Quiet place where you can spot flamingos 🦩 in the pond behind the beach. The water was shallow for about 100m, crystal and clear. Everything is cleaned. You pay €2,50 to access any beach at the Vendicari Reserve for the entire day. Parking is €5 but the guy didn’t let us pay but we arrived at 5 pm.

It was a highlight in my trip to Sicily. The way the sea, nature and architecture meets in this most peaceful reserve spoke to all my senses. Definitely worth visiting more than once. Make sure to stay there for a couple of hours.

Beautiful beach and scenery.
Need to take water and food with you since there are no shops available in the area.
The area is accessible for pushchairs

Flamingos everywhere! The tonnara is well worth a visit to understand how well organised and large scale the fishing was.

If there's one place in Sicily that gets the maintenance and attention it deserves, it's Vendicari. The paths and stone structures are in their best condition, and there's no trash on the ground, allowing lots of wildlife around.
