House of Chow

first impression, the decor of this place looks very good and seems to be more upscale then your regular chinese restaurant.

we ordered szechuan wontons as an app, szechuan beef and house of chow beef as our mains, the wontons were great, same with the beef although we felt that the portion of beef could have been bigger. the dishes were very good though, and we appreciated the free refills of rice.

the staff were very friendly and we loved the bowl of fortune cookies that we could grab on our way out!

House of Chow is a must try spot in Columbia. The atmosphere is great, and the employees were a delight. We stopped in about 40 minutes before the kitchen closed and an hour before the restaurant closed. Even with the late visit, every employee welcomed us in! The seating and ambiance were spot on and made for a nice experience. The general tso chicken is amazing and a must try. The prices are spot on for what you get. This is an overall great experience, and I'd definitely return.

Additional ratings for decor and the inventive menu. The menu has a big list of options for all food items, providing range in Appetizers and Entrees along with Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian options. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The spice level is mild.. so people with a bigger palate for spice need to have to ask to pump it up. In totality a good dining option.

Beautiful restaurant and great service. Food was cooked fresh and tasted amazing! I had the Springfield cashew chicken with steamed rice (which is one of my favorites) and their version was wonderful. The pork egg rolls are huge and delicious as well.

Seriously the Best chinese in town, you won’t be disappointed. Reasonable lunch combo menu, dinner for 2 is a great deal. Huge portions. Clean environment and very friendly service. The best generals chicken I’ve ever had, yu-xiang is a close second.

Chinese food that I didn't feel absolutely terrible after eating!

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in town. They have a very nice and cozy environment. And the food is super AUTHENTIC (this is from someone who grows up in china). Definitely recommend this place if you would like to try something delicious and have a good time!

One of the best restaurants in Columbia and certainly the best Chinese food. I’m surprised by some reviewers here who haven’t been happy with the service— I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and can’t think of a negative experience with the wait staff. In general it’s one of my favorite spots and I’d highly recommend it!

The flavor of the food was beautiful! Well balanced, delicate, and refined. Decor was lovely, and service was friendly. This was our first time, can't wait to come back!

March 29, 2024. Love House of Chow. We ordered Stir Fried Cashew Chicken ( do not get Springfield Cashew Chicken). It was perfect. Full of cashews, water chestnuts and lots of vegetables. Perfect sauce. Also ordered Yu Xizang (?) also delicious, a little spicy a little sweet, just right. Love the rice. We picked up the order and the bag was soooo heavy I should have weighed it! They gave us a time to come and it was ready and super-hot. I should add we usually get Mu Shu pork, it is always just full of pork and chestnuts etc. but wanted to try some other dishes. Also, cost wise, very reasonable.

Feb. 16, 2024. Ordered Moo Shu Pork. Very good. No salt. Lots of pork, nicely cooked. Tried Stir Fried Cashew Chicken. Excellent. Lots of water chestnuts and cashews. Sticky rice was delicious and perfectly cooked. All containers were packed tight. I even weighed the bag for fun. 5 LBS. Take out order.

Massive portions, great atmosphere, inventive twists on traditional Chinese. The spicy seafood soup is a must try!

One of the best Chinese restaurant in Columbia, MO. Their Amy's Smoked Salmon Fried Rice is our favorite dish. Very good portion size for the price and always fresh. Great ambience and overall service. Recommended!

Best General Tao’s chicken I’ve ever had. They had a long wait so we ended up getting our order to go. We will have to go again sometime to experiencing their dine in service and try more options.

Arguably the best Chinese food in Columbia. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and during the holidays they have live piano music.

With quality though, comes an increased cost, but it's well worth it for the food you get.
