Pineta di Grotta Grattara

A quiet, scenic, varied and wonderful walk to the most special and photogenic place in the Sicilian mountains. Free parking at the bottom of the trail (look for the wooden huts) then it was very easy to follow the well kept winding trail, never too steep, well shaded by the lofty forest.

The wildlife was abundant: lizards scatter across the stones, butterflies flutter on every bush, and the hum of cicadas throngs the air. The smell of pine, warm stones and fresh mountain air fills your head as you climb. Our family easily managed the gentle ascent, even in the heat of summer. It took around 30 minutes.

When you reach the caves, the views are spectacular. The variation in the rock arches (there are two of them!) is magnificent, and perfectly frames the other mountains across the valley. You can see over the woodland to the village where the walk began, and upwards to the higher mountains. There is also a small dark cave you can climb into, crawling with wild funnel spiders and containing the largest stalagmite I've ever seen.

On the walk back, look to the left for a concrete structure which affords you views West towards Palermo. A truly stunning walk.

Great walk to the caves. Don't forget the other side of the mountain. Spectacular view.

Nice easy hike, worth it. Great View across North of Sicily.

possibilité de continuer la randonnées en suivant la crêts avant d'arriver à la grotte pour se retrouver dans un magnifique cirque

Un posto veramente bello e suggestivo,c'è un po' stradina da fare per arrivare in cima alle grotte però ne vale la pena panorama bello,la consiglio

Superbe promenade. On monte sur le flanc d'une petite montagne, à l'ombre des pins, des papillons qui virevoltent autour de nous et on voit les lézards qui décampent devant nous, jusqu'à apercevoir ces superbes arches.
C'est grandiose et on a un panorama sur la mer à couper le souffle. La grotte est plutôt petite, mais sympa, avec une petite source qui forme une flaque en haut du roc.
Cette promenade est vraiment à faire, surtout que nous étions seuls en haut et qu'on n'avait croisé personne, aux alentours de midi. On a pas eu chaud grace aux arbres.

Un viaggio nella natura 🌳🌲 armatevi di tanta pazienza e determinazione. Se avete uno spirito curioso e portato all'esplorazione dovete assolutamente visitarlo. Il panorama vi lascerà sicuramente senza parole!

Ein schöner kleiner Ausflug zu einer Grotte mit schönen Felsen, mit Loch drin :) man läuft ca. Ein Einhalt Stunden hoch und wieder zurück- wobei es die ganze Zeit ziemlich hoch geht ... wir hatten zwei babys dabei- sogar mit Kinderwagen und trage, klar bis zur Grotte und dann war Schluss, aber das hat trotzdem ganz gut geklappt. Sehr empfehlenswert!! Tipp: wenn man ein Stück die strasse an der Stadt entlang weiter fährt hat man einen wunderschönen Blick übers Tal.
Weiterer Tipp: nicht durch die Stadt fahren da die Gassen sehr eng sind, daher lieber vorher links die Umgehung fahren und man kommt genauso gut hin.

Luogo immerso nella natura, panorama suggestivo. Percorso molto ben delineato, non troppo lungo ma con pendenza significativa.

Op dit punt kun je parkeren en start het pad naar de grot.
Leuk en gemakkelijk pad met veel bloemen. Je bent binnen 30 minuten boven.
Echt de moeite waard!

Randonnée sympathique et facile avec de belles vues près des grottes.

Sehenswert und gut erreichbar, ca. 800 m gut gepflegter Wanderweg, sogar Kinderwagen tauglich, wer gerne nach aufwärts schiebt. Grotte auch mit MTB erreichbar!

Mooie locatie, via een makkelijk, grotendeels geplaveid pad vanaf Grattara. Let op: het pad eindigt bij de grot en de gaten in de rots; om een rondwandeling te maken moet je terug tot bij de wegwijzer naar de grot, en daar eerst iets hoger naar een uitzichtspunt op een betonnen plateau, en dan links via een smal maar goed pad boven de rotsen, tot bij een landweg. Daar rechtsaf naar beneden, en bij een volgende afslag terug rechts (met zicht op St Georgio) kom je terug in Grattara.
