Anjiamarango Beach Resort

Fantastic resort. The host is very attentive and helpful. As we were on our honeymoon we even got our dinner at our room instead of at the restaurant, flowers included. Rooms are very large. Keep in mind that the rooms are not 100% closed off at the roof so bugs can come in but on the other hand this helps with keeping the place cool. Also the mosquito net helps keeping the bugs out of the bed. There is a beautiful view of the sea at every place, being it the restaurant, bar, your room or the pool. Additionally they have many options of activities at the resort but also outside. Last but not least, you can pay in euros, local currency or by card which is not always a given in Madagascar.

I had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. Philipe and his wife are really nice people. Service is excellent and I loved the fact the the expeditions was a collaboration with the local people.The place is a real nature experience as well. You will find a lot of exotic animals in this area. I would recommend anyone coming to Nosy Be to stay at this place at least for 3 nights.

We really enjoyed the spacious and cosy bungalows with private beach/garden and beds set in this serene bay. Lying in a comfortable bed with a front row view of the sea was very relaxing. The coral reef at a swimming distance was beautiful for snorkelling and sometimes humpback dolphins made an appearance along the bay. We also enjoyed watching kingfishers at breakfast. The hotel offers a good breakfast, good laundry services, clean pool, well maintained ammenities and great activity/outing organisation (we really enjoyed our trip to lokobe). Philippe knows how to welcome and take care of guests, thank you!

The only thing that could perhaps be improved is the food. It was not the best we've had. Some dishes tasted great but there are some dishes on the menu that were disappointing.

Be aware that the towns are quite far. About 1h by car and longer by tuktuk. We did not mind as we were there for the beach and tranquility, but if you want to go out a lot this is not the place for you.

Our stay at Anjiamarango was extraordinary due to the warm and great hospitality we experienced from the owner Philippe. We had a problem with our flight and he helped us fixing it spending hours on daily basis on it. We never experienced such kindness from a hotelier before anywhere on earth. Without his help we would have been stuck on the island. Besides that, the bungalows give you the chance to experience a traditional Malagasy way of living in the pure nature including some visitors like frogs and lizards. We were there at the beginning of the rain season and were able to experience heavy rainfalls during the night, those sounds were remarkable! The restaurant offers highly qualitative and tasty dishes and the chef is trying to personalize the service wherever possible by collecting your lunch or dinner wishes beforehand so that you don't have to wait too long for your meal. The price performance ratio is also fantastic.
The pool gives you a gorgeous view on the ocean and beach, which invites you for long walks. Phillipe is offering lots of activities such as canoeing, mountain biking (free of charge) and excursions to e.g. Nosy Irania, National Park or whale watching which are highly recommendable. The staff was very attentive and friendly with a high service level coming close to a real 5 star hotel service. The location of the resort and reaching it is so adventurous and impressive as well. Twice a week there is live entertainment with local bands and singers which allows you to take a dive into the local culture. All in all, we can truely recommend Philippe's lovely resort and we will come back one day bringing friends and family as well to this little paradise. Highly recommend if someone wants to relax. No words more needed!! Lovely hospitality and great service!! We also tried several activities organized by resort.

My husband and I spent 12 days at Anjiamarango, and we would absolutely go back! The resort is gorgeous and secluded with plenty of activities that kept us busy, and the staff is absolutely wonderful! We felt so taken care of by everyone at the resort!

There are many free activities included with your stay, and even more activities and excursions that you can pay for. Whatever you decide to do, they will arrange it all. We mostly slept, ate and lounged, but the times that we did excursions the staff organized everything, including transfers, paid for it up front and provided water bottles, snacks and anything else we might need.

We loved how they took care of the extra stuff, it really made a difference to our experience. They really want you to relax and enjoy your time so they pay for everything for you up front and then add it to your bill at the end. Everything was very reasonably priced (IMO), and the food was fantastic too! So fresh, delicious and lots of options to choose from!

A few disclaimers: *these are not negative things, just some extras to help you prepare*

1. The wifi on the south end of the property does not work very well, so if that’s important to you, plan accordingly. The wifi in the lounge and near reception worked just fine though, and there’s plenty of comfortable seating.
2. They run everything on a generator and conserve energy by shutting off the power everyday from about 12p-5p and 12a-6a (wifi stays connected all day though). We actually really enjoyed this! Helped us disconnect.
3. The water does not get very hot in the units, or at least it didn’t for us in the 12 days we were there. I think the hot water runs on solar power, or maybe the generator? Either way, it got warm a few times, and we got used to it.
4. Staying so close to nature there are of course the expected insects and rodents. It’s best to keep food out of your cabin and make sure smelly lotions and soaps are closed up and put away.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay so much and would 10/10 recommend this place for anyone who wants to disconnect and relax in a beautiful place with the sweetest staff you could find!

Philippe is a fantastic host. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Chalets very comfortable. Did not miss not having hot water. Excursions were all amazing. Massages were so good we each had four in seven days. Next time we will stay longer!!!

Anjiamarango was wonderful! The owner was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. In spite of covid, we were well looked after, and many details were handled without even needing to think of it. The pool was beautiful and clean, and our children loved gathering shells while we rested in the privacy of our bungalow. A fantastic and peaceful place to rest!

What an amazing experience. The staff are so friendly and they go out of their way to make you as comfortable as possible. The accommodation is great. The restuarant has a wide variety of dishes to choose from. There are fantastic activities to do in the area and can be arranged with the owner. I will definitely be back next year. I really enjoyed relaxing in Anjiamarango resort for three days. Bungalows are really spacious and very nicely decorated with local motifs. They include extra large beds, lounge zone and an large bathroom, with separate toilette and shower. Outside there is porch, a table sitting four people, a mini garden with two hammocks. Every bungalow faces the sea, which is literally very close on high tide. Sunsets are amazing, even from one's bed. The resort includes lots of free amenities onsite like kayaks, snorkeling, petanque, pool table, cable tv... breakfast is also included. Meals are good, though expensive compared with elsewhere in Madagascar. Service is attentive and the manager, Philippe, will make sure you get everything you need. He deals closely with costumers with a very personal treatment.

Philippe is a very special Guy! We were so lucky to met him! He is kind, friendly, honest! If you are in trouble he will be in four to help you!!
His resort is located in the most beatifull and wild part of the isle. But don’t expect Maldivian sea anywhere in the isle: you won’t Find it without a visit to nosy Iranjia.

One of the niciest place of nosy be, lost in the nature, nice and quiet place perfect to refill your batterie! Thanks to the team and to the owner who is just perfect to listen your needs and give you tips for your trip. Beautifull and large room in front of the sea, perfect restaurant with handmade plate. A must go!

Anjiamarango is quite possibly the most peaceful, remote, relaxed resort I have ever stayed at. The facilities are clean and the food is lovely. The staff and service are outstanding.

Phenomenal place, cannot recommend highly enough. This is The place to unwind, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. There was not one part of our stay that should have been different.

Good location.. lovely staff.. very nice rooms.. infinity pool is good.. Good breakfast and very good dinner.. local rum with vanilla was great..
