Best Mexican food in Bismarck/Mandan area by a long shot - If you are looking for an authentic Mexican food experience this restaurant is a MUST!!

My wife and I lived in Mexico and California for a few years and became spoiled by the authentic Mexican food experience in those locations.

We have now been in ND a few months and after going to a few local chain restaurants in Bismarck/Mandan area (and being thoroughly disappointed) we decided to search for a more authentic (and affordable) place to get the food that we were used to getting in Mexico.

I must say that we were very impressed with the food and hospitality both. Bismarck/Mandan is very fortunate to have a taste of Mexico right in there own backyard. We will be customers for life!!

Best Mexican restaurant in Bisman area and it's not close. The chilli relleno is superb. The carne asada fries are great. The tamales and enchiladas are awesome. Place is great.

Best Mexican food in the area!! My numero uno place to go!! Food is always the best! mucho bueno ! Always Fresh and so delicious. Staff is very freindly! Love this place so much!! Ive eaten here 20 times or more and its always been so good!! My fist choice when im hungry and want some good food!! Dont listen to the negative karens that just complain to complain about anything they can. Its not expensive at all when you realize good food made with fresh ingredients isn't going to be cheap. Dont complain if you can't afford excellent authentic food. 5/5!!

Great homemade corn tortillas. The chips were fresh fried and not out of a bag. The food is authentic, the restaurant is very clean, and the staff was helpful answering my questions.

I recommend stopping in and giving Taqueria El Guerra a try.

Great Mexican food! Not greasy. Taste like authentic Mexican food. Clean place and friendly staff. My husband and I will be back.

Not sure my review is the best view point, this was my first visit. I found the restaurant clean including the restrooms. Staff was very polite and enjoyable to interact with. I had a burrito with every thing in it. I felt the burrito was tasty and enjoyable. I would definitely make a return trip.

Authentic flavors of Mexico. I had the taco plate carne asada chorizo frijoles (beans)the rice & horchata drink all on point. I really recommend this place and I'm just visiting from Los Angeles California where we have a huge Taco Street Scene and great Mexican food. This far north it's unheard of to get great Mexican food this is a wonderful spot. I come in and out working for refinery plant often in Mandan. I definitely found my go to home-away-from-home food. Gracias y provecho!

Dang good food. I was immediately interested because I haven't seen carne asada fries anywhere since vacationing in San Diego...who would have thought that my hometown would be the place to look? I'm so glad Mandan has such great Mexican food - we don't even have anything like it in Fargo! The carne asada fries were awesome. There are so many other things on the menu I'd like to try like beef tongue and Menudo, but it will be hard to pass up the carne asada fries!

Best Horchata in America and the greatest Taco selection, menudo is amazing as well. Super hard working staff love to eat here.

Best Mexican in the area in my opinion. Super easy to order take out. Pictured are the shrimp tacos.

I love this place it reminds me of the little Mexican restraints back home in Texas. AND THE food was SO GOOD.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in all North Dakota. It may not look like much but their food is fantastic. My personal favorites are the Carne Asada Burrito and the Carne Asada Nachos. The Al Pastor is also amazing.
If you see their homemade watermelon punch, get it! They don't have it often but when they do... amazing! Hibiscus or the mango punch is great to.

really awesome authentic spot. When we came in the staff was deseeding dried peppers by hand to make in to their delicious homemade salsas. I got the tacos and my friend got a burrito. They were really good quality- closest to real Mexican American food I’ve had in ND. The Jamaica was perfect too, not too sweet

EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL!!! I recommend the fajitas! The atmosphere was spectacular!
We got SO MUCH FOOD! Not like the chain restaurants where they give you three pieces of meat. My husband and i were full for the rest of the night! (Total of six hours after eating)

Authentic food for a great price. The tortillas are handmade and you can tell. The red salsa and green were full of flavor and not to hot. The smothered carnitas had two different flavors that were both delicious. Would eat here often if I was from the area.

Easy to state it's the best Taqueria in Mandan, but definitely an easy contender for best Mexican cuisine in the area, if not the entire state- hands down. Haven't experienced the full menu, but every item tried was never disappointing. Fajitas, burritos, and their amazing tacos with homemade tortillas! The Birria is a perfect menu choice for this time of the year!
