A Truly Exceptional Stay – Highly Recommended!

My stay at this hotel was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the remarkable hospitality of the owners. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and made to feel like a valued guest. The owners went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect, always ready to assist with a genuine smile.

The room I stayed in was both elegant and spacious, providing a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere. The attention to detail in the room's design was evident, and it was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The decor exuded sophistication, making it a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring.

One of the highlights of my stay was the private terrace. It was an absolute delight to have such a cozy and comfortable outdoor space. I spent several peaceful mornings and evenings there, enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful surroundings.

The breakfast served at the hotel was excellent. There was a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to choose from, and everything was beautifully presented. It was clear that great care was taken in preparing each dish, making breakfast a delightful start to the day.

Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The combination of outstanding hospitality, elegant accommodations, and excellent amenities made for an unforgettable stay. I will definitely be returning!

One of the best hotels we have stayed at in Italy. This family run hotel takes special care of the guests. In particular, Roberto and Giuseppe are awesome. Our very comfortable room on the second floor was spacious with bedroom, sitting area, small kitchen space and very nice terrace. The bathroom is much larger than usual and the shower with plentiful hot water is great. Fast internet was also appreciated.

They serve an excellent breakfast which really sets you up for the day. The hotel location is right in the old town center, close to Piazza Garibaldi. It was ideal for nice walks around town.

We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room was clean, well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Very new and updated. And the breakfast they offer is fantastic!
Helpful staff also.
We hope to visit and stay again!

My three night stay at Stella Casa Bono was superb. The room was spacious, clean, tastefully renovated, with excellent facilities. It exceeded the expectations I had. Roberto and Guiseppe could not have been more helpful and friendly. If I were to visit Sulmona again I wouldn’t hesitate to stay with them. Thanks so much!

It deserves more than three stars. It is in a very nice place, the room is large, the breakfast is very good but there is nothing better than the kindness of the owners. One of them gave me many tips that help my travel.

My husband and I stayed at Stella CasaBono for 2 nights in June 2024. I don’t think we’ve ever been looked after so much anywhere else. The room was excellent - quiet, spacious, with a roomy en-suite that felt nicely separate from the bedroom area. Lovely shower! The bedroom had a fridge, with cold bottles of water on offer. The air conditioning worked well and was easy to control. And nothing was too much trouble for Roberto and Giuseppe. Including arranging a visit to an artisanal cheese maker (Alla Casa Vecchia) in the nearby village of Pacentro - well worth doing! I whole-heartedly recommend this super friendly and comfortable albergo. And the location is brilliant - in the heart of the historic centre. But do bear in mind that - like most historic buildings in Italy - there’s no lift and our room was on the second floor.

Great ..Great Location for anything in the Sulmona Historical district. You are a block from Gelatto, Confetti and the main Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi. The owners (Brothers) are on site working every day. If you are into Wine, one of them is a Sommelier and they have an impressive wall of wine. The Room we had was clean and large. Right across from a Large Church and the local Police (so it's got to be safe ..right?).

A very pleasant stay in this family-run hotel in the centre of Sulmona. The brothers Roberto and Giuseppe were incredibly welcoming and helpful with lots of suggestions of where to visit and where to eat. Our room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, croissants, pastries and an option to have eggs, cheese and ham.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to explore this charming town and the quaint villages and the Abruzzo mountains and forests nearby.

This hotel is in the perfect location in the old city to explore. Roberto and his brother were beyond the best hosts for our stay. When we arrived he carried our luggage to our room, then got in our car to show us first hand where to park. Always offering us something to drink, informative and always smiling. Our room was big, great bed and quiet when the windows were closed. Breakfast is top notch. I would totally recommend when staying in Sulmona.

Amazing experience here. Roberto and his brother were exceptionally welcoming and informative. They were always available to help or answer any questions.

Hotel is located right in the center of Sulmona — a truly amazing location. Hotel itself is very clean, cozy, and comfortable. I recommend for both solo travelers or even families. Amazing stay.

When I come back, I’ll surely stay here!

Thank you!

Cozy family owned hotel located in the city center, the owner is very friendly and gave us tips on the best local restaurants.

Our room was spacious and clean, breakfast was included in the price with great service and food.

We booked on very short notice but the owner was super helpful and accommodating, a great experience overall!

Roberto and Giuseppe are amazing. They looked after all my needs and provided me with everything I could ask for. They went out of their way to make sure I had all the resources needed for an amazing time while in Sulmona.
They took care of E-Bike rental and made sure I knew how to get where I was going. Suggested great restaurants, sights, and even invited me to a social gathering one evening where I met some wonderful people. I can’t wait to return some day with my family.

Stella Casabono has been a family business since 1965. It’s is in a perfect location, great breakfast, clean, quiet and most of all, Roberto and Giuseppe took great care to make sure everything went well for our time there. Giuseppe gave us a list of restaurants with short reviews of each. Roberto gladly assisted us with our parking and was always available for assistance. They both put their hearts into their business. We will return again. Ciao for now!

I stayed at Stella CasaBono for four nights in June and July 2023. I highly recommend this boutique, family-owned and family-run hotel. The bed and shower were the most comfortable I used during my three weeks traveling in Europe. The furnishings, decor, and fixtures blend the historic and modern in a tasteful way that maximizes both authenticity and comfort.
The service is hospitable, helpful, and supportive. Brothers Guiseppe and Roberto took care of logistics (pick-up at bus station, drop-off at train station), made demur and spot-on recommendations for restaurants and hikes, and served a delicious included breakfast each morning featuring a luscious fruit salad (with cherries, melons, and stone fruit), eggs, toast, prosciutto (they were understanding when I told them I’m a vegetarian, too), juice, and espresso coffee drinks in their in-house stylish wine bar/caffe.
The location is across the street from a beautiful church, around the corner the main plazas, and near the tourist center, larger museum, and excellent restaurants, bars, caffès, and shops.
A touching moment that exemplifies what Stella CasaBono is all about happened when I came back from the archeological museum near the Ovid statue one afternoon and the whole family, including nonna and bambino, were having lunch. They taught the baby how to say my name, which made me feel like part of the family. And with the utmost professionalism, that’s how the Bono family treated me during my stay with them in beautiful Sulmona.

I wrote a 5 star review for this family run hotel, Stella CasaBono, Sulmona this morning. Somehow it got sent to Croatian or Slovenian Google, the last countries I visited, but my comments remained in English. So I am writing a second review as I very much appreciated the personal care given to me by the Hotelier brothers, Roberto and Leonardo. Worst was it came up with a 1 star before my iPad crashed and that is totally incorrect.

Modern, clean and comfortable rooms (at a very reasonable price that also included a great buffet breakfast) in a location that is fairly quiet while being pretty much as central as possible.

The owners are wonderfully friendly and thecservice is five star. Sulmona is well worth a visit and the hotel is highly recommended for a few days stay.

We arrived at the Casa Bono hotel by chance. It was at the beginning of May 2023. We were a family of 3 who went for a trip in the Sulomona area. We just arrived from Israel and needed one night to get organized. We entered Casa Bono, a small family-owned hotel, saw and fell under the spell of the place and Giuseppe the owner. 1 night turned to be 3 nights. The location is excellent, in the old city-center of Sulmona, the rooms are very good, very clean, pleasant and luxurious and the owners, Giuseppe and Roberto Bono, 2 brothers who run the hotel, are charming, fulfilled our wishes and they are always willing and happy to help, and all of this for a fair price. Highly recommended.
