Hands down the best atmosphere, drinks, and music in Hakuba!! The staff are generally beautiful people, but the owner has a somewhat of a twisted sense of humor which can come across as abrasive. After a few minutes of chatting with him you will understand where he's coming from, his passion for his business, quality, and music which, I guess, is what makes Sugar such an amazing venue.

Favourite late night spot in hakuba for cocktails and techno 🙏 crazy good soundsystem and music. Best bartenders in hakuba.

I love the different areas (the bar, low seat lounge, and dance floor), with the Pioneer sound system installed there.

Definitely my favorite bar in Hakuba.

My partner and I came in for some drinks after dinner. We were very impressed by the decor, it was well finished and had a great atmosphere. The drinks were very resonably priced with great quality alcohol and cocktail selection. Yuki, the owner, was very welcoming and manages a well run business. A gem for the area.

Sugar is a new and super cool bar/ club. Firstly the building itself is very historic as the space has housed bar/ clubs since the 80s. The sound system is world class, the sound is extremely smooth, many top Japanese DJs play there. The night I visited they had a famous local Hakuba and it was super fun. They had my favourite drink oolong hai (oolong tea sochu highball). The location is super convenient in the middle of Happo village. The lighting is super nice and the staff were super friendly. Definitelu a must go night life destination in Hakuba. The space is divided into three areas you can just go to have a drink, there is a lounge area and there is a dance floor. Xx

Love this bar - friendly staff, 日本語English friendly, tasty drinks, great vibe, DJ booth, pretty big dance floor for Hakuba and cozy sofas.
My friend and I had an amazing time. Will be back again soon!

Great chilled vibes, reasonably priced and delish cocktails. Yuzu Sour was a hilight. Complimentary coat check which is great in the cold weather. Plenty of seating, can pay cash or card and staff speak English and Japanese.

Shout out to Yuki and the awesome staff for hosting us this past week, had an amazing New Year’s Eve.

Had the best time definitely will be back next time I’m in Hakuba!
