A fun as well as educational experience on the "God of Manga", the museum tells the life story on one of the most defining mangaka in the history of Japan.

The first floor offers the history and acchievements of Tezuka Osamu, and how he has influenced the creation of manga to this day. This floor alone is awe-inspiring enough (and everything is available in English) to be worth the while of any manga-fan.
There is also a video theatre.

The second floor has a rotating exhibition, which at the time I visited was on perhaps Tezuka's most curious and deep work, Hinotori (The Phoenix). Additionally, the shop here offers a fun selection of products inspired by Tezuka's manga, including commemorative coins and a machine to stamp your name and the current date in them (for free).

On the basement floor there are interactive games that are great for kids.

All in all a lovely museum well worth visiting. I will be back.

This was my first time in Osaka and there was no way I was gonna miss this. Osaka Castle? NOPE. Umeda Skytree? NOPE. But a 40th anniversary Macross event at the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum COUNT ME IN. It took about 45 minutes from the Shin Osaka station, and another 15-20 minute walk from Takarazuka station. But this was well worth it. Now I’ll be the first to tell you I didn’t grow up on Osamu Tezuka’s manga’s or anime’s. But I sure as hell know of his importance to the industry. This place is all sorts of awesome, the bottom floor goes through all of his works. I loved the interactive displays that just brought his world to life (all those dials). When I grew up Robotech was one of THE cartoons to watch, as I got older I found out about the 1984 Macross: Do You Remember Love movie. I’ve been an fan ever since, so seeing all of the Macross art work on display was amazing. I had an absolute blast and will hopefully back for the Capcom exhibit later this year.

Super amazing Macross exhibit, I drove down from Yokosuka and it was well worth the trip! Excellent staff and the facilities were immaculate. With the other exhibits I spent about 90 minutes in here total.

My absolute favorite experience in all of Hyogo! I enjoy Astro Boy so much and admire Osamu Tezuka, so it was perfect. I made a little animation, and spent hours just reading about his life. The staff were very friendly. The museum is also in the cutest little town! Definitely worth the trip from Osaka for me, but only because I love the history of Japanese animation. The place is small, but three floors of interesting facts. Took me 3 hours to do, but I read everything.

Worth the train trip from Osaka if you're and Astro Boy fan or just a fan of animation and illustration. Was ¥700 entry fee for adults. The museum was small but packed with lots of things to look at. There is even a small theater that shows animated shorts.

Twenty minutes by train from central Osaka station this cute little museum is a must see for every manga fan.
The main exhibition is bilingual and contains lots of informations, personal items and old drawings. This will definitely bring you joy if you loved any of those cartoons/ mangas as a kid :)

Cool places to have knowledge or story about Osamu Tezuka, master of Anime who inspired many artist.

The building itself quite interesting with artdeco style.
I think there are park that is a part of the museum, but sadly it was closed when i visited.

I suggest to spend more than 45 minutes because there were plenty exhibit and interesting info on Osamu Tezuka and his many works.
There also short movie studio which show regularly.

Overall, nice museum with original merchandise store also. Although rather bit far from station.

if you're going during the corona period, be careful as there are time slots and you can't remain inside after the time is up.
We came later and only had 40+ minutes inside and it wasn't enough to see everything even though some areas were closed.
the museum itself is very informative and has English translations.

I visited Tezuka Manga Museum and had great experience including draw cartoons, take picture with interesting statues, etc. However, the museum closes 17:00, so visitors should hurry up and go to cartoon library on 3rd floor. It provides almost every comic books of Osamu Tezuka.

At first we were really surprised at the low price of the tickets (700¥ per adult) but then we saw how small it was. We had tons of fun and went nuts at the 3rd floor gift shop. You cannot access the gift shop w/o having purchased a ticket. Looking back, the 700¥ was a steal.

Special event Capcom characters Tezuka style. COVID 19 precautions wear a mask, take your temperature, wash your hands and maintain social distance. From Hankyu Takarazuka or JR line arrive on foot in less than 10 minutes, or park your car nearby. It takes about 1-3 hours to completely see gallery. Currently comic books aren't available to read on site. Wheelchair access and elevators available.

Super charming museum housing Tezuka's prolific works from the time he was a child to his final years. Small, but literally packed with interesting pieces, including an interactive library of his animated works!

Tezuka Osamu is my hero. The greatest manga artist and animator of all time. This museum pays a beautiful tribute to his work, life and passion. My favorite part is the animation studio where you can make your own short animation!
