Amber Sands

This place is wonderful. First of all, the staff is so friendly and helpful. It made our stay extra special. The resort has all the facilities you need; a pool, kayaks, restaurant, live music, we loved it. The garden is also worth mentioning, it’s maintained on a daily basis and it looks stunning. The resort is small-scale which was a big plus for us, it’s all nice and quiet. A big recommendation for people who just want to enjoy the quieter side of Koh Chang!

It was amazing, has the Seaview rooms and the view was great. Find we're always super cham, device es amazing and the good is great too. Definitely coming back when I'm in Thailand again 😊

The best place to stay in Kho Chang by far. Ning, Geetar, Simon and Sadie create a wonderful experience and warm stay that remains unparalleled- the level of detail and quality is unmatched.

A place with a very beautiful surrounding atmosphere, delicious food, and impressive service staff. And most importantly, there is a great live band performance.

A lovely family run little resort. If you’re looking for something authentic, quiet and with great energy you should stay here. They have only 8 bungalows that are pretty private. All rooms are surrounded by a beautiful garden, there is a small/ but big enough pool and because there aren’t that many people that stay at 1 time you feel like the pool is yours. They have a cool restaurant with pretty decent food, the chicken and cashew nut dish is very good! All of the staff are lovely and because they are a family you get a homely feel.

When we first came to Koh Chang we stayed at a big resort (emerald cove) and then we came here and I can definitely say Amber Sands had something else. They sorted a bike hire for us and even dropped of us off to the port.

Arriving at Ko Chang was most lovely because of the warm welcome of Simon (owner of the beautiful Amber Sands). We didn’t book at this place (yet!) but he still gave us a ride to our scooter-rental, how nice?!
While we were very intrigued by Simon, we booked one of the lovely rooms. A good bed, the best view (from the bed), the sounds of the jungle and the sea air made this place true heaven. The people who work there are so kind, you feel like you’re home (but then better). Recommend 10/10! And don’t forget to view the east side of the island, it’s a ride you will never forget.

We've booked only couple of days with Simon, but extended our stay to over a week!
The place is absolutely stunning and you feel right at home.

We've have done a week off remote work from basically everywhere there's a seat in the gorgeous garden, beach, restaurant, bungalow and room. Can highly recommend!

Also, working from the restaurant gives you the benift of eating the best Pad Thai I had so far (and I already had many Pad Thai's)!

It is a great accommodation in the quiet part of Koh Chang. Close to the pier (4.5km) you will find Amber Sands. This accommodation is run by Simon and his Thai wife. The accommodation has only a few rooms so it feels like you are staying with family.

Simon and his team are very friendly, attentive and helpful. The rooms are excellently cleaned and room number 2 has a beachfront balcony, great room!

On top of that, this accommodation is pet friendly. Simon himself has two dogs but they are very sweet with other guests and dogs.

The beach is beautiful and great for canoeing.

The restaurant is just top notch. Simon's wife can prepare delicious dishes where the Spring Rolls, Tom Yam and Tom ka Kai taste insanely good.

If you are looking for tranquility and great accommodation this is the place to be!

Back after years and its still excellent!! Simon runs a relaxed nice family resort. Beautiful, quiet and perfect for families as well (get the family room). A bit shout out to the fantastic restaurant!! By far the best Tom ka gai in Thailand (and we’ve tried many).

It's right there on the beach and we are back for the fifth time and it is just the right place for us on Koh Chang. Always a pleasure to visit this little paradise run by Ning and Simon together with their family and staff. We always feel welcome, enjoy the delicious food and relaxing surroundings. If you need advice, rental a scooter or car, dont hesitate to ask Simon. I'm sure we will be back a sixth time.

This is the best place we have stayed in SE Asia. Everything here is perfect. The management is amazing, answers all requests quickly and goes above and beyond to help. The beach is clean, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms large and comfortable, the restaurant has the most delicious Thai and western food. Family friendly, lovely pool. We would come back any chance we get. The beach sand is Amber as the name suggests but absolutely stunning. We used the free kayaks to go snorkel at the reef a few metres off the beach. For the white sands we rented a car from the hotel and they recommend us some places to go and we saw some beautiful beaches. They arranged our transfers from Bangkok all the way to the hotel and it was very easy.

Lovely family run resort. Simon and Ning looked after us so well. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Enjoyed staying here and exploring the Eastern side of the island on Mopeds which Simon arranged for us. Great for paddle boarding and canoe too. Great place for a restful break.

Little gem in the quiet side of Koh Chang. The hotel is by the beach where the sea is very calm. Wonderful garden and very comfortable wooden room with classic thai style decoration. Perfect place to relax!

My partner and I stayed at Amber Sands for a week in April and we couldn’t recommend it enough. Simon and Ning were brilliant hosts - everything exceeded our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was outstanding, the beds are huge and so comfortable! Amber Sands is a beautiful resort for relaxation and we cannot wait to return in the near future. Thank you Simon and Ning!

Complete paradise! Lovely owners and staff, great views, and beautiful surroundings. They took care of all of my family's needs with a smile and were so helpful in planning trips and activities. On top of it all, the food in the restaurant is fantastic. Get away from it all (especially the crowds) at Amber Sands. Can't recommend it more highly!

This is my second time visiting Amber sand after last year. I wanted to stay there again but they're fully booked so I just come for lunch. Service is still excellent. Cozy and quiet beach even other beach has a rough ocean. Owner is always nice and so kind. Food has been cooked in quality way. I really recommend this place ...

Amber Sands is without any doubts amazing place with the most helpfull owners and staff. Located on East side of Koh Chang means that there are hardly any people around which is great if you are not party type:-)...than go rather on opposite side. Accommodation is perfect, clean, big enough with everything you need, pool is great with enough sea beds, restaurant is excellent - there are three restaurants on this beach but Amber Sands restaurant is the best one. Beach is nice altough not the white sand Maldives beach...rather gold sand with stones in water. Massages right on the beach are easy to recommend as they are as well very good for 400-450. The only negatives we found were some small problems with transport on East side of Island as most of the Songthaews are going only on west part and annoying early morning noise from centerpoint ferry and local fishing boats. As well bit pricey. Otherwise everything was 5star.

The place is quiet, suitable for relaxation. The owner is friendly, delicious food, good atmosphere, nature.🌊 We really like it here. thank you for the welcome🐱❤

What a place for relaxation! This is a perfect getaway from the busy lifestyle. They made the right decision to leave out the tv sets. The only motor sound we heard over the days we stayed was a small fishing boat from a distant. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation on the island, this is it!

Same tranquillity as the last 15 years but the quality seems from the first moments. Really clean from the road to the beach. Excellent service, perfect coffee, cold beers and food, superb views etc... I would say that this is a jewel of not just eastern coast but the whole Koh Chang. This is kind of a Zen place you should visit!
