Our stay at Il Ghiottone Umbro was magical! Thomas and Lisbeth are gracious hosts. The served us an amazing made from scratch breakfast every morning. They also cooked us a delicious dinner one night. A special treat! We appreciated all the special touches like tea in our room, advice for our day trips, and the gorgeous views. Our room was charming and immaculate. Perfect location to explore Umbria. Highlight of our trip!

I had the most amazing 3 night stay with Thomas and Lisbeth this past June. From the minute we pulled up, I felt so welcomed and at home. No task or request is ever too much for Thomas and Lisbeth - they are truly some of the kindest people I have ever met and I am so grateful they shared this little slice of heaven with us. Todi is a gem and the morning breakfasts are the perfect way to start the day - delicious and unique recipes, plenty to eat. The grounds are beautiful and rooms comfortable. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to escape the crowds, slow down and enjoy some delicious home cooked food and good wine.

An exquisite B&B with the most wonderful view over the valley below. The hosts are a wonderful Danish couple who have lived in Italy for some years. They prepare the most delicious breakfasts and are super helpful and service minded. Probably the best kept secret in Umbria.

We loved everything about our stay. Lisbeth and Thomas are wonderful hosts: helpful, welcoming, amazing chefs, and they have the best taste. The property, inside and out, is beautiful and a lovely mix of Italian countryside and cool Scandinavian interior design (they are Danish and I repeat, have the best taste). It's so fun to sit outside in the evening to enjoy the beautiful view over the valley and a drink and snacks made by our wonderful hosts. The breakfast is truly incredible. Everything is prepared fresh and beautifully, and the menu changes daily. It includes fresh juice, coffee, fresh fruit, amazing bread, butter, jam, some sort of yogurt/granola, chia pudding, etc., a creative main egg dish and fresh baked dessert. It's a real highlight; you have to experience it. The property is right next to a beautiful church and is a ten minute walk into the town of Todi, which is lovely. It's a really nice location to have a more countryside stay while being in walking distance of the town, restaurants, shops, etc. We fell in love with Todi and this special b&b. We'd love to come back and to also experience their cooking classes and experiences.

A wonderful place in the country side. Highly recommended.

You will feel welcome from the moment you arrive and when you leave you will hope to be coming back again soon. This is a place with subtle luxury, they take great care of their guests and give you just that little extra. Their cooking is delicious and their cooking class such a joy.

This is an experience that I enjoy looking back on. I went with my husband and his colleagues for the weekend and we stayed with our 1 year old son for two more weeks. The host couple tought him to say ciao ciao before we left and where very welcoming to our little one also.

I would wish for everyone to be so lucky to visit this special place at least once in their life.

After a friend raved to us about Il Ghiottone Umbro, it was the first place we booked on our (very first) trip to Italy. The home and the guest cottages behind it—where we stayed—are beautiful. The panoramic landscape, visible from seemingly everywhere on the property, is spectacular. Our rooms were bright and airy, with a lovely canopy bed and a glorious sunken bathtub. The owners, Thomas and Lisbeth, are gracious and solicitous. I made a big mistake not signing up for one of Lisbeth's cooking classes. The breakfast she made us (served in their dwelling-magazine-caliber kitchen) was just incredible: bread, granola, cake, and a zucchini frittata, all prepared from scratch. Their three cats hang around outdoors, which made us feel even more at home. This is a magical place, worth building a visit around.

Beautiful little B&B just below the Umbrian town of Todi with charming owners who cook the most delicious breakfasts. We will definitely return!

Siamo tornati al Ghiottone Umbro per la seconda volta e, come la prima, siamo rimasti incantati dalla bellezza del luogo, la gentilezza di Thomas e Lisbeth e dalle loro super colazioni.
Torneremo sicuramente.

Siamo stati in questo meraviglioso posto dal 14/08/18 al 17/08/18 dire che siamo stati bene e' poco, benissimo. Titolari accoglienti, simpatici e professionali, posto meraviglioso arredato con gusto, pulitissimo e con tutti i confort, c'era tutto quello di cui avevi bisogno e piu'. Ora parliamo della colazione gustosissima con pietanze diverse ogni mattina, una infinita' di portate e soprattutto servito a tavola, la cosa simpatica e' che tutto si svolge in una grande tavolata dove si chiacchiera si mangia in un clima rilassante sotto un pergolato. Il mio cuore e' rimasto li in questo posto incantato.

Merveilleux B&B les petits déjeuners sont parfaits, variés, copieux, grâce â d'inventivité de notre hôte. La vue des chambres est panoramique la terrasse en fin d'après midi est idéale pour se reposer des sorties exploratrices de la journée une adresse à retenir pour qui desire visiter l'Ombrie. J'oubliais de préciser que nos hôtes sont danois et qu'ils ont créé une belle histoire italo-danoise. Bonne découverte

Nulla da eccepire. È un luogo FANTASTICO. A partire da Lisbeth e Thomas, passando per il servizio eccellente, il comfort della location, arredata con gusto e sobria eleganza, l’offerta di eccellenza di cibo ottimo, per finire con il panorama caratteristico in un ambiente di relax e profumi. Consigliatissimo! Bravi. Todi ottima posizione per visitare buona parte di centro di interesse dell’Umbria

Ein wunderschöner Ort zum Übernachten. Da wir, wie fast immer nur auf der Durchreise waren, haben wir nur eine Nacht hier verbracht. Und wir wären gerne länger geblieben. Ein Highlight hier? Das Frühstück ganz klar! Auch wenn die außergewöhnliche Kreationen vielleicht nicht jedermanns Geschmack sind, auf jeden Fall top!

Proprietari sono delle splendide persone, ci siamo trovati veramente bene. Ogni mattina un ottima colazione preparata con maestria. Consigliatissimo

KONKLUSION:
At være gæst hos Thomas og Lisbeth er en gennemført oplevelse, der varmt kan anbefales.

MADEN:
Ved vores seneste besøg boede vi der i to uger, og vi besøgte derfor mange restauranter i Todi og byerne omkring. Konklusionen var, at den lækreste mad i området finder man hos Il Ghiotone Umbro. Maden er autentisk Italiensk, men med gode twists. Niveauet er tårnhøjt og stemningen er nede på jorden.

MORGENMADEN:
Morgenmaden består af tre retter med frisk juice og kaffe. Den er på samme tid indbydende, smagfuld og sund. Det er overdådigt og overgår hvad man kan finde nogen andre steder, medmindre man sammenligner med restauranter i de allerhøjeste prisniveauer. En perfekt start på dagen.

KOGESKOLEN:
Kogeskolen en hyggelig og lærerig oplevelse, som helt klart bør prøves mindst én gang i løbet af opholdet, hvis man i øvrigt sætter pris på at lave mad.

STEDET OG VÆRELSERNE:
Udenfor er udsigten formidabel, og der er simpelthen billedskøn smukt. Det er et sted, hvor det er let at slappe af. Indenfor er indretningen præget af det skandinaviske og meget gennemført. Min kone kiggede oprindeligt efter hoteller i andre byer, da det var tanken at køre rundt i Umbrien og bo et par dage i forskellige byer, men hun nåede frem til, at der intet var i nogenlunde samme prisniveau, der kunne matche dette. Jeg var let at overtale, så vi endte med at blive dér under hele ferien. Det valg var vi godt tilfredse med. Der er fire værelser med forskellig indretning og størrelse. De er alle charmerende på hver deres måde. Der er rent og kræset for detaljerne. Vi oplevede, at der ikke var en finger at sætte på noget.

GÆST AF HUSET:
Lisbeth og Thomas er lette at tale med, og de er gode til at give tips, ideer og inspiration til steder at besøge, aktiviteter m.v. Som dansker er det derudover afslappende, at der er muligheden for at tale om tingene ud fra en "dansk kontekst", men der er på stedet besøg af gæster fra hele verden. Da der er få værelser, forbliver det dog også en personlig oplevelse, hvor man lærer hinanden lidt at kende, og det har vi sat pris på.

AFSLUTTENDE BEMÆRKNINGER:
Efter mit første ophold hos Il Ghiottone Umbro for 6 år siden var min tanke, at det ikke var et spørgsmål om, hvorvidt jeg senere skulle tilbage, men et spørgsmål om hvornår. Sådan blev det og sådan har jeg det fortsat efter 3. besøg.

Burj Al Arab har angiveligt 7 stjerner, men jeg foretrækker Il Ghiottone Umbro, så I min bog får Il Ghiottone Umbro 8 stjerner.

Fantastisk oplevelse med skønne værelser og smuk udsigt og en utrolig mad oplevelse at være med til at lave mad.

Et fantastisk sted med alt hvad hjertet kan bære. B&B og pragtfuld mad.
