My review is based on the Santa Ana Hike.

This is a must do experience if you're willing to take on the challenge of hiking 2.5 hours going up and 1.5 hours going down (with a tour guide). We arrived at the Parque National Cerro Verde at 9:30am, got a guide assigned and joined a large group for the tour, leaving at 10am. With the tour there are a few points of the tour where you stop as a group- once to hear the guide give you an introduction, rules, and what to expect, and a second major stop to formally enter the Santa Ana Volcano trail which costs foreigners $6 each and requires each individual to show their bags (large like up to pass this point on our tour). Considering these stops we arrived at the peak of the volcanoes at 12:45pm, stayed up for half hour until 1:15pm, and by 2:45pm we're back at the bottom of the trail.

The elevation of the trailhead entrance where your bags are checked has an elevation of around 1,700 meters above sea level, and the peak of the volcano is about 2,300 meters above sea level. The hike up is 4km, and coming down is another 4km.

Be prepared, bring proper shoes, bring water, and dress appropriately to conditions. If you are way out of shape or have disabilities I might not recommend the Santa Ana volcano hike for you, however, there are other activities and things for everyone to enjoy at this park.

Beautiful place to visit ! Just make sure you're in good health to go up and down the volcano. There's over 4,000 steps! I didn't make it to the top. But they have a nice view, shopping,a nice place to eat and wait if you're not going to hike the volcano.

Unique experience to climb a volcano and see it's crater. The hike is a challenge without a doubt but it's worth it once you make it to the top. It took us about 5 hours round-trip.

It has been restored to its original beauty.
It has a restaurant, beautiful ornamental gardens, playground.
It has guides to take you to that Santa Ana volcano crater too

Breath-taking view in person; unfortunately, the climate changed really quickly, so it was hard to take a good picture. If you want to hike Volcan Santa Ana, you have to arrive before 10:30 a.m.

You also need to pay for a guide to go up the volcano. I definitely recommend it if you come to El Salvador.

This is a nice park with clean washrooms and interesting hedges around the park. There are many shades areas with picnic tables or you can rent hammocks. This is where you meet up with the local guides to hike Santa Ana Volcano. $3/person for the guide. Fee at the gate of the trailhead for locals is $3 and $6 for foreigners. There are a lot of stairs at the beginning going down the mountain before arriving at the actual trailhead. First half of hike was partially shaded but definitely would recommend sun protection. There are multiple viewpoints along the way and the view up top was goegious with the turquoise lagoon. Bring plenty of water and cash to buy popsicles when you make it to the top.

We were here to hike Ilamatepec volcano. We had a private guide, Gaby, she was amazing, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. It was a little hard for us but we made it.
On the top the view was out of this world, the weather changed in a second from cool to a little cold but everything is worth the effort.
So recommend you were not disappointed.

Really awesome spot for a quick hike, Went on the "45 minute, volcano tour" and it was cool. More like 30 minutes of jungle ups and downs with a couple breaks in the trees with overlooks that you could see old volcanoes from, but overall very cool, well worth the trip to get up there. Not super hot in August, it was kinda hazy though. Must see if you're traveling anywhere outside San Salvador.

You cant skip this place if you are in Salvador. Very nice walk trough the forest with a guide and a policeman. Tours are everyday starting at 10:40. You pay 6 dollars entrance fee to national parkand one dollar for the guide. If you go to the parking which is higher you have to pay also some dollars for parking, its per person, so for foreigner is 3 dollars. On the top of volcano views are amazing, hard to describe, you have to see it!

Beautiful park, with the highest volcano of El Salvador. The view is great and the weather can be a little bit cold there for El Salvador standards. The effort to get to the top of the Ilamatepec volcano is really worth it and not that difficult if you have good conditions. The last part, almost to the top, has a lot of rocks so you need to be careful there. If you have knee problems or so, it can be difficult for some parts.

There are daily guided expeditions that start around 9 am. The cost is $3 per person for nationals and $6 for foreign nationals.

The best hike ever. It takes 4 hours but it worth if any minute. I recommend to stay at hotel inside the park and at the end of the day to see sunset.
