Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway

Me and my wife love this hotel so much. Stayed here at the deluxe sea view room for 2 night’s definitely worth it.

Pros
1) room and bathroom is big & clean. 👍👍👍(Jacuzzi inside the bathroom)
2) bed is so comfortable 👍👍👍
3) quiet
4) service staff is good 👍
5) breakfast large variety 👍👍👍
6) love their high quality shampoo and liquid soap, smells so good)👍👍👍
7) there are Starbucks bar at the beach area but limited selection of drinks.👍

Cons: only dislike is bedside plug only on 1 side. (Hopefully they will improve on this)

Overall I would come back and stay and recommend everyone to come and try it out.

This is a great resort. Good service, clean and comfortable. There is a big pool we can enjoy with a sea view. The staff is friendly. It has a great view and design. In the morning we can enjoy breakfast with a fresh view.

The property was in a great location for a relaxing quiet holiday for the family The villa we had was perfect, and great value for what it was The private beach and beach bar set up was paradise to relax Staff were great and very efficient at the bar set up Loved the bean bags. Very friendly and welcoming

Everything but the check in was perfect The staff need much better training at reception. Answering back as the villa was not ready 45 mins after check in. More focused on being right than apologizing and resolving the issue. I didn’t see a western manager on site, but my advice would be to train the reception staff better to be professional.

We stayed here for the new years weekend and we absolutely loved it. We booked the pool villa rooms and we loved it and was pleasantly surprised by the jacuzzi. I would like to especially commend the staff. All the staff were extremely nice to my 4 year old. They took the time out to say hello to him and even play with him. We had a NYE dinner on the beach which I enjoyed, loads of types of food. Once again the staff were extremely nice, one of them his name was Mint was super nice to my son. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Only issue I would have is the location, it's far from the busier places and restaurants etc. We had a car though so we managed to get around. If we are ever in Koh Chang again we will definitely stay there.

Brilliant five day stay at this hotel. Upgraded our room on arrival which was well worth a small extra cost. I would advise against booking their most basic room offering. The superior was fantastic.

Particular thanks to the security guard who always had a smile on his face and was really helpful.

If you have to work with concentration, this hotel will definitely give you the feeling of calm and relaxation, same as i have got. A private beach with nice coffee in the day and you can chill in the evening with a breeze. Food is nice and drinks are great. Staff is very helpful.

We stayed 6 nights. We have upgraded our room to direct pool access room and it was an excellent decision. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We were explained all about the hotel and facility.
Also F&B staff was very responsive, friendly with prompt service.

Love the location, staff and food. We'll be back for a 5th time.
Mostly new families which we love because surprisingly it's rare to hear children cry, or make a disturbance. It's excellent because we get peace and quiet without the party / drinking crowd. Also fun to watch the young ones experience the ocean and pool. Love the quiet atmosphere.

We had a great time at Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway. The on-site pop-up Starbucks cafe and the all-day happy hours (both cocktails and fresh coconuts!) at the beach bar are such fun surprise. Excellent service from K'Dear and her team at the front desk. Thank you so much! ❤

We stay 5 nights at the hotel and it was perfect !
We enjoy the huge bedroom with balcony, the cocktails at the beach bar during the sunset, the canoe just in front the hotel, the breakfast and the calm to rest.

We recommend to rent a scooter to visit the island (waterfall, bang Bao, etc.)

Fantastic Property located on the Southwest side of the Koh, about 10 mins by car to Bang Bao Pier. . which is a nice few hrs spent walking around the shops. The Pier also launching point for day excursions on the Gulf.

Spent 4 fantastic nights in a Deluxe King Ocean View with breakfast which was fantastic. Had buffet on last am as a large Group arrived. Prior to that the 1st 3 mornings were so quiet that offering a buffet was clearly not feasible so off a preset menu they had 4 choices. But really didn't matter as they would cook up pretty much anything within reason & or substitute upon request AND all you can eat/drink. Was very satisfied with the breakfast offerings.

The location is absolutely perfect for those seeking solitude surrounded by most beautiful & impressive Koh Chang Nature.

Yes, there are a few what I call minor blemishes that are from the dreaded period We ALL want to forget & pray never happens again. Mercure is clearly working hard on this Property restoring it back to former glory (from reading a previous Review). Landscape crews and other maintenance staff seen working hard daily on various projects in need of the TLC being given.

Every interaction was top notch with Staff who gave the impression of wanting to exceed expectations. I never got the feeling Anyone was ever being disengenious or simply going through the motions of the job. Management appears to be doing a good job keeping the Staff motivated while offering service interactions that can certainly be viewed as sincere.

Had a problem with the tv in early evening... around 7-8p....no picture but sound > within 10 mins a tech arrived (given advance notice as well he'd be by in 3 mins) to diagnose making sure not another clueless Farang issue 🤪... which thankfully it wasn't > or if it was they did a good job of hiding that > 5 mins of diagnosing & he removes the set & within 10 mins returns with a new/different set > problem resolved in under 1 hr... closer to 45 mins tbh.

Also must give props to Jak who went above & beyond wanting to make sure my time there was enjoyable. Showing sincere interest in wanting to engage with quality conversation. I wish I knew Thai as well as He knows English > & Jak definitely not the only Employee who tries to engage... it's clear the Staff looks to always be improving upon Their language skills...that in & of itself is a Property attribute that's always most appreciated.

For around 2,600 baht/nt with a fantastic breakfast & a room with a large balcony that has a hanging swivel chair swing, it's a no brainer.

Very well done Mercure on Koh Chang > The Hideaway most certainly a Gem in the Accor/Mecure Portfolio.

Disclosure > my background/career experience is in Hospitality Management. I have a good idea as to how such Operations should be managed. If there was any glaring problem(s) I would mention as constructive criticism....but there really isn't much of anything to report as far as that goes > if I wanted to nit-pik I'd say it was unfortunate they weren't allowing Guests to use the pool table.... evidently some of that needed maintenance/restoration going on above the table on the roof or something like that to where they didn't want people in the well appointed adult game room (not the Kid room which they also have) w/foosball table & poker/card table.

The complaints I've seen are mostly from when the property was just coming out of lockdown....over 1 yr ago & for a few mos thereafter > from what I saw, Accor/Mercure has done a commendable job of getting the location restored to a very presentable & thus acceptable offering...a fantastic value at 2,600/nt

Will definitely be back.... looking forward 👍

P.S. the stone/rock wall that jets out from private beach into the Sea which is designed for walking out on is a unique design and fun thing to do... especially during Magic Sunset hour🌄 > don't forget decent water/beach shoes....flip flops only for the thrill seekers who think they're gonna live forever 🤪

It's a wonderful hotel with a calm, welcoming ambiance that is close to the sea and ideal for recharging the body's batteries. The vista is too exquisite to adequately express in words. The room is appropriate for the cost.

My husband and I went to Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway on our honeymoon and it was a really good stay we had.

We were there for 7 nights at a pool villa witch was really nice.

The receptionist were very nice and helpful as well as the staff at the restaurant and beach bar, even though they were short on staff.

The hotel it self is a bit rundown but if you can look past the small things you are going to have an amazing holiday at this hotel.

3 days 2 nights at Mercure hideaway Koh chang I had good 2 nights I was check in by Mr.Mew he was helpful and kind. Rooms was good service by reception and Housekeeping team. Every morning she greeted us very kindly I wish I had remembered her name. But however the service by Breakfast team they need to improve I had given my review in TripAdvisor as well and see the reason what happened with us when we went to have a breakfast. Overal all everything good except Breakfast. I hope they improve their service for the breakfast.Good place to relax. Far away from ferry but it’s worth it

A mesmerizing place we've ever visited. Price is worthy, view is priceless and the vibe is awesome. Also located in the serene and spacious compound on bailen beach (personally, I prefer bailen beach more than others because of its quietness and peacefulness).

Everyone would have a relaxing and amazing experience there with the value for money. We stayed there for 3 days, and looking forward to have the longer stay during our next trip.

Just had a fantastic 6 nights there. Beach is fabulous, calm warm water. 2 good pools ,views are to die for.

We had an excellent stay here, friendly service from all the staff. We stayed in the deluxe ocean view room, which was great, comfortable bed (I don’t know what other people are talking about with the hard bed, ours was just right). We had a great view. Breakfast in the morning was a good mix of Asian and western food with freshly cooked omelette, eggs etc, with fresh fruit they grow in their own garden. There is a bar and a small restaurant on the beach right next door or some other restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The pool is good, very well maintained grounds and the gym is better than most with two running machines and weights. The WiFi is the best I have ever had in any hotel in Thailand. Overall excellent and I would definitely stay here again!

We got the room with a private pool (again), which is great. But actually the whole hotel area is very calm and quiet and secluded so for us it's a great resort. I made my first review 3 years ago and made a small remark about cleaning, and this time everything is just great so I am updating my review. I believe this is our favourite hotel in the world, and the only continent we didn’t visit yet is antarctica. It may not be extreme luxury but it is definitely extreme value for money.

The hotel is located on a more peaceful part of the island, which is good if you like to be surrounded by nature. There are two pools and a private beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for guests free of charge. There is also fitness and spa centre.
Hotel has two bars and a restaurant. You should definitely take the breakfast as it offers wide options for westeren and thai/asian style breakfast, including egg station, freshly squeezed juices and espresso.
The personnel was extremely friendly and they helped us with everything we needed. We were able to check-in early.
Good price/performance ration for standard room, although the window might be frosted.
Scooter is the best option to move around the island. They rent it at the hotel for 200 THB, but they demand your passport. On the street you can get it just with ID.
They charge 3000 THB deposit at check-in.

We would definitely come back to this hotel if we visit Koh Chang again.
