Very beautiful landscape view trail through the swamp, and also not very long :) Also there is a wachtower for more beautiful view and photos. The place is wrapped in stories and tales back even from 12. century, what you can read in info stans on trail.

Great light hiking spot for families!

Sightseeing tower (from metal) at the very entrance (150m from entrance) with fantastic view on Kangari lake and nature reserve. Stairs and sight-seeing platform are made of “transparent” metal plates - first time I was feeling not comfortable due to my fear of heights. Tower itself is no that height, but still height enough :)

Except few fallen trees - there is possibility to explore the walking trail with wheelchair, or for young families with small children in babby carriage. Good quality trail (biggest part of trail covered, built from wood planks) goes “round”. From sightseeing tower some 350m distance to nice view spot to the “Large Kangari lake”. Bit longer trail, called “Burlakkalniņs”, around 1km lenght goes through swamp, both they are connected.

From facilities there is only wooden toilet (not the cleanest) at the entrance, and really small car parking for 5-10 cars.

No any tickets, entrance is free. Since this is nature reserve - you are not allowed to pickup any flowers, berries, mushrooms. As well - entrance with pets is not allowed.

Gravel road, last 5km both, from Ropazi or from Suntazu direction with quie high slope on both sides of the road - so drive carefully!

Great, new watchtower and a lovely trail with some hidden gems like world war fort ruins and a memorial stone just off the trail

A very nice place to visit in any season, it has variety of lake, forest, viewing tower and a walk through swampy area on wooden trail. It is also not far from Riga, not extremely long (easy to conquer for kids too) and not as crowded as more popular trails (if you get there before noon). Recommended for nature lovers.

Very relaxing and pretty short (~1h). The view from the tower is great. The path in the woods is convenient and has some interesting elements to it (encouragement to exercise, facts about the place, history, vegetation etc) And there wasn't many people on Tuesday evening :)

Newly built walking path with Tower for sightseeing. Overall great place for a walk in nature. Walk is about 2km, but gets rather slippery in wet weather

The observation tower near the entrance to the trail offers outstanding sights of the surrounding forested hills. The lake is very dark and deep. It is surrounded by a thin wimpy forest which opens up into a vast moor with great biological diversity. A great atmospheric experience in the autumn, it feels like the primordial moors of England. However, the claimed hill is not noticeable and no paths lead up to it.
