Hotel Suisse

I was a little unsure about going to dinner here because of the negative reviews. We decided to give it a try as we had seen the fettuccine being prepared in the Parmesan cheese wheel when we walked by the night before. We also loved the live music played that night (Sunday).

We were pleased in every way. We had four waiters total: one woman and three men. All were very cordial and professional and we had absolutely no issues with our service. The food — we shared the chicken breast and the fettuccine — was excellent. The fettuccine was perhaps a little cool for me but my girlfriend thought it was perfect. We saw the steam rise as it was dropped into the center of the cheese wheel and it came out very cheesy and we added truffle for 20 euros.

We were prepared for the 5 euro per person based on reviews and since I am used to tipping even when not required in Italy, it was not bothersome to me.

The wine list was extensive and we had a nice Brunello. We also enjoyed the tiramisu. We ended up finishing our wine and - unknowingly - staying 40 minutes past closing to finish our wine. We were never rushed nor were any hints given that it was time for us to leave.

Lastly, one reviewer suggester that perhaps an already eaten portion of pasta was placed back in the wheel after it was sent back for reheating. But I think it was far more likely to have been a new plate of fresh pasta as that would be the easier and most assured way to reheat the pasta.

So we recommend this as an option for anyone looking for an enjoyable meal in Bellagio.

The Ristorante Suisse at the front of the hotel is a wonderful dining experience right in the heart of lakefront old town Bellagio. You can dine on the lower level for more active people watching or we chose the second level rooftop with spectacular sunset views of the lake and mountains. The fun and tasty entree is the fettuccini prepared table side in the big round of cheese. The seafood spaghetti was also delightful with lots of shrimp, mussels and fish. And of course, try the local wine. And for dessert, get the chocolate fondue. Everything we had was delicious with snappy service.

Beautiful experience over looking Lake Como, very busy in high season, but remember you are in Italy. Good things come to those who wait. Best sea food linguini I’ve tasted for a long time. Fabulous!

The location is great, you can sit outside but the inside rooms are great. The bathrooms are just ok, a little tight. I was with a group and he served half of us. He left to serve a different group and then came back after a few minutes. Kinda weird. Highly recommended.

Such a great setting with a nice covered patio on the second floor of hotel Suisse and stunning view of the lake. Elegant and upscale ambience. The food is absolutely amazing, everyone in our group was very impressed with their fine cuisine and attentive service.

Food was good. I wanted to try the lasagna but it was sold out for the day. The restaurant is worth trying.

Excellent restaurant, staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was a 10/10. I'd also like to point out how elegant our waitress handled other rude customers, BE NICE ON VACATION EVERYBODY!

We had a beautiful meal here. The portion of veal ravioli is very small for the price, however it was absolutely delicious. The tiramisu and lemon tart were also both incredible. More than anything, the wine we were recommended was one of the best wines we've ever had and the young gentleman who looked after us made our night. He was incredibly friendly, kind, funny and could not do more to help us. It was a very pricey meal for what we ate, but the location, wine and service was second to none.

Like many older hotels there is no elevators, do you have to drag your bags up several flights of stairs, which no staff to assist.

I had the most fantastic and tastiest food of my whole life here with the most stunning view. I got the fettuccine in the cheese wheel and it was just die to for. I’ve been to over 14 countries and this experience was just amazing.

We didn't have any food or stay here we simply had drinks. However the people working there made us feel extremely welcome, we had a nice chat with them and they were kind enough to put the World Cup final on the TV for us. Very nice bar in a lovely location.

Dinner was just wonderful and the service was spectacular. And the view was icing on the cake

We took a day trip to Lake Como on the train from Milan and, having spent an hour or two in Varenna, hopped on the ferry to Bellagio.
It was about 13:30 by the time we arrived and having checked out all the restaurants along the waterfront we settled on Suisse as it had a really stylish feel to it.
Although it was busy, they were able to seat the two of us almost immediately in a lovely sunny spot on the terrace. The wine list was epic running to many pages with bottles priced from 30 to many hundreds of Euros. Certainly something for every taste and budget! Our 40 Euro bottle of Merlot was very good indeed.
Suisse is in a busy spot and the waiting staff are certainly on the go all the time. Contrary to some of the other reviews here, we found them attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely top notch and we loved every minute of our long lazy lunch there. We will definitely return!

My husband and I dined at many establishments during our week in Bellagio. The Hotel Suisse gave us two of the best dining experiences of our stay. People leave reviews talking about long wait times for food, staff being rushed etc… it is what you make of it. Our meals were fantastic both upstairs for dinner and downstairs for lunch and we met some fantastic people there. The owner made a point to acknowledge us both visits and the staff was friendly and attentive. I will always be willing to wait a bit for a great meal as opposed to getting quick service and a sup-par meal. When you read reviews, take them for what they are worth. Some people just don’t understand the service industry and will never be happy, They also don’t see the value in a quality meal. On our next trip to lake Como, we will definitely visit again.

Aweseome restaurant with breathtaking view on the lake, various menu , delicious food & friendly welcoming staff

We came here for lunch on a sunny day, sat facing the lake on corner table on the first floor.

Being vegetarians, we had less options to choose from. We had a spaghetti garlic oil pasta and cheese fondue pasta, loved both of it. The presentation was great and the dishes were some of the best.

The lavender crem brûlée was perfect ending to the lunch.

It’s on a bit pricey end, but worth a treat for the food and the view.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in Italy! The food was amazing and the service was even better. The staff was extremely attentive and professional. They were extremely knowledgeable and there before we even needed them. We got a bottle of wine and never even had to pour our own glass because they were so attentive. Can’t recommend this place enough!
