Simple setting but don't let that fool you. The food is absolutely amazing. Super delicious and full of authentic flavors.

I've eaten here two times so far and my taste buds have been dancing with delight as they congregate with every mouthful. 💯

It's a full on party with different ranges of textures and spices. This chef really knows how to deliver food joy even though its onion and garlic free. 🥳

So much so that I am going back again to enjoy some more. 😋

A beautiful restaurant in Kandy with the most delicious vegan (Jain) food I’ve had while in Sri Lanka. The lady at the restaurant is a very kindhearted person who is so lovely to chat to and her daughter is the chef. The restaurant is quiet, clean, and affordable. The menu has an option to choose spice level (low/medium/high) which is helpful if you find Sri Lankan food to be spicy. I would highly recommend coming here!

We loved this restaurant. We were very well looked after and the lady showed great concern for our very sleepy son. We had a delicious vegan thali and vegan coconut shakes. The thali was a great price at 2000 rupees for 2 to share. The little coconut and date cake to finish was yummy. The lady also shared some Sri Lankan cooking tips. This restaurant is also alium free so excellent for people who need this type or diet. Suitable for vegans/gluten free/no aliums. Kids menu thali is 700 rupees.

Very tasty, authentic, and affordable Indian food. Highly recommend to try their Thali! Only 2000 Rs for two people. Our food was served by a lovely Amma.

Delicious Thali - a set of different small dishes. The mushroom and jackfruit are my favourite - very well done dishes, with the right spices and savoury herbs. And we love the Amma that so sweetly attend to our order.

Hands down. Best vegan indian food in Kandy. The lady runs the steps up and down like a marathon champion. Cheap, authentic, support it!

Went here for dinner with my husband and two young children. Food was delicious and suited or dietary needs (no egg, no milk). We shared one thali plate between the four of us with some extra rice. Variety was really good and if we weren’t leaving Kandy tomorrow we would’ve come back. Our eldest is very fussy with his food and the kind lady cook/manager of the restaurant kindly offered to get him some more of the poppadoms he loves. One of my favourite meals from our holiday so far. Staff was very friendly and their English was very good.

Such amazing food, authentic Thai plates all beautifully cooked and presented, extremely well priced and such lovely service it’s a whole family cooking and running it together. If you’re in kandy it’s a must visit for dinner.

Wonderful old lady running this small vegetarian/vegan restaurant, offering really tasty food for a very low price. The place is a bit dingy, with neon lights and plastic chairs, but to me it just added to the vibe. Will probably come here again tomorrow! ☺

Such a lovely place, the atmosphere was created by the hosts who were very welcoming and happy to talk about the foods and culture. We recommend a set for 2 to try a variety of local dishes. It is a family ran restaurant; food served by the parents and cooked by the daughter. It was a great experience. Truthfully recommended !!!

Doesn’t look like much at first but the old lady serving is lovely and the food is very tasty. You can even choose your spicyness level which is nice :)

This was a great restaurant and incredible value, with Thali for 2 people being 2000 rupees. Amazing vegetarian curries that we had never had before. The woman running the restaurant was lovely and even allowed another restaurant patron up to her kitchen to see her cooking. Including this info in the review as we didn’t know this and would have loved to take up the opportunity as well!

What an experience. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced and we spoke to the kind woman for a long time. Also they know exactly what vegan is which is so great! Many delicious curries and the samosas are incredible !

Very delicious Thali and friendly old woman who is cooking amazing and talking with guests about life. The atmosphere is not very cozy but typically for cheap sri lankan restaurants. Would definetely eat there again!

Long story short: Don‘t hesitate coming here, it‘s fantastic. :)
First we weren‘t sure if Nagalingam‘s place was closed but then we got welcomed by this wonderful lady that owns the shop.
The food was incredibly delicious - we had the vegan Thali for two and the dishes just kept coming. Mouthwatering curries, Dal, fresh Samosas, Kotti & a small Dessert was all included.

Coming back to Kandy, this would be our first stop to have dinner again. 🫶

The host was very kind and friendly. She is a nice older lady with peaceful and mother-like attitude. She makes sure everyone is satisfied and enjoys their food. Which simply put is delicious! A Thali set offered numerous curries and other smaller snacks. Ginger tea was pleasant.

Very delicious vegetarian or vegan food, we ordered the special menu for two people and it was super delicious. Especially the samosas and fried pineapple and other fried things are so so good.
The owner is super nice and she told us some interesting stories.
Overall a great experience. So if you are in Kandy and want to eat some vegetarian food in a local place, go there you won't regret it 😉

So far the best food we ever had in Sri Lanka! We went to the restaurant twice this week and both times we ordered the thali, which has an amazing variety and is so tasty! The lady who runs the place is also amazing, we loved chatting with her while we ate our delicious dinner. We will definitely come back when we are in Kandy again!
