Van der Valk Hotel Assen

Great experience the 30th/31st of December at van der Valk hotel Assen. Stayed in the junior suite with a jacuzzi in the room. In the evening went down to the restaurant and dinner was really good! Breakfast in the morning was also really good with a nice buffet and good selection of breakfast items. Also had a station where they made fresh omelettes with vegetables and cheese. Overall would definitely stay again!

Very friendly, welcoming, has very good rooms for dogs next to a massive wooded area. Perfect. And our dog really enjoyed the excellent treats worth over 5 euro. Breakfast had the most choices of food and drink I've ever seen ever before.

Had a lovely break in this hotel. We were in a ground floor room because we brought our Labrador and could just walk out the room into the woods. Lovely clean room, awesome bathroom and the breakfast choices were overwhelming!

Confusing room layout, really easy to get lost trying to find the reception from ones room. Yes, there are enough signs to help you find your way once one gets the hang of it.

The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and with great quality bedshit. Modern bathroom with bath and excellent shower. Breakfast was super well served (buffet style), with many fruits and natural juices, different kinds of bread, delicious mini croissants, English breakfast, pancakes.... a super brunch! A bit too many people, though. But definitely recommended.

This is the crown example of value for money. For a reasonable price the hotel offers 5 star amenities. The rooms are quiet and fully equipped including airco and coffee maker. The buffet breakfast is absolutely fantastic and worth a stay on its own

I was there only for breakfast, which was very good because of large amount of food and drinks to eat and drink. I was very satisfied. Impressive was the amount of chargers to electric cars, especially Tesla.

Really nice and spacious hotel, the staff was super nice and helpful, the restaurant and the bar have a great menu and the food is delicious. I was there with my 11 month old baby and everything went smoothly, the staff went the extra mile to make her feel happy and welcomed. Totally recommend.

Had a light meal with my mother, her soup was fresh and tasty, my club sandwich was too, good portion size, nice plates & presentation.
Side order of chips was in inspiring, but my request for lots of mayonaise to dip was quipped with a good size bowl of the stuff, well done, top marks for the student who waited on us.
Prices om in relation to producr, very good overall experience.

I experienced this hotel several times during my business trips.
The hotel was a given a makeover recently. The bedrooms are comfortable and the meeting rooms well equipped. The food is amazing both at breakfast and lunch buffet and at "à la carte" dinner. I will suggest this accomodation!

This is the best hotel in Assen. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Speaking English here is no problem. I definitely recommend having some of your meals here at the hotel, especially breakfast, but even the bar area is a great place for food. Ask to try the Maalust beer.

Great place to have a drink, lunch or dinner. Average price for reasonably good quality, but no haute cuisine.
Relaxed atmosphere, never very quiet, but also never disturbingly busy either. Mainly for business people.

This is de nicest van der Valk hotel in the Netherlands in my opinion. Rooms are awesome, staff is very helpful and friendly and the breakfast buffet is simply the best I have come across in all hotels I visited.

Great location for professional events. Catering is very good and the staff are friendly. The facilities are well maintained and there is good wheelchair access. I would recommend this location to organisations and individuals.

Arrived at the hotel with 20 km left on the car battery with no free charging poles available for charging as they were all occupied. The receptionist Chavelle took empathy and called up the owner of the hotel who was obliging enough to help a fellow electric driver in need 😁
