This ski resort has slopes that are excellent for beginners. We visited in early March, and even though there were many other visitors, the slopes were vast and wide, so it didn't feel crowded. It's perfect for beginners to practice. Additionally, they have a course through the forest, which in my opinion is really fun. During our visit, there happened to be some attractions, including fireworks and drum shows.

This is the Tsugaike Mountain Resort. Visited on the end of Jan 2024 for skiing. Unfortunately, there is no fresh powder snow as it hasn't snowed in the last several days, however the slopes are perfectly groomed and compressed. Flat, wide and long, the pistes for expert are excellent as well as for behinners.

There are 4 car parking lots around the resort. Recommended the Champion Car Parking Lot where you can park for free on weekdays and weekends from 6:00 to 18:00. It takes about a minute to walk to the nearest slope. Ski straight down the slope in a couple of minutes, you will reach the ticket office then. No deposit is required for a lift ticket, so you can go straight back to this parking lot.

This is a great place for beginners. There are lots of choices. They even have a beginner run that starts up at the top of the gondola and weaves its way down through the forest. It was lots of fun.
We were there late in the season but there was still enough snow to have a good time.

This is my favorite resort in Hakuba Valley. Parking is tight with very few spaces, but the mountain is nice and sits higher than most others, so snow keeps better. And it is big enough to have good runs for the whole family. Quite a few restaurants scattered throughout the resort are mostly ok but none are great. Really great find that anyone skiing Hakuba Valley should check out.

The resort opens until the last day of golden week. We went there for 4 days when it wasn’t crowded anymore. The view was great with decent quality of snow. It should have been must better if we visited during winter. Will surely come back !

Amazing place to ski/snowboard, beautiful views and great people all around. Would highly recommend staying at @Tsugaike it's no more than 10-15 feet away from the slopes and the owners are amazing and treat you like family.

i love here so much. good for beginner. wide and long trails. nice snow powder. the widest trail is 1.2 km. there're are many challenge trails. Gondola takes you 20 minutes to the top of the mountain. In the map, Tsugaike looks small but for intermediate snowboarder like me, i think this is a decent place. Hannoki slope is very long trail and not too hard for beginners

Nice ski and snowboard area for beginners and intermediate riders with a good selection of forest and deep powder snow areas for the pros. Always nice to come here.

Get to Jackie's and get your wristband on a non-powder day to save time for the day you care about.

Great side county access and tree runs.

The bottom is a huge beginner area and I think most of the writeups on the internet are about that space. You can do laps on the top half of the mountain in good terrain.

It's a resort for two distinctly different demographics both served well. If you are advanced skiier/rider don't miss.

We totally love this place. It has slopes for everyone, from beginners to intermediate +. The hotels/hostels are dated, but we like Sunshine lodge because it's western style and right by the slopes.

Easily the best Ski Resort in Hakuba. Diverse runs; the altitude means there is almost always fresh snow at the peak area. Gondolas and highspeed chairs.

Nice wide runs means you don’t get stuck behind people. Honestly you won’t get bored here.

Oh and crepes; like the best crepes ever down the bottom near the centre gondola 🚠.

The only down side is the organisation and scheduling of the shuttles. But that’s not the mountain’s fault!

Lots to do at this one, a lot of variety and some pretty long runs. Lots of lifts if you'd rather repeat one you like. There's also a burger king halfway up!

A fantastic mountain resort with plenty of diversity but still great for families. Accomodation options are close to the snow, and great food options nearby.

Best place for beginners to practice with less crowded and wider slope. They have beginner pass that cheaper than most ski resorts in Hakuba.

Perfect resort for beginners and intermediate skiers/boarders. It also has a very long 4km route if you go all the way to the top.

One downside is that parking is limited so if you come by car, make sure to come early.
