Wonderful hotel. Rooms were large and clean with their own balconies.

Restaurant had delicious food. Pool was nice. Had nice amenities like volleyball and badminton and yoga room.

Right on public beach and next to a scuba diving shop.

Service was exceptional. Very easy to book additional trips with and very accommodating

We had a fantastic time at the resort. It was the perfect quiet beach vacation we were looking for. The food at the restaurant was amazing and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We felt very spoiled during our stay and very well taken care of!!

We had an incredible stay at Zanzibar Queen Hotel during summer. It has a pristine beach right by its doorstep and is located in a very calm area. The staff is overwhelmingly friendly and the menus served for dinner were absolutely delicious. Things to be aware off though, are the plenty sea urchins along this coast line of Zanzibar and you will regularly be approached by locals trying to sell something.

Hard to fault Zanzibar queen hotel. Highly catered and polished. Location in front of the beach with snorkel and scuba diving company right next doors.
Absolutely loved staying here

Great place!
Luxurious without being pretentious.
Spacious rooms with simple, beautiful high quality furniture in the rooms and around the pool - beach chairs, hammocks, beach beds and swings.

Gym, yoga, beach games, table tennis, children's area as well as many, many other activities off site - you can choose from their book.

All the food we were served was delicious and presented exquisitely!

Loved the attention to detail, consideration, awareness and efforts to be environmentally friendly.

We were in the Hotel for two weeks in October 2023.
We had a fantastic vacation there. The rooms are great, there is no TV in the rooms and we never missed that - it makes the stay even more relaxed. The gardens and pool are wonderful and the beach marvellous. The hotel is small with just about 30 rooms. It is quiet and relaxed without the often rather annoying and loud animation porogams we experienced in other hotels. There are special events especially in the evening like poolside BBQ, life music and artistic shows. The hotel has more stretchers in the pool and beach area than there are guests so you will always find a nice place.
The beach is beautiful, you just have to live with the tides. At high tide swimming is well possibe. At low tide you can walk over the reef. There are locals trying to sell something to you as soon as you leave the direct hotel area. We never had problems with them though, you just have to be clear that you don´t want to buy anything.
The food is outstandingand variable. Among the 4 starzers, 4 main dishes and 2 deserts we always found something we just loved. The staff is always smiling and exceptionally friendly helpful.
If you are looking for a quiet and relaxed vacation without great animation and parties, this is the perfect place for you. We already plan to come back.
If you plan trips we can recommend Hussein. You usually find him at the beach. His prices are good, he is 100% reliable and everything is perfectly organized, We booked 4 trips with him and all were perfect.

We are travelling a lot and I cant understand any of low ratings for this hotel. In my eyes, people complaining about the food or the location wone´s be content anywhere.

A high class hotel for people looking to relax and unwind after a safari and stone town exploration.

There is clearly a lot of effort gone into the hotel as there are plenty of things to do. "Lawn" games which can be played in the sandy part of the garden, such as volleyball; boules/petanque; basketball; slack line; badminton; table tennis; and a space for kids under 12 which had a climbing frame and a trampoline.

There is a daily yoga class (except on wed and sun)

The main pool is great! It's all in the sun basically all day so it gets to a perfect temperature to spend all day in. And you will be doing a lot of that as the sea is heavily influenced by the tide. Also sea urchins cover the floor so your really can't swim there. We did a guided walk out to the sand bank/reef which took a while but once you got into the groove of it was super fun. The hotel also provides beach/water shoes to protect yourself from getting stung... highly recommended if you're feeling brave. The sand bank is very wide so you can easily enjoy that without going near the water.

There is plenty of secluded spaces and lots of tanning beds in the hotel garden and swinging beds both in the shade and the sun. Honestly a great place to relax.

They offered plenty of excursions and activities at extra cost.

We had an issue with some bugs in one of our 3 rooms but the hotel manager went above and beyond and upgraded us to one of the private villas for the remainder of our stay.

This was definitely a great thing as we had a private space where we can enjoy the sun in peace. The private pool was deep so you could stand in it if you want, but also had seats around the side. The hammock was large enough to easily fit two and the private garden space with shaded loungers was great to relax in peace.

Great stay!
I stayed here with a small group of friends for 7 nights, 2-9 of September with HalfBoard.
All of us loved the food, the staff, the territory of the hotel, the rooms (they are not luxury and also not really 4* but they are warm and traditional), and the pool. The prices of the food and drinks are really ok (3,5 USD for a beer, 16 USD for a seafood main course, 23 USD for a bottle of Sparkling Wine, etc)
The Swahili and Barbecue dinners are great! Also the private Romantic dinner that can be booked extra is great and affordable/cheap. The hotel is recommended for people that prefer good food, quite and romantic atmosphere.
The hotel is a boutique hotel with about 30 rooms, all of them on the ocean side but none of them with real/full ocean view.
The ocean tides are not the most visible but also they will affect your stay if you want to stay all day long in the ocean.
Some improvements that can be done:
- the gym is small and with some unfunctional items.
- in the mornings on the beach are quite many Masai people that want to sell you traditional souvenirs.
- the auto acces from the main road to the entrance of the hotel is in very bad condition
- the SPA is mostly a massage bungalow/place.
Overall, I really recommend the place!

This hotel was just paradise! We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids ages 13 and 10) and we had a gorgeous, spacious room. Bathroom, then the kids each had a twin bed in “their room” with a balcony looking out toward the beach and the adults had an attached but private room with a king bed and an equally stunning view. All the beds were fitted with mosquito netting and there was plenty of bottled water for brushing teeth and drinking. Rooms had air conditioning. The grounds were beautiful - so many tropical plants, a volleyball and basketball area, a beautiful pool and easy beach access. The restaurant had an amazing breakfast (the fried bananas were delicious!), lunch specials as well as a regular menu and dinner changed daily. We loved our stay here and how relaxing it was having access to the pool and beach within a few steps. We even ate lunch in the shade by the pool. The hotel is about an hour and 15 minutes from the airport. Just paradise!!

One of the best hotels we have stayed at since traveling. If you want to stay at an excellent hotel with good food and an extremely quiet area then this is the hotel you need.

The hotel offers a lot of outdoor activities, in the inner courtyard, you can play volleyball, do yoga, enjoy a massage, spa or just enjoy the gorgeous pool. For me, the pool was more than perfect because I am passionate about swimming, and its length is perfect to maintain physical condition when you go on vacation, and the depth is perfect.

The food at breakfast, but also at the restaurant in the hotel, is extraordinary. The menu changes daily, so you can't get bored of what you find here, and something I found interesting is the fact that you have the option to prepare something to your taste in case the menu does not correspond to your dietary plan or if you have other preferences.

The beach is also gorgeous, with sand so fine you fall in love. The hotel has some beds on the beach, but also by the pool, which are very comfortable. The hotel staff was extremely nice to us and very willing to help us with any problem or question we had.

The rooms are also very clean, it is cleaned twice a day, and the bathroom contains more than everything you need for a relaxing vacation where you can forget about everyday worries. The rooms are also equipped with a hair dryer in case you need it.

Being on vacation for my birthday here at the hotel, I was extremely surprised to receive a cake from the hotel staff and to sing happy birthday to me.

An extraordinary first contact with Zanzibar, we definitely want to come back because it is worth all the money.

We had an excellent stay at the Zanzibar Queen as part of our honeymoon. The entire resort is beautiful and thoughtfully curated. It is right on the beach and has a wonderful large swimming pool as well. The resort offers so much including yoga, games, volley ball/bocce ball etc, scuba, live entertainment, spa services, etc. We always had something to do! The hotel even offers water shoes to borrow to use to go out into the ocean (definitely wear shoes in the ocean as many spiky sea urchins). We were very close by to our morning snorkeling trip to Mnemba Island. Our room was gigantic and very clean with a comfortable bed and ocean view. The restaurant’s food was delicious with so much variety (best tuna poke poke bowl ever). The live entertainment at night was fun. The staff was all very kind, welcoming and helpful. Would highly highly recommend staying here!

Everything was amazing ! The room, the location, the food and the animation offered by the hotel was on point.

We just had an argue with George and Maryam when we had to leave the hotel, there were super arrogante and rude when we encounter an issue, but thanks to Regina (really helpful and give us tips for the rest of our trip) came everything was easier and they stop being rude and arrogante.

Apart from that everything is perfect

Zanzibar Queen hotel was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The hotel itself is great; it includes a lot of lounge chairs both near the pool and on the beach located in places to make you comfortable in a private setting amongst the public beaches and other hotel guests. The food was fantastic. The amenities were great, including the unlimited clean drinking water available in dispensers around the hotel.

What set this hotel apart from the rest is the extremely helpful customer service staff. They made everything so incredibly easy, from check in to check out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone

I've travelled just about all over the world and this hotel was hands down my absolute FAVORITE! We stayed here on our honeymoon and couldn't be more excited that we chose Zanzibar Queen. The location is peaceful and romantic, the rooms were clean and charming, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the food...just WOW. We were blown away and weeks later still talk about how much we enjoyed our entire stay. Could not recommend this spot more!

Definitely recommend this amazing hotel. Large & clean rooms with a good bed. Beautiful garden with a huge pool and a lot of places to just chill. The ocean is not really suited to swim because of the sea urchins, but the view is amazing. We took breakfast and dinner. The food is delicious and always fresh. Really nice people too.

the hotel is very clean and the food is just delicious. The chef did amazing!
Kasha, Dominique and Derek from the hotel management were very kind and welcoming. they came specifically to talk to us to make sure everything we needed were met.
they were very flexible with us and offered us free tours for the three days when the pool was not functioning.
The beach in front of the hotel is public, however, there are guards from the hotel to make sure everything is fine.
the hotel cleans the room twice daily and I can’t stress how yummy the food was to the tummy.

Great amazing place. The people there make you directly feel home. They are such great people. They are nice and friendly. They want you to have the perfect vacations.

The Beach is directly to the Hotel and the Sand is like powder, white powder.
It is quiet even if families are really welcomed.
