Osteria Valle

When we were looking for a place to eat after my daughter’s concert, Osteria Valle took us in although it was past their opening hours. They informed us that their menu would be limited at that hour but the lamb chops and lasagna we ordered were so yummy! Both servers we engaged with were so nice and kind. And their outdoor seating at night was so beautiful.

A modern take on classic Umbrian cuisine. Simone, the owner explained the dishes and his inspiration - he is a wonderful host and incredible how he puts his personal touch on all the tables and guests.

He is both personable, attentive and knowledgeable. We loved his friendly staff too who were always available.

The food was on another level. When you've had one too many traditional style dishes, this just mixes it up very well. The smoked goose was such a great way to start on a bed of bitter and fresh rocket and drizzled with Modena balsamic. Delicious pairing.

The cuttlefish was cut and mixed with vegetables, it's deep flavour shined through and was definitely a unique combination.

Pasta was as Al dente, perfect with the sauce and truffle. Best pasta we've had so far on our trip.

Lastly, the limoncello was a great digestif to end the meal on such a high note.

Food was delicious and beautiful. Highly recommend the tonnarelli alla gricia con tartufo and the pan fried duck breast. Lovely outside dining, lively atmosphere, good music and reasonably priced. Such a great experience!

Came across this lovely Osteria whilst sheltering from rain storms.
Full of locals eating, great traditional food, lovely service. A well spent few hours.

Loved it here. We had the tuna tartare special which was delectable. The white wine they recommended was great and refreshing. And the artichoke pasta was delicious. The staff were super friendly and the ambiance was great. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful restaurant. The food is a sensation and the service exceptional. Do yourself a favour and go!

I would highly recommend the Tonnarelli alla Gricia con tartufo (Gricia prepared without eggs and without tomato, only with guanciale , pepper and pecorino cheese which is used “bind" the pasta as it comes in contact with hot pasta, it melts, forming a kind of cream) and the Tartare di manzo con cuore di burrata, pomodori secchi e pistacchio

Great atmosphere, great food and especially for wine drinkers I had a local wine recommend from the staff and i loved it great wine . Great for families too. I highly recommend this place.

Authentic Italian home cooking in a cosy restaurant just outside the city centre. Definitely one of the better meals we had in Todi, with every dish packed with flavour. The menu highlights allergens, and I would say the only negative was that there’s no gluten free pasta, which meant I couldn’t try their much-hyped rabbit ragu. Maybe next time!

We went there for our anniversary and it was a great experience! The food was delicious and staff were very kind and friendly. We'll definitely go again!

2024: Restaurant owner left the restaurant (and started Deli at the Popolo Square). Food is alright but quite salty.
Review of 2023: Very good restaurant. Nice service from the guys (and girl). Red wine is on room temp so a little too hot but the food is fantastic! Beef tartare with straciatella and pistiachios is the bomb

An exceptional experience.
Never before have I booked the same restaurant again for the next evening. Our experience on the first night simply blew us away, the second night was equally exceptional.
The friendliness and knowledge of the staff, the exceptional quality of the dishes and the very pleasant interior make Osteria Valle an absolute gem.

This place is fantastic! The service is amazing and so kind. The waitresses are very polite and service-oriented. The food was amazing - in fact the best I have eaten in two weeks in Italy. Both the wine and food was perfect, and worth every single penny. The athmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, and I recommend the Tagliatelle with Trafuto and bacon. Recommend this place 10/10!

A fabulous restaurant with the best food of our fortnight stay in Umbria - so good that we ate here twice in three days. The tartares are particularly terrific but the stand out dish for me was the pork with fresh berries - unbelievably good! Simon, the owner, also has two restaurants in Rome and you can tell. Everything in the restaurant is delivered with passion and class. Highly recommended

Delicious food, outstanding service by our charming waiter Michael. Loved the guinea fowl, polenta and truffle appetizer, duck and lamb chops main course and the apple crisp dessert! Easy to find on street just down from main Church (Chiesa, not the Duomo).

Charming restaurant outside of Todi’s main square with an ample outdoor seating area. The owner, Simone, whether in the kitchen or out on the floor, manages a very well staffed operation with gracious service and attention to detail. For appetizers we enjoyed the eggplant millefoglie and a baked pecorino cheese. Our entrees included a wonderfully presented steak tartare and I thoroughly enjoyed a delicate tripe dish in a white sauce with saffron. Both were delicious. All foods are fresh and locally sourced and the wine selection is quite good. Great option in a town with many good restaurants.

So brilliant, we went there twice! Stumbled upon this gem whilst in Todi and the food, atmosphere and service was brilliant. As a vegetarian there were good choices. After travelling Umbria for two weeks, this was our favourite spot. Highly recommend.
