Best donuts in Madison. It's fresh, flavorful and the pasty has just the right density. Not oily at all. You do need to arrive early, they sell out fast.

I ordered a full sheet cake for my twin granddaughters birthday party with 2 different character themes. It was perfectly decorated and the best tasting cake I've ever had. Everyone loved it. It was perfect. Ill buying all my cakes from here from now on. I definitely recommend Horst's Bakery. Absolutely the best cake ever!

My wife and I visit a place in the same plaza as Horst's, and the first time we came, the first thing that caught our eyes was the awesome donut sign!
Unfortunately it was later in the day, so it was closed. But on another visit, we were there earlier and got to experience a Horst's donut. WOW!! No wonder the place is so popular!

Now, when we're here early enough to catch them while they're open, I pop in for a guilty indulgence! The Maple Bacon donut is my fave - I love how they use crumbles instead of just a strip. Though the round donut is so thick, it's still a mess when eating!! 🤪 Solved with a few additional napkins!

If you're in the area, definitely visit!

If you visit Madison, you haven’t visited Madison without trying Horst’s. I’m a Madison native that now lives in Tn, but every time my family comes to see my wife and I we hope they bring us the chocolate chip covered donut.

We’ve tried many donuts in our new hometown of Knoxville, Tn; but there is nothing that comes close to this home made donut from our favorite donut place.

One of the greatest acts of love someone can do is to bring them a Horst Donut. See picture below.

Absolutely the greatest place I could ever get breakfast done from they have amazing quality and great prizes they open up early and have a very positive attitude on everyone that works there they have good discounts and I'm just baffled at how they get so many donuts in the morning out so early it's outstanding

Always take horsts donuts tou our local fair on parade morning. They love them. So much better than the grocery store variety.

I grew up in Madison, but I’ve been living on the other side of the US for 4 years now. To this day, Horst’s Original Chocolate Chip doughnut graces my dreams. I have never found anything else like it anywhere in my life. God glass Horst’s.

Best place in Madison for donuts. Large selection and if they don’t have something ask, they are very likely to make it right on the spot. Case in point — I asked for caramel Long John’s, she said “cream filled or custard”, and made them for me in 2 minutes — no extra charge.

Very friendly staff. Always a good experience. We take the girls every Friday morning to get thier doughnuts. They love it. Great pricing as well.

We came later in the day so there were fewer options, but all of our donuts were so good! It even seems like they found a way to get more cream in their fill Long John's! The decor was cute and the staff was friendly, and we couldn't believe how little our total order cost. Thanks for a great visit!

Side note, they do close at 11 am, so don't miss your chance!

Grew up on this place, and moved to NYC after college. Let me say, I've had a sweet tooth my whole life and NYC has some of the best selections in the world, however, I still haven't had a donut that comes to close to being as good as Horst's.

It's quite crazy to me Horst's hasn't gotten some sort of national recognition yet. Even spending a little time in LA and trying their famous places didn't compare.

Anyways, daydreaming about some of these today on the east coast.

Arrived at closing. Got some donuts. Still pretty fresh tasting. They were good. If I ever make it back to Madison I will try to get there earlier for more selection.

Best place to get donuts hands down! Always fresh with a delicious assortment of flavors and types. Can't go wrong with a classic Horst's Donut!

I wish they were closer to Milton I'd eat there every morning. Their store always smells so good and there donut holes taste great.

I have plenty of experience with Horst bakery... they make the best doughnuts I have ever ate!!! I have tried a lot of different bakeries in Louisville, Jeffersonville, Clarksville, & anywhere that has a bakery and NO PLACE at all compares to Horst’s Bakery!!! Glazed is my favorite but after tasting Horst no other bakery taste as good!!!

Amazing family owned business!! The doughnuts are delicious, and the fact that they sell out is proof of that!! Been eating these doughnuts for as long as I can remember. Definitely recommend!!!!

Was a favorite as a kid and just as amazing now. It's a bit of a drive now, but every once in a while I just have to have some of Mr. Horst's sweets. Holidays aren't the same without his cookies, and his cakes make any celebration special.
