One of the best hotels we’d stayed in for our Sri Lanka vacation.
Lovely and comfortable room, attentive hotel staff and the food is good.
The staff handling the turndown service was extremely creative. We came back to our room on both nights with cute animals made out of towels in our room! 😍 (see pics)

We highly recommend staying here if you are stopping off for a few days in Kandy.

The hotel is located on top of a mountain. It has only 9 exclusive rooms in the middle of nature. The waiters and hotel staff are very friendly and attentive. They have a restaurant overlooking the town of Kandy and a swimming pool with beautiful views. Totally recommended to have a magical stay.

Lovely hotel high above Kandy with great views. Rooms very clean, tasteful and modern. Small pool in a pleasant garden overlooking the city and distant hills. Staff were absolutely charming, friendly and helpful. Great selection of drinks and wide variety of meals, all of which were tasty and well presented. Thoroughly recommended.

The stay was short over a very busy long weekend, yet the staff made sure it was a memorable one. Secluded from the general hustle of the Kandy town, surrounded by greenery and nature an ideal place to completely unwind and be cut-off from the rest of the world. Rooms were well maintained and adhered to heath protocols. Staff was very friendly and courteous and coordinated our stay well from the time of reservation to final check-out. Food was fresh and a variety was presented.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning lush green location. Very friendly staff although perhaps too over-attentive. We were the only guests and at times it felt overbearing. A few times we thought we were having a peaceful romantic drink on the terrace to realise there was a member of staff standing behind us, or even hiding around a corner! But lovely food, great pool, and comfortable rooms.

The manager, Angelo, is simply amazing. He made everything truly special form the moment we booked until we left. He made sure everything was arranged perfectly. Provided us with suggestions and even helped with logistics during the bio-bubble. He was even contacting other hotels in our itinerary to tell them how to arrange the paperwork for us to visit the tourist sites during the August/September 2021 lockdown! Angelo is the best and he made this boutique hotel experience truly magical. He arranged several truly special surprises for my Fiancee on her birthday and it really made everything so special. The food is delicious and the food staff friendly, attentive and helpful. The rooms were wonderful and well appointed. The spa was nice and relaxing. The pool was awesome as well. It was truly a perfect stay!

Outstanding service at a small hotel with a nice view on the hills above Kandy. The food was tasty and fresh, the spa was excellent and all the staff were very well trained, polite and good at their job.

We stayed one night only and would have stayed longer if possible as it was a great experience.

Only downside are the mattresses in the rooms which could be replaced by proper hard foam mattresses that can take the many guests that visit this hotel.

Otherwise all good and overall a very relaxing and calming atmosphere.

Can we give 6 stars ?

We stayed at King’s Pavilion for 2 nights in the Harispattu Suite.

It’s a beautiful little boutique hotel located in the mountain, very closed to Kandy. A hidden gem.

The pool is charming in the garden.

The restaurant has an elaborated a-la-carte menu. We tried the Sri Lankan curry for dinner and the Sri Lankan breakfast. Delicious and generous portion. They also have international food options.

The staff is very friendly, polite and courteous.

The room is spacious, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom has a big bathtub with a nice shower. It’s very private and we had our own balcony.

One of the best hotel we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka.

We came here to have some spa only, picked the “King’s Feeling” package.
The massage by Renuka was amazing, by the way, I asked for a strong one.
Note that a steem is basically a small hammam for two people.

Incredible place just outside Kandy. Swimming pool in the garden has a great view. We stayed in the Queen's suite which is simply umbelievable: the bath is huge and the service is excellent. Food is very good both with European food and cingalese food

I stayed at Kings Pavillion, a boutique hotel in Kandy in April '21 as part of a mandatory 24 hour quarantine when I visited my family.

They were one of two hotels in Kandy approved by the Sri Lanka Tourist Board as meeting or exceeding the COVID-19 safety protocols.

I arranged for their transport to pick me up at the airport at 2.30am. The driver was waiting for me and had completed all arrangements with the health authorities to allow me to leave hassle-free.

The hotel has several spacious chalets in addition to rooms. Even at 4.30am, the staff was gracious, friendly and welcoming. Anticipating that I might be hungry, they arranged a welcoming snack and a pot of hot tea. This is true Sri Lankan hospitality!

The meals were delicious and filling with a variety of Sri Lankan and western dishes. The rooms were large, airey and comfortable. The manager, Hirantha and his staff made sure that my stay was comfortable as I waited to clear COVID-19 testing.

When I returned to Sri Lanka in December, my family and I went over for dinner. Again, the service and meal was above expectations.

I definitely recommend Kings Pavillion as the place to stay when visiting Kandy and Sri Lanka.

The property is located in the heights of Kandy, in a lush islet of greenery and exotic flowers. The place is calm and relaxing.

The staff are welcoming, attentive, and professional.
Note the dedication and kindness of manager Angelo, who accompanied me in the complex preparations for “entering the territory”.

Before my arrival I received an upgrade.

The "Kings suite" is exceptional. She has generous volumes and a terrace overlooking the garden and the infinity pool.
All the windows in the suite form a veritable glass wall and frame the landscape.
The colonial-style furniture is humble, elegant, made of exotic wood.
The suite is bright, all the windows overlook the garden and the surrounding green hills. It is equipped with air conditioning.

The entire suite, bed linen and towels, are spotlessly clean.

The bathroom is remarkable. It is equipped with a walk-in shower, a free-standing bathtub, a piece of furniture with two sinks.
The freestanding raised bathtub gives character to the bathroom. A true decorative object, she is installed facing a bay window to create an atmosphere conducive to calm and admire nature serenely.

Disposable hotel supplies (toothbrush, soap, slippers, salt and shower gel, handkerchiefs, etc. are available.

The bedroom has an office and lounge area.
The imposing king-size four-poster bed in solid wood, the airy white curtains, the boat blinds and the materials used give character to the atmosphere of this colonial-style room.
Storage and bedside furniture bring more personality
The harmony is soft and totally in keeping with the architecture of the place.

The bedding is very comfortable.

The living room is equipped with armchairs, sofa, flat screen, coffee table.
The free Wi-Fi connection is functional and efficient.

The property has a restaurant. The dining room is located on the ground floor.
It is a space largely open to the garden. Having breakfast there with birdsong is a privileged moment.
The breakfast is very generous. It can be continental or local. The establishment is able to adapt and offer breakfasts close to English or American lunch.

Traveling in foreign countries requires adaptation and not requiring standardization.
The Kings Pavilion is a 5 star hotel. It is well above the requirements of this category, according to the criteria for ranking tourist hotels established by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). The price-performance ratio is very good in view of the service and the services offered.

one of the city’s most exclusive residential locales, which offers a sense of seclusion while also being within easy reach of Kandy town. It was here that a corporate bungalow was established set amidst breathtaking vistas of the area.

It is this very bungalow that has been transformed by Kings Pavilion, preserving its traditional rustic charm and infusing touches of luxurious elegance. All this, seamlessly blend with unobstructed mountain panoramas of Knuckles on one side and Hanthana on the other.

At our luxury hotel in Kandy, we provide guests a chance to truly appreciate this natural heritage; there are over 50 endemic trees in and around the property and a fascinating array of wildlife including several species of birds, that let you appreciate the true wonder of nature.

Our well trained and professional staff take care of your every need, as we recreate for you the grandeur enjoyed by 17th century kings of Sri Lanka. Kings Pavilion is where you can experience discreet, personalised service and genuine hospitality; it is a place for those who deserve to be treated like royalty.
