Un Posto al Sole

My sister and I traveled to Volterra for our vacation, and we decided to try this restaurant. We were met with friendly faces and the service was impeccable. We highly recommend this restaurant! The food was amazing and the pasta was FRESH! Not as expensive as some of the other restaurants in Volterra. Some of the BEST bruschetta we have ever had! The chef was SO sweet.

The restaurant is right opposite the archaeological museum (Museo Etrusco Guarnacci), and on this rainy spring season, the name gave us some hope.
The recommendation of the day was spaghetti alla vongole. So we both decided to have one each, plus house wine and water.
Although it's a mount city, the spaghetti with clams tasted very good. My husband said it's the best spaghetti alla vongole on this Toscany trip (4 restaurants tried).
The tiramisu was also good.
We spotted our neighbour table that they ordered a salami ham cheese platter, and it looked good indeed... but as vongole fans, we made the right choice. ;-)
The service staff were very friendly, and we noticed that they tried to give explanations to the American guests.

Located in the centre of Volterra on a quiet street good for us with doggies under the table. A very good plate of freshly made seafood pasta it was delicious. €28 for 2 meals + €9 for 2 beers + tax and service charge total was €43 I guess it was worth it in a beautiful location.

We were in Volterra last week and tried Un Posto al Sole for dinner. Our group of 4 had one of the best meals that we had in Italy. The pasta was fresh, homemade, and cooked perfectly. I ate a steak cooked on a wood fire and served with a tomato and arugula salad on top which was drizzled in olive oil. It was an absolutely delicious steak and cooked rare. The wood they used gave it a slight smoky and salty taste that was unbelievable. Service was great and the prices were average for the region and more than fair when you consider how good the food was. We almost didn't stop there because there were no other diners. The staff told us that it was because of the severe thunder storm that went through there before we arrived so some people stayed away. Please note that they have a "tourist menu" with pictures of the food and a very low price. I would call that menu "entry level" and designed to pull in people on a budget so lower your expectations for those items. We stayed away from that menu and asked the staff what they would eat and we were rewarded with amazing food. If you find yourself in Volterra give them a try.

I've had steaks all over the world, my best steak was an Argentinian steak house in Germany, this has now been replaced by Un Posto Al Sole !! The best fillet steak with truffle sauce I've ever put in my mouth. Great staff, good food for kids and very polite. I would have loved to spend an evening here but we were just passing through.

Arrived in Volterra after early morning flight and a drive . Tired and hungry we had a delicious bowl of pasta . Helpful friendly staff catered for my dairy intolerance without quibble . We will call in again this week I’m sure

Si vous cherchez des plats typiquement Toscane, je vous conseille vivement de venir ici !! Les plats sont super bon et généreux. De plus la terrasse permet un petit air frais ce qui est très appréciable en été.
Le personnel est vraiment très gentil et à l'écoute.
Je vous le recommande fortement !

Beginnen wir beim Essen. Für die Trüffel-Carbonara würde ich jederzeit wiederkommen. Dies war doch wirklich ein Gaumenschmaus. Der Salat war gut. Auf Nachfrage wurde an unserem Tisch auch ein Suplement gegeben. Der Service braucht seine Zeit, es kommt jedoch alles wie bestellt und die Pausen zwischen den Speisen empfand ich als genau richtig. In Volterra hat wohl jedes Restaurant ein schönes Ambiente. Wenn einem einige wenige vorbeifahrende Autos nichts ausmachen, ist der Ort Perfekt. Vom durchgehenden Touristenstrom neben den Tische war ich in diesem Lokal befreit, da es etwas dezentral liegt. Meine Empfehlung steht.

Simplemente delicioso, no puedes irte de Volterra sin tener esta experiencia de platillos típicos de la región. Annalissa y Lucia son un amor te hacen sentir en casa con su calidez, buen humor y magnífico servicio. El mejor recuerdo de Italia.

Personale molto cordiale e specialmente simpatico, carne e primi veramente buoni, come anche il resto. Location molto tranquilla e si stava veramente bene. Un grazie particolare a Lucia, assolutamente da tornare

Titolari molto simpatici, ottimo pranzo, abbiamo mangiato un menú di pesce freschissimo, una lasagne fatta in casa, arancini e mozzarella in carozza, e "la bomba finale" il migliore tiramisú che abbiamo mai mangiato e altre specialitá da assaggiare🤤 Prezzi convenienti. Torneremo di sicuro.

Sind zufällig an dem kleinen Lokal vorbeigelaufen uns sahen uns die Menükarte an, ein paar Meter weiter sahen wir in der auslage unser späteres Delikt 😆. Wurden wir von der Bedienung sehr freundlich begrüßt und perfekt bedient! Das Essen war einfach göttlich, beide Bedienungen waren sehr sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Man kann es nur empfehlen 🥰

Ein sehr leckeres Essen und ein freundliches Personal. Die Menüs sind perfekt zusammen gestellt. Da wird jeder satt und Glücklich. Die Sanitäranlagen sind verbesserungswürdig.
