The Gardens of Appeltern

We had a wonderful time there, even though it was one of the hottest days of the year. Shade was impossible to find but then our mom's birthday really let her shine.

A wonderful, inspiring place, I recommend it to every fan of gardens, but also to those who like nature. You need to find time for at least 4 hours. In the area there are opportunities to have a snack or coffee and sit directly in the gardens

Great place for a day out for the garden lovers. A huge place with many different areas and gardens for every taste. Also fun for kids as there is a playground and some other fun things to see and do. It also has various places to have a drink and some food. Finally there is a nice shop with garden flowers and all kind of ornaments and other gifts. Plenty of parking.

An amazing garden full of garden inspiration. A great playground for children that will entertain adults as well. It is worth spending a whole day here. The plant shop is great, they don't have a big selection, but I found what I was looking for :).

Very beautiful gardens. Great if you need inspiration for your garden or just like looking at plants. We had a great day. The parking was good and costs 3 euro.
We were a bit disappointed by the quality of the food but that is personal preference.
There are a lot of paths to follow and a recommended route would have been nice (if there is one I am sorry I missed it. )

Oh man, what a beautiful place to spend the day. An amazing place to have an idea for your garden, and even if you don't have one, just to enjoy the walk! We went to have an idea on what to do in our garden, and now we're more confused! So many beautiful designs and ideas! We don't know where to begin with!

Beautiful place to visit any time of the year. There is always something new to see and the gardens are set out well with estabilished plants. Super for researching garden design ideas or plant choice . Set in a beautiful landscape accentuating the beauty of the site.

An incredibly beautiful and unique park that you definitely need to visit. There are many different unique plants, trees, bushes, flowers. The landscape is impressive especially for gardeners like me) There are benches where you can sit down and relax and just enjoy the moment.

Really the biggest showgardens I have ever seen. Very good maintenance and we got some excellent garden ideas.

This must be one of the best designed and maintained gardens in Netherlands.Its huge variety and spacious layout reminds me of the Keukenhof....only not in regards to flowers but specifically for plants.Its really worth the trip.

Wonderful gardens, not just for getting garden inspiration, but also for nature walks and botanical photography. You can easily spend a whole day here! Well worth the money to be honest.

I visited this place first with my parents when they were looking for garden ideas, must have been in the 90s. Then one time with a friend about 15 years ago. And now again I went with a friend and our photo cameras fully charged. We had an absolutely wonderful day. And made hundreds of macro photos from the beautiful plants and flowers, and especially the amazing amount of insects that were buzzing all around. Made me so happy to see how this place contributes to biodiversity.

It was so great to see how the park seems to expand in size every time I visit. Something new and interesting to discover. Also had amazing fun at the giant air castle cushion for jumping, at the discovery island.

Must admit the selection of food at the 'Winter Accommodation' cafe was rather small. Just a few salads, sandwiches and cakes. Most of the buffet was not in use. But enjoyed it anyways, especially on the wonderful shaded terrace overlooking the meadows.

One of the best things about the park is that it's so big. There were lots of cars in the parking lot but everyone was nicely spread out throughout the grounds and it never seemed busy at all.

All in all really recommended for a peaceful day of exploring the gardens.

Amazing gardens. Inspiring. Beautiful and varied. Accidentally ended up here (my girlfriend and I took a wrong turn during an NS walk) and was stunned by the love and craftsmanship with which these gardens are maintained. Well worth the 12,50. Must cost a fortune to keep these gardens in such a good shape. Looking forward to coming back.

Super concept. This is a great place for garden inspiration. Well maintained with a nice nursery. Visit anytime of the year, to see everything you'll need a full day.
