This place is incredibly popular, and based to the other reviews especially on weekends. Despite the crowd, we got our ticket and stood in line—it took us less than an hour, which was impressive given how busy it was. Once you place your order, it’s ready almost immediately. Everything was fresh, and the flavors were excellent. The prices are very reasonable, and both the quantity and quality of the food are outstanding. The location offers a beautiful view, both during the day and at night, which makes the experience even more special. As tourists, we thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Only stopped here for a bite to eat. Although you may feel this is like a nice cafe/services area when you arrive, the location, food and service was exceptional. Staff were brilliant. They make their own dough on the premises.

Fantastic food, busy place and you must GET A TICKET on entry to the restaurant if you want to order quickly. I wasn't aware of this and stood around for a while unsure what to do but thankfully a friendly staff member helped me to place an order as I ordered a coffee and she took my food order also but the line had gotten smaller at that point.

Good food, large portions! Go early or late to avoid the crowds!

For a small price You eat a lot, and i mean A LOT. I had the lasagna and their lake fish and had a taste of their mixed fish grill. Everything was good and the place was full but we found a table very fast.

Had a very tasty bistecca from the wood grill firing in the background, and wonderfully tender turkey. Huge choice of cooked and marinated sides like vegetables and potatoes. Lots of other options too, such as lasagnas, fried stuff, and of course the torta del testa. Incredibly cheap (embarrasssing almost) - full meal for two for 30 euros. Wonderful views of the lake, and clearly the place for locals - always a good sign.

We have eaten here today. They have nice variability of food, which in part is already made and visibile inside the daily counter. The portions are really abundant. The only minus is that during peak hours the ordering and paying is a little bit chaotic because of the multitude of people.

The process of ordering food may appear a little chaotic for tourist. But it's so totally worth it. The food here is excellent. On a typical day there are long haul trucks and Maseratis on the parking lot, and everything in between. Simply because everybody loves the food here!

It can be slightly bewildering as a foreign tourist visitor, but please persist. The food is excellent, and amazing value on account of the quality and portion sizes. Lots of locals here too, always a good sign.

An absolute must if visiting the lake Trasimeno area. A roadside self-service restaurant with top quality Torta al Testo and a wide range of classic local dishes. The outdoor seating area has a wonderful view of the lake. Prices are very reasonable and portions very abundant. Other specialities are the mixed fried seafood and mixed pork platter (arrosto misto). Be careful when you go as it's very crowded at lunchtime. Best to go early or after peak lunch hours. Recommended for the experience as much as the food!

Typical Umbrian food which you eat together with the locals. It's cheap and tasty, but you have to get through the quite chaotic process of ordering first. Outside there is a beautiful view but be aware of the wasps.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. All the food is great but our favorites are the fried lake perch, the roasted potatoes and the vegetables, not to mention the famous torta al testo. It's one of the few places with continuous hours and it's a good idea to get there a little early to avoid the crowd. The atmosphere is very casual and there is abundant outdoor seating overlooking the lake. A warning, though: there is very limited English spoken by the staff.
UPDATE: Now there are at least a few of the staff who speak English, at least enough to help with ordering.

Great selection for a quick bite. You must try the "Torta": choose your own filling among cold cuts, vegetables, cheeses... and enjoy it

The best place to eat the torta al testo and good and genuine local food. It can be very long to get to your turn, but every second is worth your waiting. Menu is complete and suitable for almost every taste. Don't miss it, it's more than recommended.

Nice restaurant with plenty of outdoor sitting with a view on a lake. Lots of food options for all kinds of diets. Friendly staff.

The only sad thing of this place is its always overflowing with people and with good reason too. Almost everything they make is top of the line in taste, quality and price. I've been here many times and keep coming back for more. The view sitting under the pines in the outside area is pure bliss.

excellent quality/price ratio. the fact that is a regular destination for locals should say it all. simple, no table service but good food in a quite place.

No trip to Perugia and Lago di Trasimeno is complete without a dinner or lunch at Faliero, better known as Maria's. This is the real deal when it comes to authentic umbrian food. Best known for inventing the Torta'l Testo, Faliero should be on any travellers itinerary coming to this exceptional part of the world.
