b&b Il Marchese del grillo

One of our favorite stops this trip. We travel to Italy each year to explore different areas. We absolutely loved this b&b, I only wished we stayed for more than 2 nights.

Marta is an amazing hostess with far better English than my Italian. She was so accommodating, kind, and helpful. We sadly had an early train to catch and wanted to make arrangements for a taxi, which she kindly did for us as well as provided an early breakfast (before normal hours) still offering everything to us. Breakfast included bakery items, fresh fruit and yogurt, made to order eggs and coffee / cappuccino, etc. All very well done. Couldn't have asked for more.

The check-in went very well. The room was amazing. It is very clean and very fresh (no damp old building smell). Nice hot shower. I will stay here again and I can't wait. Highly recommend!

this was the most amazing b&b we’ve ever stayed in! Marta was incredibly kind and the property was beautiful!! The whole entryway is stone with gorgeous plants. And the room could not have been more clean - the cleanest room we’ve stayed in during our long trip. We loved the breakfast (the most amazing coffee) and the recommendations for the beautiful city of Sulmona. We will be back!

We got to our room, and it was fun that the owner of the place, Marta, received us. The room is clean and tidy and the breakfast is particularly indulgent: fruit, yogurt and muesli, any egg and bread you like. A lovely place with a balcony for an amazing sunset.

Yes, it was incredibly beautiful! Marta was a wonderful host. The room was amazing, comfortable , super clean and tastefully decorated. She speaks English perfectly and will help you with all your questions. If you’re in this area of Italy, don’t overlook this great B and B.

Sulmona is a lovely town with a lively passeggiata. Il Marchese is conveniently located within the city walls and makes it easy to access shopping for confetti, having a caffe at one of the oldest espresso bars in the region, and enjoying aperitivi! Marta sets out a wonderful breakfast, don't miss the torta con uva marmalata!

I can't Express how wonderful our stay with Marta was. She was a wonderful host and her property has to be one of the most beautiful in all of Italy.
The rooftop breakfast was always a wonderful way to start the day. She even scrambled eggs to meet our western pallets.
Many of the baked goods as well as the breads and cheeses were baked in her own kitchen and I have to say she is talented. Much of the other food comes from some of the local bakeries and it is all amazing!
within walking distance in nearly any direction in solona you will find amazing food, typical to the region of Abruzzo. Marta and her staff do not speak much English, as most people in the region. Google translate goes a long way here!
I seriously cannot recommend this B&B enough. A truly magical experience.

This B&B is trully amazing, the room beautufuly decorated, we enjoyed an evening's wine on our little balcony. The hospitality was perfect, Marta was welcoming and pasionate about sulmona. Nancy presented us with a superb rooftop breakfast.. all 10 out of 10.

Beautiful B&B in Sulmona. The owner is a lovely woman that bent over backwards to give us the best experience in her city of Sulmona. Highly, highly, recommend staying there when visiting Sulmona.

If we could have given 10 stars, we would have! Marta and her team treated us like family, always making sure we had what we wanted for a comfortable stay and ensured we were happy. Marta is by far an exceptional host. She personalizes each guest's experience. Even with COVID measures in place (which made us feel very safe), she still provided top service and care. Her breakfast on the terrace was delicious - homemade pastries, fresh fruit from their gardens - delicious - and what a view of the Majella mountains and the Gran Sasso. This is our 2nd time back and it will definitely be our "go to" B&B when we are in Sulmona. Grazie, Marta, per tutto! Ci vediamo l'anno prossimo si Dio vuole!

Nice room, roof terrace with views over the town and surrounding mountains. A very friendly host who can guide you to find the best places in the surrounding area!

Wir sind sehr freundlich aufgenommen worden, unser Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Das Zimmer geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück wunderbar! Nicht für gehbehinderte oder stark übergewichtige Menschen geeignet, da zum Teil schmale und steile Stiegen ohne Aufzug vorhanden sind.

Un gioiellino! La proprietaria è disponilissima e cortese. Non ci sono molte camere, quindi c' è una cura e attenzione maggiore verso il cliente. Da quando si prenota a quando si torna a casa propria, Marta, è disponibilissima.
Si tratta di una costruzione antica in cui sono stati uniti varie case costruite secoli fa. La proprietaria ha ristrutturato in maniera originale cercando di mantenere i muri e i dettagli originali. A me è piaciuto tutto, dell'atrio natalizio con un bellissimo albero di natale e un salottino con pianoforte. Una cucina ricavata su un mezzo piano e una camera bellissima. La sala della colazione è piccola ma Marta è presente e ti coinvolge in maniera naturale a condividere con altri ospiti le esperienze fatte sul posto. Musica jazz di sottofondo, camino, arredamento in legno e pezzi originali. Incantevole.

Per il ponte della befana abbiamo scelto di visitare l’Abruzzo regione in cui non ci siamo mai stati. Scegliamo il B&b Il marchese del grillo situato nel cuore di Sulmona,curato nei minimi particolari e se vi dico minimi particolari sto parlando a 360 gradi. Marta (la proprietaria) ci ha accolto come si fa con i vecchi amici, ci ha consigliato dove poter mangiare, cosa visitare e come muoverci in città. La stanza al pian terreno e di una bellezza assoluta ma la chicca assoluta è la terrazza situata all’ultimo piano del palazzo dove si può osservare un panorama mozzafiato.. se cercate un posto tranquillo ed un’amica che prepara un plum-cake al cioccolato da urlo allora soggiornate al Marchese del grillo!! Ciao Marta sei fantastica!!
