Taj Samudra, Colombo

Loved the hotel! It’s right across the beach therefore the views are beautiful. (Provided you get a sea facing room). The mall and eateries are just within the radius of approximately 500 metres.
The staff is warm, friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to meet our expectations. I’d like to mention Mr. Chathur and thank the entire team in the Ports of call for the 2 days we were there, for their hospitality. The breakfast and dinner buffet are a delight. Do not miss the bakery. Love it!
Only suggestion is that they keep the non memory foam pillows in the rooms.

Awesome location, great staff. Overall I think Sri Lankan hospitality is top notch. This is an old property but a great way to start your trip in Sri Lanka. One thing about the hotels we stayed they are very fussy about the quality of foreign currency notes for cash payments. One is likely to have an issue unless notes are in near mint condition.

We were on the vacation to this tour this hotel is quite impressive. Everyone loved the food and there were many options for Indian food. Fruits were very tasty and fresh. There is amazing view of beach and you can go to beach and enjoy with your family. There is a very comfortable fitness centre where you can exercise. At night you should visit marine beach there is an amazing view and you can feel the breeze which will feel another level of excitement. Hospitality is very nice and very polite. Staff is also very nice they will also help you. The hotel will also provide you free taxi for going to casino which also a very nice part of this tour.

Lattice offers a delightful array of beverages and light meals. The coffee is superb, with a range of specialty options that cater to various tastes. I particularly enjoyed the cappuccino, which was rich and perfectly brewed. The pastries and snacks are fresh and delicious, with the croissants being a standout. The menu also features a selection of light meals that are beautifully presented and flavorful, making it more than just a coffee stop.

Had a lovely few nights here as part of our honeymoon. Clean and high quality rooms. They even catered for my vegan requirements by tailoring delicious food and using our suggestions as a guide. Excellent service. Definitely recommend this place!

Beautifully located hotel with a magnificent sea view.
Rooms are very well kept, tidy and clean, bathrooms are clean and big.

The staff is very accommodating for any small needs, good food.

They charge $120 for a Merc Cab that takes us around the place for a day.
Driver Bandu was very good too .

I recently stayed at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was very pleasant, creating a relaxing and enjoyable environment. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from.

What stood out the most was the exceptional service provided by the staff, from the front desk to the buffet area. The team at the buffet, especially Oshan and his colleagues, were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was memorable. Their hospitality was truly impressive and the best I have ever encountered.

Additionally, the hotel was very accommodating by allowing us a late checkout, which added to the convenience and comfort of our stay. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend Taj Samudra Hotel for its superb hospitality and excellent service !!

It was a lovely experience at the Taj Samudra. Stayed there for 4 nights. Ocean view room was a delight, room was upgrade to a Club level. Being a member of the Taj, I got a good deal with the meal plan included in it. Check-in was smooth.
Mr Suranga was very polite and kind enough to take our luggage to the room.
Room was big and clean as well as the bathroom.
All the meals, whether breakfast,lunch, or dinner,were very elaborate. There were lots of choices, including a special section for the local Srilankan cuisines.
Hospitality was superb by every staff. Every time you see a staff,you are greeted with a smile. Dining area was quite spacious and clean.
Special mention to the following staff who went above and beyond to help and accommodate us - Ms Dikekha, Mr Chaminda and Mr Suranga.
They extended our stay for 5 hours as flight was late at night.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Taj. Definitely recommend to others.

I celebrated my birthday dinner with family at Golden Dragon restaurant at Taj yesterday and it was a good experience from start to end. Kasun and his team provided excellent service and the food was amazing. Thank you to the entire team for all your efforts in making yesterday's dining experience a memorable one.

This hotel is located in the heart of Colombo, in front of Galle Face. It has a beautiful landscape, and there is ample parking. The hotel also has plenty of space and an authentic look.

Our stay is not over yet. 2 days over and 2 more days to go. We are glad we booked our stay with taj Samudra . From managers, chefs , workers, everyone is a Gem . I would definitely write the names of few Gems here - first and above all Ranjani (the girl who gifted teddy bears to my little one and made them happy, this sweet gesture is added to our memory bucket and kids will always remember their stay because of this cute gesture - we appreciate that).
Secondly i need to appreciate the chef Arun and chef Dilan who made ghosht biryani for us . They know how to make perfect blend of spices and aroma in indian dishes.

I will definitely write about the next two days experience as well. But so far these are the people we want to appreciate as they are definitely the asset of Taj samudra and making their guests more comfortable and compelling guests to stay here again with their sweet gestures.

Just one thing i feel was not right was the distorted view from room as the paper on occean view glass is expired and vission is not even 60% clear. We do appreciate that they upgraded the room for us but to enjoy occean view glass should not have expired blurry paper over it. Rest all cool.

Excellant food at Navratna as well as excellant service by Chief Chouhan. He really know the taste of Indians, after struggling to get good food (without spice - which is srilanka favoutire) he understood our requirement and made our food to perfection making us enjoy our sons birthday treat.

I had a wonderful stay at Taj Samudra Colombo. The hospitality was exceptional, and I want to especially thank Ms. Berni (apologies if I misspelt the name) for upgrading me to a beautiful ocean-side view room. The service was impeccable, and I truly appreciated the warm welcome. I am looking forward to returning soon and experiencing the same excellent hospitality and services. Highly recommended!

Want to appreciate reception guy Manju who upgraded our room and gave us oppurtunuty to stay in thr beautiful big suite type room with a fantastic view. And secondly we want to appreciate the guy anushka (front dest man) who guided us so well about the scammers around hotel . If he was not there we could be the victom as whatever he said we encountered but his guidance helped us overcome it . Guided us about places around, gifted us hand crafted fabric and wooden elephants which we still have in our drawingroom . We will miss you anushka whenever we will see your gift.
We will definitely return to stay here again one day.

Came here for the breakfast buffet at Ports of Call Restaurant. The food was so delicious and it was nice to experience overall. We enjoyed all the food also they served us food from the action station to our table. So we didn't waste our time standing in front of the action station. If you visit the breakfast buffet, please don't miss the chai they are serving at the table. The hospitality of the staff was appreciated. Specially Indunil & Dilhara who gave us excellent service. Also, Tithila, Thuhina, Oshan, Chaminda & Athauda were attentive staff, they were very courteous and always there to pick up dishes and check to see if we wanted any other services. Also Nilantha in the lobby gave us a great service. Thank you so much for the unforgettable service and see you soon!

Had an amazing and grand Easter lunch at “Port’s of Call Restaurant “ with the Family. There was an excellent spread and we were spoilt for choice with food and goodies from different international and local cuisines. The food and atmosphere were nothing short of the highest quality and class, with live music to keep everyone entertained. We also noticed that in lieu of Easter there were several activities organized for the kids in the pool area which was a nice and welcoming touch:) The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to the team comprising of Dilhara, Chathura, Oshan, Gayan, Sumedha, Thushara, and Chaminda. Keep up the good work!

Amazing stay, great location bang opposite to the shore and vicinity to many popular space. The service and the rooms were also good. The food was excellent and very tasty

Kasun & Lalantha from Golden Dragon were exceptional.
The service was fantastic, not only the two of them but the entire staff were amazing, from manager downwards.
