Sometimes just want Filipino food.
This is the place to go.

It's not a cheap restaurant, but the quality of the food, the service, and the decor make up for the price.

It's also a great place to introduce foreigners to Filipino food.

They serve authentic Kapampangan dishes. This place is a must go. Their food are delicious, affordable and true to its roots and the food culture they represent. Their exotic dishes is a must try - should try at least one of them: the camaro (crickets), beetles, frogs and others. The servers are almost, if not all, indigenous Aetas which means the establishment is helping the nearby Aeta community to get decent employment and better living condition. They are friendly and attentive too. The atmosphere of the place is also good, it is well-lit and well-ventilated and plenty of seating.

We ordered Kare-kareng Liempo, Laing, Burong Hipon, Okoy Kalabasa and Halo-halo. One of the best tasting halo-halo I've ever eaten.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in Angeles. Travel from Manila was worth it as the food tastes great! Really great! Reasonable price with generous servings. If you're looking for authentic Kapampangan cuisines, I highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely come back.

We always go here for family gatherings. The food is great and the staff are friendly. The owner is really nice. I would recommend their Pork Binagoongan. It has the right amount of saltiness and the pork is juicy. It will perfectly go with your hot rice wrapped in banana leaves. The ensaladang paco would make this dish even better. I liked the food here so much I decided to get married here.

A large variety of kapampangan and Filipino food can be ordered here. Servings are huge for the price. Place is a bit run down but still instagram worthy. Service is great, I guess since we went during dinner time and not that many guests were there. You will get your money's worth to eat here.

All foods are so delicious and affordable with big serving good for group sharing for any occasions💕💯highly recommended specially for those wanting to try and explore eating exotic foods(Hindi ka mag sisi) Cuz all of their foods are so flavorful, the Ginataang Suso/Kuhol and the fried frog you must try it talaga mapapailang rice ka nga naman sarap😋 ..you may also need to prepare extra money for those kababayang Aeta's selling their fruits and vegetables out side of the premises .no wonder why the name of this restaurant is Matam-ih means Delicious in Aeta's dialect 💕such native experience with wonderful ambiance💪🥰

I came here with my cousins while visiting the Philippines on vacation. We have been here for 3 weeks and this was THE BEST filipino food we had the whole time. Everything was so delicious! I expected the prices to be much higher for such amazing quality of food. Cheryl was such a gracious host with such welcoming hospitality. Thank you so much for a delightful dinner! 🫃

Milk fish sisig was amazing. The Pandan Sansrival Deserves a Michelin star, one of the best cakes I’ve ever eaten.

I like that Matam-ih understands that COVID is airborne unlike some clinicians pretending to be public health experts. Their rabbit sisig is great. The bulalo is good but slightly tough. The pritong hito with burong kanin has an unexpected appeal (I personally don't like buro).

I came to the province of Pampanga because of its notoriety as the culinary capital of the Philippines. My chance to experience this cuisine happened by chance when our hotel recommended Mata-ih Authentic Kapampangan Cuisine. Once seated at our table the menu was presented, and I can only say that there were so many delicious offerings that, I could have spent days returning to enjoy having a taste all that this restaurant had to offer. My choice was something I had heard of by so many people and something I watch many TV show presentations of that when I seen it on the menu I had to order it, Palakang Bukid . This dish was the best presentation of frog that I had ever eaten, being as I am from the southern United States I have eaten frog several times in my life. However, this dish was by far prepared the best of any I have eaten. This restaurant is well worth a visit when visiting the Clark Zone.

Delicious food and big servings! We ordered tugak (palakang bukid), adobong camaro, kare-kare, sisig, nilagang baka, and pork binagoongan. Recommended to those who want to try exotic and authentic food.

Lastly, this resto hires our Aeta brothers and sisters! I commend the owner of this resto for supporting and providing livelihood to the Aeta community.

Good place to try Filipino cuisine and food was good. Price is also reasonable. We just didn’t like the band came to our table, guessing where we were from and sing. We didn’t want to get attention while we were eating and announcing we are foreigners lol Apart from that, it was good and I might come back.
