat to walk through the building.

Recommend visiting earlier during the day as it tends to sometimes be crowded with tour groups.

I took the secret passage tour, it was so good! And our tour lady was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed it a lot. If you're going to take it, plan more time than 3 hrs because it is not enough.

The building is beautiful, each room has its own little story, history. It was a little strange that the description often looked in a different direction to the central fresco in the room. But the map room was very special, it was nice to find our hometown on one of the maps. I would not recommend it so much for children, unless they are very into art and history.

Exploring Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, particularly the secret entrance tour, was a mesmerizing journey through time. Witnessing the opulence of the Room of Cosimo de Medici and the artistic splendor in the Room and Studio of Francesco de Medici was nothing short of breathtaking. The secret rooms unveiled hidden treasures, weaving an intricate tapestry of intrigue and history.

Walking through these chambers, adorned with magnificent art and steeped in the legacies of the Medici family, felt like stepping into a living museum. The secrets embedded within the walls, the intricate details of each masterpiece, and the tales of power and passion that echo in these hallowed halls create an immersive experience.

The Studio of Francesco de Medici, where creativity met influence, stood as a testament to the Renaissance spirit. The seamless fusion of artistic brilliance and political significance within these walls left an indelible mark.

Palazzo Vecchio's secret tour is not merely a visit; it's a plunge into the depths of Florence's cultural richness. The allure of hidden chambers, coupled with the captivating narrative of the Medici, makes this experience an indispensable highlight, a captivating blend of art, history, and the enigmatic charm of the Italian Renaissance.

Beautiful building. The Medici family lived here. The ground floor is free to visit. Upper 2 floor are museum and top most is still the Mayor's office. You'll appreciate the frescos on the wall

A must-see both outside and in! It is in the very heart of the city, a stone's throw from the Uffizzi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio.
I visited the on the first Sunday of November (2023), a lovely and warm but blustery day not that long after the river Arno in nearby areas (Prato and Pistoia) had flooded. The level of the Arno in Florence was indeed very high, looking very much like a flow of warm milk chocolate, not that dissimilar to the chocolate river in Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".
The Palace is impressive. It offers an intriguing insight into the city's history and has plenty of artwork to admire, not least Dante's mask (only a replica but displayed beautifully) which takes centre stage in Dan Brown's 'Inferno'.
You can read all about the Palace and its functions and history online, or get a guide when there, safe to say you'll need about an hour or so to visit it all.

Nice museum, good to visit with kids (but not too small). Mainly it is walls decorated with paintings. As a bonus, there is roof a terrace to enjoy a view on neighbor roof. Also there is a gallery above the main hall, quite impressive to see it from top

Another great historic building! I just toured the first courtyard, which is free by the way, and it was very nice. Also, keep an eye out for the mysterious face carving in the wall outside. According to Smithsonian magazine, it might have even been created by Michelangelo himself!
