Ristorante Bistrot Lo Zero

Found this diamond of a food experience on a rainy Thursday night. Just Sweetie (the wife), me and another couple at a different. Chef Marcella personally presented her creations and it was an culinary adventure. A multitasker of seafood (tuna arancini, salmon sushi deep fried, snapper) followed by main courses of seared tuna and bronzino. Prefectly paired wines.

Finally, desserts of an imaginative and inspired style and flavor. A reimagined tiramisu, sensuous and elegant, and an orange semifreddo to make you fall back in love with its’ existence.

I wax poetic and purple because this meal earned it.

We had an absolutely magical night at Bistro Lo Zero. It’s apparent that the service is excellent for all customers, but because I happened to mention that we’d love a great table because we’re on our honeymoon, they went above and beyond to make it special for us. If you’re staying anywhere near Montespertoli, you won’t regret making a special pilgrimage to this gourmet restaurant with a family restaurant level of personal service. The food is spectacular. The best we’ve had in Italy. The evening started with them showing us to a wonderful table and treating us to some sparkling wine and several amuse boucbe that were out of this world. We had an incredible pasta course followed by stunning second courses of tuna steak done to perfection for me and beef cheek for my husband who said it was one of the best beef dishes he has had in his life. With our dessert course they brought out a sparkling candle on a plate with a greeting for our wedding written in caramel sauce. We hope we get to go back someday!

The food is incredible and the service even more so. The dishes were fresh and creative without trying to hard. The menu offers enough choices without being overwhelming.

The chef delighted us with some extras like some Prosecco at the start and a pea soup with local olive oil and seeds followed by a freshly breaker multi grain roll.

We chose the egg, the cuttlefish pasta and the amberjack fish dish to share and were surprised by how wonderful each dish was.

We finished with the ossobucco cheesecake and the tiramisu and they too were wonderful.

This is a lovely lovely place and a total hidden gem. Don’t miss it.

Plus the chef is a woman!

Delicious food! The chef came out to greet us and then also said good bye and thanked us for stopping by. Everything was delicious and the staff was wonderful!

Amazing. We wandered in as it was the only restaurant open and has no idea how lucky we are. Best was the pasta with truffles and shrimp, worst … was nothing. Everything was delicious. Wait staff very helpful and welcoming and warm. Five stars! Can’t recommend high enough.

We dined as a family of 6 with 4 young kids. Service was absolutely top - the servers anticipated our needs and brought everything we required and more - bread, small spoons, forks, water, ice with a smile. There was no kids menu but they immediately suggested home made pasta with burro which was a hit. Food was incredible, fresh and super delicious.

This is not traditional but interesting restaurant. I think, soon will have first Michelin star.

The best restaurant we ate at in two weeks in Italy, Chef Marcella and the entire team are incredible. Legitimately they deserve a Michelin star for the flavor and creativity on every single dish. The chefs apps were not to be missed and the truffle fondue was incredible. The homemade focaccia! Amazing. Hands down best dish was the ricotta and raspberry tortelloni - so special. The eggplant parm was classic and perfect. The sea bass so good. Everything ordered was amazing and the service was perfect. You must go and order every. single. thing. You will not regret!

We had an amazing dinner last night. The three of us each had a different pasta prima course that was fantastic. Then shared the steak “Marcella Way” with sides. Simply cooked to perfection. We are still talking about it today! Marcella (chef/owner) and her staff opened their hearts and soul to us making the service truly special

We are travelling for 3 weeks and this is the best restaurant we ate at. The food was amazing. The pistachio pasta with shrimp, the tomato pasta. The grilled se food and the special deserts.

Worth a detour! Cuisine with touches from other parts of the Italy, all dishes were exceptional. Try the pistachio shrimp pasta or the arranciatta parfait!

Lovely experience - had vegetarian pasta, eggplant parmigiana, branzino and dessert - all were delicious. Excellent service. Would highly recommend.

Unfortunately we only discovered this restaurant on our last night otherwise we would have been here every night.
The sheep's cheese fondue was unbelievable and my grandfather was part of a special group in Switzerland that created Swiss cheese in the late 1800's.
The Sangiovese house wine was so smooth it has changed my preferred wine.
If you are in the area and don't stop in, it's your loss.

Best restaurant in Tuscany by far. The food is to die for, the service is impeccable, especially try truffle fondue!
