Batik is an ancient Javanese (Indonesian)  technique of wax resist dyeing technique  applied to the whole cloth. Cloth may be cotton or silk. This shop in Kandy is a very small one with only one girl managing the entire shop, who doesn't know English. So there is language problems to communicate with her . But the collection of the shop is really good, and the price is dam cheap in comparisation to Indonesian batiks. Must recommended place to buy Kandy batiks.
