Very nice central location in Bellagio. Took me 2 minutes after getting off the ferry to get to the hotel. There are a few steps but unless you're in a wheelchair you should have no problem getting there.
It is a small family run hotel and I found everyone there incredibly kind and accommodating. On arrival I was given a bottle of cold water which was very welcome considering how hot it was. Check-in was quick and they personally took me to the room. You are given a key card which works for your room as well as the front door if you're out past 10-11pm.
I found the room and accommodation excellent value. I had no trouble sleeping as the bed was comfortable, there was air con, and with curtains the room could be made dark even with the bright sun.
There was a free breakfast which was unexpected but very welcome. Your choice of sweet and savory options, and plenty of coffee to perk me up for the day.
My favorite part was the well-shaded garden area in front that was reserved for guests staying at the hotel. It was almost always empty and quiet - which was a nice change from the overwhelming crowds in the remainder of Bellagio.
I will be recommending this place to family and friends when I talk about my trip and would happily stay here again.

We found the hotel ‘Centrale’ online based on location, reviews, and the value for the money criterion. Now, after spending a week there, I am grateful of the people, who provided opinions, and want to add my ‘two cents’ by addressing the things that are a little less represented in the reviews, but make all the difference.

Centrale has a perfect location, if you want to spend a few days at beautiful Bellagio, the hotel is a three-minute walk (literally) to the center and lake piers, a three-minute walk up to the main street, which crosses Bellagio all the way.

The main thing, however, I wanted to highlight, is the hotel itself. It has the genuine charm and spirit of the lake Come area and Italy. Nice, lovely, not big, blossoming plants are everywhere. If you look closely, you will notice that every detail small and big was carefully thought through, beautifully designed, and functional.

That is not surprising, because the hotel is family owned. You will be greeted with a genuine smile and a desire to make your stay here the most pleasant. You will feel it during breakfast or while asking for information and advice. There is an atmosphere of unobtrusive warmth and comfort around, which sets the stage for a perfect vacation. That is what we have experienced during our stay, and we wish you the same!

Beautiful traditional hotel in the heart of Bellagio but only steps from the ferry and a 1 minute walk in any direction will lead to a good restaurant - Forma & Gusta was our favourite.
It was like being in Pinocchio-land.
My very favourite thing was the orange sink in the stylish bathroom - so quintessentially Italian.

I am quite late in writing this review, as I stayed at Hotel Centrale in late October 2022, just one day before they closed for the season. However, the hospitality and charm of this hotel has stayed with me throughout the winter season and I want to give credit where credit is due and thank them for a wonderful one-night stay.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was immediately greeted by Ramón, the cheerful black Labrador Retriever who clearly is boss. From the ivy-covered entryway to the flower-and-tree-filled courtyard, I immediately felt transported to a serene place despite how “touristy” Bellagio can feel. Hotel Centrale is operated by a family and so it’s easy to feel welcomed, both in communication with them in advance of your stay (book directly for good prices and service!) and once you have checked in.

Since I was one of only a few guests there, they assigned me their best single room, which included a small balcony that overlooked the courtyard. In the evening I received a wonderful recommendation for a pizzeria (Antico Pozzo – there was a line outside before they opened which included plenty of Italians, so I knew it would be delicious!). The next morning, I enjoyed a simple but tasty breakfast with handmade espresso.

Everything was clean and comfortable, and when it was time to leave, I didn’t want to board the ferry for my next destination, Como. It was a special experience to chat with the family about their gorgeous village as the tourism season winded down.

I can’t wait to return to Lake Como sometime soon, and when I do, I absolutely will stay here again. It’s a small paradise in a busy place, operated with love (and occasional barks).

We absolutely loved this hotel. It’s located on a lane off the Main Street almost opposite the ferry port. It’s a bit of steep climb up the lane but it’s so worth it! It’s very quiet, quaint and authentically Italian. We felt like we were staying in a really well appointed family home. The attention to detail is really unusual. Lovely bed linens, pretty blinds, beautiful lampshades. The family that own this place really do care about the impression. The staff are lovely. We were able to leave our luggage after check out. A train timetable was printed for us and a fabulous trip to Verenna recommended. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty and the entire place was spotlessly clean. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Beautiful hotel located in the city center and with a lovely garden.
I also like the decoration and the bedding with some patterns (unlike all white in commercial chains). It reminds me my bedroom.

We loved staying here while in Bellagio. The staff was great, the rooms were cozy, and the location was perfect. Definitely would stay again when we go back.

The hotel is located right in the centre of town which was wonderful for restaurants, shops and of course, the lake views. The welcome we had was very friendly and staff were extremely helpful, both for local restaurant recommendations and help with transport. Nothing was too much of a problem for them. Our room was beautifully clean.

Family owned hotel with charming personal and a friendly dog. The hotel is located in a side street with a small backyard, where also breakfast is served. One doesn’t hear the surrounding noise, great for sleeping. I suffer from back issues and this bed was heaven. It’s easy to get to coming with the boat and a good base to explore the town.
Breakfast in the morning has eggs, bacon, pancake, gluten free options, bread and some hams and cheese as well as cereal and Joghurt.
Sounds are easily heard within the hotel, like showers or Hoover, no noise from outside though.

Nice clean hotel. Great location and great service. Made for a perfect stay in Bellagio. Loved my little balcony. Ac worked excellently, breakfast was nice. Would definitely recommend to friends and am sure I will be back there at some point

Had the most amazing experience.
Stayed at the hotel for three nights, and received warmest hospitality I could ever ask for. The hotel courtyard and balcony were of the most relaxing and beautiful places we visited, the staff were incredibly friendly and considerate, breakfast was delicious, and rooms were comfortable and clean.

The hotel is perfectly located and more important the people are extremely nice and helpful. The rooms are very nice and clean. The breakfast is wonderful. They were very helpful with getting us approved for the ZTL area to upload our luggage. They met us at the top of the hill and helped with our down to the property, very unusual. I would have to give them 6 stars.

The hotel is perfect , the view from the terrace is very nice the staff are friendly, the breakfast is good as well.
I am going there every Sommer for 2 weeks , it’s like my home in Bellagio, the owners are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean ❤

I was at another location on Lake Como and I was very disappointed and I decided to go to Bellagio for a one night stay at Hotel Centrale. It was perfect! If you wish to experience "life in Italy".....this is it! I think I stayed 5 nights. The courtyard, the beautiful rooms and fabulous bathrooms the sincerity of the family who share their home with you is genuine. I also recommend a cooking experience with Chef Luigi Gandola

Really caring family that give wonderful service. Wool blanket added tonight as colder. Very authentic brocade furnishings, Venetian lighting and oil paintings done by the grandmother. Breakfast fantastica.

Nice well maintained hotel with friendly staff. It lies at the centre of Bellagio yet it has a nice little garden which I found a very charming distraction. Romantic place.
