This sacred shrine is located in Miyazaki prefecture and is considered as one of the most famous shrine here. If you wanna know more about the shrine, then I suggest paying it a visit and don't forget to pray at the temple while you're there.

A secret and magical Shrine having legend dating back thousand years

Ancient shrine that contributed to Sun goddess. You can walk to the cave that had her myth here. Short hiking with mountain vibe is better with companions.

The beautiful walk to the shrine is along two intersecting rivers whereby you must cross a picturesque arch bridge. The shrine itself is located in a small cave asking the riverbed. Parking and entrance fee is free and the walk down is less than 10 minutes. Highly recommended!

Looked holy like it should be because Japanese Shinto religion comes from the Amaterasu Oomikami meaning Sun Goddess.

The day we came was a rainy day so fewer people were here which makes this place more placid~

A beautiful cave hidden behind the main Iwato Shrine, with many balancing rocks. Definitely worth a visit - the pictures don't do justice.

Great place full of Japanese legends, culture, and history. The temple is easy to get to if you have a car. The cave is a steep walk. It’s still totally worth it.

A very tranquil place. Especially during Autumn when the foliage becomes vibrant with red and orange. And having mango ice cream is such a treat on the mountains😁

Beautiful river walk just past the main shrine leads you through to a cave shrine with stacked cobble stones all over. Very highly recommended
