Hakuba Station

As I didn’t know where the bus stop for going to Hakuba Gondola was, I asked the woman at the store in Hakuba station, and she helped me as much as she could. I really appreciate how polite and kind she was. After I finished my trip, I waited at the station and met her again; she always smiles at everyone. It really made my day.

Has a free foot bath. And a view of the snow capped peaks as soon as you step out. Souvenir shops and restaurants. One of my favourite stations.

A relatively small station with helpful staff (speak English quite well), a small kiosk where you may buy snacks and a small seating area.

Both platform 1 and 2 are undercover, which provide great cover in the bad weather. The station is very close to Happo-One snow resort. You may take a bus or taxi, with taxis costing between 1200 to 1300 yen for two people.

The warm and vintage atmosphere i get from this station. Worth to stop a bit and enjoy the surrounding. They even have the free footbath that we can enkoy while waiting for the next train. Many restaurants and gifts shop nearby too. There is also a super good cafe just 2 min walk from the station.

The nearest station to Hakuba Hapoo One Snow Resort. If you want to get here with JR pass, its better to take Azusa Express from Shinjuku (I went here by using Shinkansen to Itoigawa and took local train to Hakuba) and if you want to reserve seat, come earlier. The waiting room is small and it is very crowded in certain times.

Japanese railway stations are really awesome even in a remote village. Great service and convinience.

If you are trekking in the area you can leave bags here for up-to 4 days in the coin lockers. Pay for the first day when you put your bags in, and pay again when you retrieve them. All local shops can change your notes for 100 yen coins.

Train Station Staff were so helpful and friendly.

その昔、唐沢岳から八方尾根を降りてきた記憶があります。その頃は白馬を『しろうま』と読む人がまだいたような気がします。今はそんな人いないんだろうね。（詳しくは深田久弥先生の『日本百名山』参照）

駅の方はすっごく親切で助かりました！待合室にもWi Fi完備です。
ただ駅や駅前にはATMはないので現金が必要な場合は徒歩10分のデリシアまで行く必要があります。近くのデイリーヤマザキは潰れてました。

白馬駅に特急しなのに乗って出かけました。それも信濃大町から白馬まで短い！あっと言う間に着いたよ。天気が良くて北アルプスを望む白馬駅は素晴らしい絶景駅でした。撮影スポットにはとてもよく撮影できました。あんまり上手ではありませんが写真ご覧ください。そして帰りにも特急しなのに乗って自由席先頭に乗って車窓を楽しみながら帰りました。始発駅で混んでなかったので鉄道好きの私には至福の時間でした。乗り物大好き！是非白馬駅で絶景楽しんでみてくださいね！

冬に来るとスキー客で凄いにぎわい。外国人も多い。白馬岳がよく見える。

特急あずさが毎日上下１本ずつ、土日に長野行き臨時列車リゾートビューふるさとが停車します。
４月上旬に訪問して、駅前から冠雪した北アルプスが綺麗に見えてめっちゃ感動♪
ロッジ風の三角屋根の駅舎もお洒落で印象的！
駅前に品揃えが豊富なお土産屋さんが２軒あり、ロータリーには無料の駐車場もあるので、白馬のお土産を買うならここがいいかも！
少し離れた所に道の駅白馬もありますが、ここは駐車台数が少なく、土日はタイミングが悪いと止められないので･･･
白馬を代表する絶景スポットの大出公園まで徒歩約１５分です。

前日から大阪→名古屋→中津川→松本(宿泊)。
朝早く4:30過ぎにムーンライト信州で松本から終点白馬に到着しました。次の南小谷行きまでは1時間以上時間があるので、駅にある足湯に使ってゆっくり待ちました。

「リゾートビューふるさと」号に乗りました。土日・休日のみの運行のようですが、時間が合えば乗って楽しい列車です。
速く走るわけではないですが、全指定席で大きい窓でゆっくり景色を楽しむことができます。

白馬らしい山小屋風な駅舎が素敵です。

駅を降りると目の前には北アルプスが広がる、自然豊かな観光地でもあります。

近年は外国人観光客が増え、冬季の白馬村内は、日本人より外国人のほうが多くなります。

駅前はコンビニもなく、普段は閑散としております。

関東方面からは特急あずさ、中京方面からは特急しなの、関西方面からは新幹線糸魚川駅で乗り換えて大糸線で白馬へ来れます。

長野市方面からは特急バスがあり、新幹線長野駅から特急バスで白馬入りするのが一番早いルートかと思います。

またロータリー内には無料駐車場があり（原則二時間までと書いてあります）無料Wi-Fiも飛んでおります。
