Jafferji Beach Retreat hotel is an amazing place for you and your family and/or partner to relax and enjoy.
The location is unbelievable, right next to a beautiful sandy beach.
The activities offered are snorkeling and diving, but you can also organise one-day trips to other parts of the island, as well.
In the hotel itself you can enjoy incredibly good and fresh food. The pool is quite nice, not very big but not too small, either.
There's a small spa where the kind beautician/masseuse will offer a whole variety of treatments.
Maurizio the manager and all his staff are very nice and super available. Mr Munisi, Witness, Tumaini, Margareth and all the others will always be there to help with a big smile. They will make sure you feel at home!

I honestly couldn't recommend the hotel enough, it is a 4+ stars hotel experience at the price of a 3 stars.

Amazing value for the money.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were astounded by the location, view of nemba island, infinity pool, well kept gardens and spectacular luxurious villas. The restaurant and lounge under an enormous thatched roof was a treet. Small menu but food was served promptly an delicious. The manager Morris gave a nice personal touch to the place. We wil be back. Thanks Jafferji.

Spend 2 nights at this incredible facility with a family of 12 including children. The view from the rooms is incredible, the beach is clean and accessible and the staff were very courteous.

Also had the opportunity to chat with the General Manager Maurizio who shared his vision on uplifting the property in the near future. Exciting to go back and see the enhancements.

Highly recommend this place

Amazing hotel. The staff couldn’t be nicer! The room is huge and filled with the owner’s professional photography. We had a wonderful time here... much better than Nungwi. It’s more laid back and less people hustling you.

That said, if you plan to drive by yourself note that there aren’t really any roads... just paths through sand, dirt, and rocks. Driving isn’t that scary once you realize most of the island is like this... but just a warning since we weren’t expecting such bad roads.

A fantastic hotel in a lovely spot, would definitely recommend. The best thing about our stay was the care and attention from the staff, under the guidance of one of the managers, Munisi. They went above and beyond to make our stay special and the attention to detail is unrivalled. From things like clearing away the seaweed from the beach every morning, to offering us discount on a cookery course because "it's very good and we wouldn't want you to miss out", or even just bringing me my favourite beer and some cashew nuts while I watch the football. Top class, all the way 👌

I fully enjoyed my stay at Jafferji Beach Retreat. I stayed August 20 to 24. The location is about an hour and 20 minutes from the airport. The road was fine most of the way and only rough close to the hotel which didn't seem uncommon compared to other hotels I visited nearby. At the gate there is security and although I arrived late evening, I was greeted by a waiting staff who quickly took my bags and let me sit to have a bite to eat. The menu is small but flavorful and they have specials daily. I honestly thought there was enough variety.

First impressions were that even though it was dark, I could tell the grounds were beautiful. Straight in front of the hotel lobby/outdoor restaurant was a landscaped walkway, a blueish purple lit pool and then the beach and ocean beyond that. The pool is perfect size for a small boutique hotel. For wading, dipping feet or sipping drinks while enjoying the view. That night the moon was to the front left of the hotel and reflected beautifully across the water.

The room I stayed in was he Sultan Suite. It was beautifully decorated and had a lot of character. The bed sheets were cozy and the mattress was a bit firm for me but I honestly slept well every night. The room is reached by walking up some steps and there is an entrance with a huge patio. There is an outdoor bed, outdoor seating for dining and outdoor sun loungers next to a big aqua colored outdoor tub.

I never used the tub, but I did use it for a fun photo opp. I laid outside on the loungers and even on the outdoor bed during a beautiful storm followed by bright sun. I ordered a bottle of Rosé and enjoyed the scenery all day. The view is stunning and so is the sunrise if you are up early enough.

They also have a beach bar closer to the beach and away from the pool. No one seemed to want to go down there but I enjoyed drinks there daily and even brought my speaker to play my music. The resort is quiet but this bar area is a bit away so my music didn't distrurb anyone's peace.

The hotel is close to a village so the beach does get a little busy with locals by afternoon. I saw hotel guest talking with people and even playing ball with them. Everyone was at peace and having fun. I loved the vibe. I chatted with people on the beach too. The beach is swimmable maybe early in the day and there is snorkeling if you take a 7 minute boat ride closer to an island beyond the reef that you can see from the hotel. If you want to explore the ocean in low tide, you can take a hike with a guide from the hotel. Its best to bring water shoes. It was a fun experience and my guide was knowledgeable.

If you want to party, there a hotels nearby and Nungwi is not far. I did a day tour also to Stonetown and it was an hour away. Also, the Rock restaurant is not too far from here either. I had a very well balanced trip. My only problem during the stay was a water issue the first night which they warned me about. It took longer than expected to fix but management did show concern. I was not upset but definitely frustrated. When you want a shower from traveling it's easy to be agitated. Either way my shower was hot the rest of the trip and my room was taken care of and tuned down daily. The soap also smells great! I would stay here again.

It's a 4 star hotel, and the staff was very great, but it's in the middle of nowhere, Google doesn't find it, and even though I was in a lot of hotels on Sansibar, this was the hardest to find. Once you solved it, you are in a typical 4* hotel - and you'll miss this beautiful island. That's a pity. On the beach left of the hotel is a very good restaurant directly on the sea, and they have great octopus salad and seafood, and prices are half of that in the hotel. The room itself was huge, with the best bed I had on sansibar. It's very close to Mnemba island, there's a great coral reef to dive.

The best resort I have ever experienced by far. I am truly blown away by the service provided by Mr.Munisi (manager), Staff - MJ, Witness & house keeping team Happy. They were ever so accommodating for our every need. We were on our honeymoon and we also happened to have our wedding ceremony in this truly amazing resort. They helped us all throughout, their smiles and warmth is one thing il always carry in my heart. The resort had Beautiful rooms with elegant antique furniture, and exceptional beach view, but the staff, Mr. MUNISI and team were class apart.
