Zocalo, Taxco

Downtown is the perfect place to hang around with friends, family or just by yourself. You will find delicious food, fantastic spots for pictures and local people are really kind to you.
For some this is not that important but throughout our experience we found out that this is a pet friendly town.

Many restaurants bars and cafes to choose from, during the day you can visit the silver and jewelry shops and be amazed with the designs and the prices!! The trip is just two and a half hours from Mexico City.

Great place to rest after long day. Zocalo is family oriented and good place to take pictures. Enjoy tamales, ponche, bread and walk around the zocalo.

Basically the "center " of town. You are surrounded by restaurants, eateries, bars silver shops, street vendors, with the Mercado a short walk away. Be advised, as Taxco is located in the mountains, the street and terrain is not level. Some individuals may find walking difficult.

Perfect place for chill and enjoy the city atmosphere.

Well known for its silver production and churches are something to see when you are there. Nice scenery on the way to the town.

Taxco is one of the most beautiful places I have seen in Mexico, and the Zocalo is a beautiful part of the town. There are cafes and bars, lots of silver jewelry shops of the best quality and a. Amazing cathedral.

Zócalo is where everyone gathers. You can all kids of fun things. Our favorite was the nieve de limon.

Been here several times over the years. All kinds of shops to visit. Places to eat. Nice views. My brother-in-law and I got a taxi driver to give us a tour of the city. He took us to a lot of places to get excellent views over the city.

Beautiful place, very active during weekends and has bars and restaurants around.

I loved it, a very good place for social meetings. A lot of Indian crafts sales people.

I love Taxco! Beautiful place, very picturesque, great for pictures and great food as well. I'm not too much into shopping but the place is famous for it's silver mines so there are lots of shops selling mostly jewelry. I've been there over 15 times and never disappoints. The only downside is that the streets are tiny and traffic can be bad during the weekends. Parking can be tricky too but last time I paid to park at a lot close to the zocalo and pink church downtown and only paid ten pesos per hour.

Love it!! At day and more beautiful at night. You can enjoy the view from many roof tops restaurants around the zócalo, with the magnificent view of the Santa Prisca.

museums architecture colonial and silver art, and jewelry everywhere on gallery, stores, flea markets and super safe place for walking but no recommend for used you car, the best choice use taxi, is cheap because the parking is very difficult., and please if you found old native people sold some art or products on the streets help and buy something please be compassion.

It's a magical place to visit, the architecture and streets are amazing, they make you feel you are traveling back on time. Santa Prisca Church it's a must seen attraction!

Beautiful environment

Tipical Mexican square centers of government services, restaurants, silver selling shops, unique piece of silver expositions, and differentiated by its enourmous architecture. Architecture needs to be retouched, for preservation. Can't miss out on the views- people are very friendly and always eager to help tourists. Various selection of food and great hotels. Visit the Adobe reaturant. Must visit Taxco at least once in your life.
