Zamek Dunajec w Niedzicy

Small, but very nice and interesting castle at the historix hungarian border in Poland. Not only the building but also the surronding worth to visit.

Very nice place to spend a relaxing day with family and friends.
There is a parking place at the entrance in the park which I recommend, as it is much cheaper and bigger than the ones near the castle.
You can rent bikes to explore the area. You will find also bikes with child chair or with carriage for 2 kids.
There are some places to eat or drink something and many small shops for souvenirs.
A small beach is available with sunbeds (payment) or free of charge if you choose to stay on the sand/grass directly. There were also kids playing in the lake so I suppose that it has a part that is not deep and has a smooth entrance (we didn't try it)
We had a ship tour on the lake, that we really liked.

It was worth the visit to this well-preserved castle in the border with Slovakia. The ticket includes a tour guide inside the castle, I believe, only available in Polish language

Try to arrive early during summer holidays, so you don't have the Castle full , we were almost alone at 10am. It's a lovely place, we received a written guide in Slovak, which was enough. For sure it's worth a visit with plenty of other activities for the whole day in the area.

An absolutely beautiful castle with a very reach history, fantastic architecture and a plenty fabulous views across lake.
The tour with a guide will take around one hour but you can go on your own if you prefer. This place is a very popular so very often overcrowded.
There are two car parks, smaller next to castle, usually full all the time and another a very spacious around 500m downhill.

The castle is very impressive and worth to visit it at least outside. It's located at the top of the hill and can be viewed also from the riverside. If you go to water dam, it is a perfect view point for this castle and next castle Czorsztyn.
Parking near Castle entrance is paid and outside. Also ticket offices is near the Castle if you want to visit it inside with museum and tower viewpoints. The only disadvantage is that the castle is not illuminated by light in dark hours.

Castle itself is really beautiful. Parking is right in from of the castle entrance and it cost 20 PLN (we were allowed to pay with euro - 5€ .. actually we were able to pay in euros in the whole area, they are probably used to it, because the castle is near Poland-Slovakia border) The castle tour was without a guide - we were going by ourself, only with a paper with printed information. After the tour we visited a nearby dam. There was a beautiful sight not only on Niedzica, but also on Czorsztyn castle.

Beautiful place to visit, very picturesque. Castlecitself is relatively small but well maintained and tour guide is worth taking (free of charge) nearby you can take a boat around the Dunajec Lake or jus relax on nearby beach

Zamek Dunajec is located at the cost of the reservoir bank of the Dunajec River. Zamek is relatively not so big, so the museum is not boring. The very nice view from the point's view. Great place to take photos.

A historical castle that I would recommend to visit, located on the banks of the river, the ticket per person is 20 zlotys, and around it there are kiosks selling ice cream and tickets. The castle has beautiful views for photography lovers

Mesmerizing views,there is a boat ride for 50 minutes and possibility for other sport activities like river rafting

I have visited this castle a few times in the best. It is really wort to see.  Niedzica castle is a medieval stronghold from 14th century, situated in a very beautiful place - directly on the Czorsztyn Lake.

Really nice place to spend a couple.of hours..totally worthy.

Note: Most of the things you can buy with card, but there are some things you need some cash like small food shops or toilets.

Great Hungarian castle, sadly WW2 happened and the owners had to abandon it. Then came the great Red Army and plundered it, technically destroying it. It's a shame that nothing is written in Hungarian and only a few things are in English. In the 21st century why is it so hard to write basic information in English?

Great castle - lots of parts open for viewing with excellent views across the lake. History well told with English guide leaflet included in ticket price. Great value for money…. Will be back and definitely recommend!

Extremely beautiful castle from the 13th century that is placed on the top of the rock. Around of 1 hour to visit everything inside.

A beautiful dominant over the lake and the dam. The tour is not long, but it is interesting, with a beautiful view of the surroundings.

Charming castle with a great view. Loved the place, the interior and the museum. Has a panoramic terrace to watch over the lakes. Amazing for a day trip.

Great castle with interesting history. Worth visiting together with Czorsztyn (on the other bank of the lake) and Lubovna in Slovakia.
